The Blasphemy of Today's G.M.

OK, I have to start this page off right or I suppose I might make someone mad & get in trouble. Even though a lot of what you'll read here is a FOREGONE CONCLUSION it is only the personal opinion of the webmaster of this site. I'll keep it short & sweet. Basically, the last REAL Chevy Nova was built in 1979, the last REAL Malibu was built in 1983, the last REAL Olds Cutlass was built in 1988, and most importantly, the last REAL Chevrolet Impala was built on December 18, 1996. There are so many more examples that they cannot be listed here (Skylark, Grand Prix, Grand Am) and I feel this is a BLASPHEMY by General Motors, as well as other vehicle companies that glue old, sacred REAL car names to front-wheel-drive garbage, most of it Japanese. Now of course we've come full-circle with this madness. If you want to buy a true "American" car you might as well buy a Toyota or Hyundai, they're made here in America while a large percentage of so-called American named vehicles are actually built in the Orient. So hey, why moan & complain about it, right? It's progress, and progress can't be stopped. I just hope that people like me with REAL cars like me will join together with me & preserve what's left. Want to see what "Today's Chevrolet" means to one poor, unknowing customer? Click on the "find out more" button below and see firsthand how "great" a new car can be! I can't understand why ANYONE would want a rediculously inflated monthly car payment and insurance payment just to have to bring the stupid thing back to the dealership for recall after recall. Not only were there less recalls and problems with cars in the 70s and 80s, but they were much less dangerous and difficult to correct. So OK, one last thing & then I can get back to finding & enjoying the REAL cars that are left out there, this is an argument ender for most people that tell me "why don't you get rid of all your old, junk cars and get a new, dependable one?": I OWN all of my cars, I don't pay some lecherous new car dealer for them every month. Furthermore I pay well under a grand a year to insure two of them, and there's NO recalls on them. I simply drive & enjoy them. And to those who would argue that they don't have "experience" necessary to do what I'm doing with my cars, I will tell you that 77-90 and even 91-96 B-body cars are out there & available, and in MUCH better shape than mine! I just grabbed the ones I have because I know I can restore them, given the time & resources. Well, that's enough ranting about something I can't change, I guess. Hope I haven't offended anyone, except maybe that retard John Cafaro that came up with the design of the new "imposta". I feel (personally, remember) that he should burn in hell for even thinking of calling that ugly piece of crap an Impala, much less affixing the sacred deer emblems to it. And to whoever came up with that new TV commercial for the imposta super s**tbox featuring (and blaspheming) the great Beach Boys song "409", would you please get a clue? This song was about a REAL Chevy, not that piece of crap! Of course this is all just my opinion.......
