  • Do you suffer from pelvic pain every month?
  • Do you suffer from extreme period pains?
  • Do you have pain when you empty your bladder or bowels?
  • Is sex painful?
  • Have you had problems trying to get pregnant?
  • Do you suffer from chronic fatigue?
  • Do you feel as though you're on your own and that no one seems to understand?
  • Are you confused and feel as though you don't know what's happening any more?
  • Does it feel as though no one is taking you seriously and that they just won't listen?

If so, then please don't lose heart. That is what I'm here for. That is why I started this group.

HOW CAN I HELP?

I know what it is like to suffer from pain associated with endo. I was diagnosed in 1994 & have had to live with it ever since.

When I was initially diagnosed with the disease, there was very little information available, which is why I became a member of Endometriosis UK.

Because they had a help-line, I was able to talk to someone who understood me. I was able to talk to another sufferer, as supposed to a friend; a relative or a doctor. It made all the difference in the world.

All of the Endometriosis UK volunteers are women who know what it is like to live with endo. We are women who want to help other women in similar situations. We know that there are times when it can be depressing, debilitating and bloody hard work. That is why I decided to become a volunteer!

As a Group Leader I am here to offer support, information and a shoulder to lean on - even cry on, if necessary. I will try to point you in the right direction, so that you can learn more about your endo and what works for you. As a whole, the group is there to make you realise that you're no longer on your own & that you're not the only woman who has battles to fight.

However, I am not here to offer medical advice or to tell you who you should see or what you should do. Even though I have been on training weekends, I have no qualifications in any way, shape or form. I'm just another woman with endo who wants to help. The only 'qualifications' I do have are the ones I've learned over the past 14 years or so.

Therefore, if you are at all interested in coming along please do contact me at aboyton99@bigfoot.com and then we can take things from there.

Because this is a new group, I would be grateful for any feedback. Would you like to meet at weekends or in the evenings? Would you be interested in bringing partners, friends or family along? Would you like to have speakers at certain meetings? The more we can work together to establish this group, the more we will all benefit from it.

(If you are here looking for the Oxford Group, I'm afraid that I no longer run it. However, please do click on the link below to Endometriosis UK & follow the links from there. Thank you.)
