Summary: The relationship of Starsky and Hutch as seen through the eyes of an observer. ********* Revelations By Mahlia Belonn ********* I just can't work out what I have done wrong. I made a comment about Starsky's car to Hutch and almost had my head torn off. I can't understand why as it is something that Hutch himself says all the time. I expected Hutch to agree with me, but the anger I was faced with totally threw me. I was still standing there shell shocked when one of the older officers decided to put me out of my misery.
"A word of advice... never say anything to Starsky or Hutch that criticizes either one of them or their belongings." It was obvious to me that the other officer was envious of the partnership that Starsky and Hutch had. I realized that I would have to watch them further if I was ever going to understand how their partnership worked. ***********Two weeks after the altercation with Hutch, I am still observing the pair. I am constantly surprised by their behavior, and still confused by the contradictions. Just this morning I witnessed them fighting. Unlike most people who fight, they were unfailingly polite to each other. The main indication that something was wrong between them was the fact that the friendly banter was missing, and that they avoided touching each other. Normally they were all over each other. They seem to be constantly touching, and it was not unusual to see them walking around with an arm flung around each other. The fact that Hutch said nothing as Starsky ate a donut was also a sign that something was not right between them. I could almost see the invisible wall between them. I hope it will be resolved soon, as the squad room just isn't the same without the antics of Starsky and Hutch. ************The fight was over. This morning they were joking and laughing like normal. There were a few things that caught my attention though, and now I'm sure that they are partners in every sense of the word. Hutch was wearing a turtleneck, but it was still possible to see the edge of a large Hickey. I wonder how many more there were. Any time he sat down, he did so very carefully, and a dreamy look came over his face every time. A couple of times, Starsky caught him moving carefully and he would smile at Hutch wickedly. Hutch would then blush. I almost died of shock the first time I saw that. Along with several other little things I observed, it wasn't hard to come to the conclusion that Starsky had ridden Hutch hard the night before. I wasn't as surprised as I thought I would be, because there had been little clues all the time that I had been watching them. Even so, unless I hadn't seen the signs myself, I would never have suspected them at all. They were nothing like the gay men I came across in the course of my work, but then again, I know that we just see the worst of them. They are just so masculine, and it is said that they practically slept their way through half the female population of LA. I am surprised that I'm not disgusted by the fact that they are sleeping together. I was brought up to think that it was wrong, and I have always been uncomfortable with the idea, but somehow, when I think of Starsky and Hutch, I feel like it is right. In fact I am envious of the fact that they have found someone who loves them as much as it is obvious that they do. They are definitely the lucky ones here. I can only hope that one day I too will be that lucky!
