The Story of Inuyasha
So what exactly is Inuyasha, you end up asking yourself one day. Well, you've come to the right spot for the answer to that question. Even though it may be simple and understandable to some, to others, it's not quite that simple.
The story of Inuyasha first takes place in present time Japan. Kagome is first introduced, living with her brother, mother, and grandfather. It's her birthday and she's off to school, but her cat, Buyo, is lost. The well that had been boarded up for so long was Buyo's spot where he was found. But Kagome was taken by this well and was sent back into time, and taken to Feudal Japan.
While wandering this area, she comes upon a tree. No, not any tree in particular. But one with a boy pinned to it. This boy, Inuyasha, was a half demon. Half dog, half human. Kagome was later found by town people and taken away, and observed closely by Lady Kaede, Kikyou's younger sister. She came to a conclusion that this girl was the reincarnation of Kikyou, the priestess that protected their land from demons. Of course, Kagome is surprised at this and can't think of anything to say.
As Kagome is resting, the town is attacked by a demon, and it chases after Kagome, all the way back to the tree with Inuyasha pinned to it. Nevertheless, the sense of Kikyou's reincarnated body awakens him. Kagome is attacked, and the Shikon no Tama, which was burned with Kikyou's remains falls from Kagome's side. She is wrapped around the tree against Inuyasha by the demon, and Inuyasha tells her to remove the arrow from his chest. She does as told, not knowing what may happen.
After this demon is destroyed, Inuyasha turns his back upon them. He demands the Shikon no Tama and begins a chase after Kagome. Lady Kaede places a spell upon Inuyasha that when Kagome says a dog-type word, mainly "Sit", Inuyasha is thrown into the ground. This keeps Inuyasha from getting to Kagome and the Shikon no Tama.
In the next act, Kagome is wondering on a way to get home through the well, but is abducted by men. Kaede had told her that evil doesn't only reign in demons, but in humans as well, and it seems like Kagome didn't really listen! So, when taken, they all try to kill her, when she's trying to save them from their master, who is killing anyone in their tracks. She gets the idea that the leader is attracted to the Shikon no Tama and she tosses it out the door.
Inuyasha arrives later, to defeat the man, but a demon-like bird flies from the man's chest, and out. Inuyasha and Kagome have a talk about the Shikon no Tama while the bird is feeding on it. It later flies away and Inuyasha and Kagome later go on a chase after it. Kagome, being known as the reincarnation of Kikyou, who was a great archer, is forced to shoot the bird herself. Of course, knowing she isn't the reincarnation, she misses twice in a row, and Inuyasha gives up, leaving her behind.
Kagome later watches the bird catch a boy from the land, as Inuyasha jumps in to slice the bird to pieces. In doing so, the boy falls into the river below and Kagome goes in to get him. She pulls him up onto the land as the bird is beginning to reattatch itself. (This Shikon no Tama is very powerful. It pretty much makes the person Immortal if you ask me! Lol.) A leg is still attatched to the boy's shirt and she removes it. She ties the leg onto an arrow, and aims for the bird. Knowing the leg is trying to get back, she shoots, and hits the bird right on! But there's only one problem.
After shooting the bird, the Shikon no Tama soon breaks and all the pieces scatter everywhere within Fuedal Japan! Not knowing what happened, Kagome and Inuyasha go out searching for the stone itself and not looking for pieces. After finding a shard, they come to the conclusion that it's pretty much GONE. Inuyasha is upset by this and starts yelling like how he always is.
After knowing all this, you should have a feel for what else goes on in the series. Of course, they all go out, meet friends, and fight enemies, but mainly look for Jewel Shards on the way. Hope you enjoy the Anime production, Inuyasha!
