Hanging The Transmission

I picked up the torsion bar out of a type 3 Square back VW that was a full automatic transmission model. I have ordered an adapter plate from Kennedy Engineering to bolt my Subaru E82 Carbonated 1.8 liter motor too. So this will be a basic rear mount setup very much like a standard VW build. I prefer this configuration as opposed to using the Subaru tranny and building it as a mid engine Trike. Several reasons for that choice. I like to build off the VW platform to hold cost down for one thing. Another reason is that I don't want to be setting over a hot motor all day. I had a mid engine VW trike a few years back and it was the pits to get to the motor to do the most basic of things and you know how often you must do things to a VW. I build a longer and heavier Trike than most so I'm not concerned about a light front end with the extra weight of the Subaru motor and the radiators. The Subaru motor is very similar in size and shape as the VW motor so it will hook up and hang back here just like a VW would. So except for the radiators and the things they will need, this build is not much different than my latest VW builds. I wanted to build a water cooled Trike mainly to get away from the constant tinkering that the VW needs and to get the extra power that this motor will deliver in stock form. It will get about 70 HP stock and can be kicked up close to 100HP with a few bolt on items. I also expect that this motor will deliver better gas mileage too and over all a smoother operation. Time will tell. My biggest concern is if my 2 little Goldwing radiators will be enough cooling. All that will be found out very soon after its running and testable. But I have all winter to make any corrections that might be needed.
