Claire seems like a concieted priss but she's not actually that bad. Claire is brutally honest to the point where she's been called a bitch. Claire's parents use her to get back at each other in their arguements and Claire hates it. Claire has an odd attraction to Bender and she can like him and hate him all in one moment. Claire has an older brother that she wants to go live with. Claire's parents are rich and buy her everything she wants. Claire ends up admitting her feelings for Bender and he ends up returning them. Claire is in detention for skipping school to go shopping.

Claire is played by Molly Ringwald. Molly Rinwald stars in two other movies on my list, Sixteen Candles as Sam and Pretty In Pink as Andy.

Andrew is one of the best wrestlers in school. His father and his coach are always putting pressure on him to win. Andrew is a follower and can't think for himself. Andrew and Bender don't get along in the beginning but in the end they discover that both of their fathers have similarly scarred them for life. Andrew is most interested in learning about Allison. Even before she talks he seems facinated and amused by her. He ends up admitting his attraction to her after Claire gives Allison her makeover. They end up a couple. Andy is in detention becuase he taped a guys buns together to prove to his dad he was strong and cool.

Andy is played by Emilio Estevez who is also Kirby in St.Elmo's Fire and Coach Bombay in The Mighty Ducks.

"Dick" Vernon is the principal. He treats the kids like shit and threatens Bender.
