The Royal Hotel in Southwark was considered one of the finest hotels in Asia prior to the invasion. The Royal was the first choice of foreign dignitories and entertainers visiting our nation. It is believed the Taiwanese occupying forces have allowed the Hotel to become rundown, thus losing much of its original grandeur.
An artists impression of the Federal Parliament Building, built in Southwark in 1893. During the Japanese occupation of the archipelago during the Second World War the building was used as a military hospital and military headquarters. It is not known for what purpose the Taiwanese occupying forces currently use the building.
