In the fall of 2002, the concept was born in us to bring music and politics together in a way unlike the people have known before. The music business has become a profit machine centered on CEOs rather than musicians. Political music has been more or less barred from mainstream eyes without critical acclaim. Very few bands have been able to leak this message to the mainstream, but eventually pop culture tires of their views, preferring to move on to the next trend. When a music fan pays for music, they do not intend their money to make a CEO richer, they intend to support the artist whose endeavor they have purchased. Our goal is to eliminate the CEO mentality, and to eliminate the profit in favor of spreading the word of our artists and our selected cause.
   The idea of Utopian Records is quite a bit diffrent form most "record labels". Our goal is not to "sign" bands, but instead to distribute music that has a message and is worth support. We will distribute any band (that doesn't suck :) ), it doesn't matter if they are signed to a record label or are independent artists. We wish to provide music to the public that will get their feet tapping, fists in the air, and ready to fight for what right.
    The compilations and albums released here are and will be in support of a particular cause (pro-peace, etc.), and the proceeds from the sales after paying the label's debt and NOT SALARIES will go directly to an organization related to the cause. Our secondary goal is to increase awareness for these issues by our own words and the words of others through the organizations represented in our links section.
