South Africa - Habitat Map and South West Cape

Ixia distribution in South Africa. (above).

This is an old map published in 1962 (above), showing the distribution of Ixia found up to that time. Since then, the names of the Provinces in South Africa have all changed and no doubt, more Ixia have been discovered. The Transvaal State no longer exists and has since been re-named. This map is used only as an early reference to habitat of Ixia. A revision of the Genus may provide an update in the future. Reprinted from "The Journal of South African Botany" volume XXV111 Part 2.
