It was an impossible choice—between saving Teal’c now, and the possibility of saving Sha’re and Skarra in the future. Daniel didn’t think he’d be able to make it, but he did. It about broke his heart, but he took the Staff weapon and destroyed Thor’s Hammer. As the blast reverberated through the doorway, he imagined he could feel it going through him; an aching reminder of what he was giving up.
 But deep down he still had hope. Something of the host survives—Kendra was proof of that—and someday he would get Sha’re back. Sha’re and Skarra both.
