Name Origin The name Lakers, comes from one of the Boats that they used to sail in the Mississippi river.
Franchise History The Lakers used to be called the Minneapolis Lakers, until 1960. From 1947-48, they were the Minneapolis Lakers. (ANA). From 1948-60, they were the Minneapolis Lakers. (NBA). And from then until now, they are and were known as the Los Angeles Lakers. (NBA)
NBA Titles The Lakers have won 14 championships and 27 conference titles. The Los Angeles Lakers competed in 27 out of the 57 finals
