The Breakfast Club HomepageIn 1985 genius film maker John Hughes introduced us to 5angst-filled stereotyped teenagers and reminded us we all have many different sides that are hidden or ignored. He did this with an amazing cast of characters and actors in The Breakfast Club, one of the funniest and most honest 80 movies. John Bender (a.k.a. The Criminal)
John Bender is a well known troublemaker. He does drugs and is usually armed with a knife. Why is he this way? His dad drinks all the time and he abuses him. Both of his parents thinks he's a worthless piece of shit and tell him so at every oppourtunity. Even though he'd never say it out loud this bothers him. John likes to insult people so they won't bother to find out what his problem is. John has a sensitive side too, a side that he's afraid will one day come out and ruin his image. In some odd twist of fate John ends up with the princess. John got detention for pulling a false alarm. John is played by Judd Nelson. Judd also plays Alex in St.Elmo's Fire. |
Allison Reynolds (a.k.a. The Basketcase)
Allison is in one word strange. She randomly makes odd noises and tends to intentionally fall literally on her face. She is a klepto and a compulsive liar. She eats pixy styx and Cap'n Crunch sandwiches. Allison carrys |
Brian Johnson (a.k.a. The Brain)
Brian is the brainy one who gets straight a's. His parents are very strict and expect him to be perfect in school. Brian is a virgin. Brian is failing shop because his elephant lamp doesn't light up. He's so distressed about this that he brings a gun to school. Luckily enough it was a flare gun. Brian is a parent's "wet dream" according to John and surprisingly enough he gets in touch with his bad side by smoking pot with everyone even though he tried to resist the temptation. Brian sadly doesn't end up with Anyone. He writes the paper Vernon asked them to write on who they are for everyone. Brian got detention for bringing in the flare gun. Brian is played by Anthony Michael Hall who is Ted in Sixteen candles. He also stars in USA's TV show The Dead Zone. |
