Mini Suspended EX

It needs a little help from a hill
By Fossil

Mini Suspended EX is unique among this coaster collection - it can't be built on flat land. The only way that I could manage to create an extreme Mini Suspended coaster was to build a lift hill higher than permitted on flat land, and then ram the cars through a tight turn at the bottom of this big drop. One of my failed attempts had 5 lift hills and 30 drops - and never came close to 9 intensity.

A "magic number" for an intensity boost is 2.81 lateral "G's." If the maximum lateral G's reaches or exceeds that number, you'll have no problem getting to EX class. This is roughly 40 mph in a small turn on most coasters. With big enough drops, we could probably make EX class coasters from Juniors, Steeplechase, and other coaster types not normally associated with EX levels of intensity, although I admit I haven't tried those (yet).

To build this coaster, simply find a convenient hill, and place the top of the lift hill on the topographic hill. Note that the first section of the downhill runs parallel to the station, so you may wish to use the edge of a hill, as I did in the picture.
