Deception

~~~~~ It's been dark for a really long time. She knows this. Everybody does. The only person that doesn't quite realise it would be the Empress.
~~~~~ Stepping through the shadows, she slowly creapt toward the metallic door. Even though they had been enslaved a while, they still had some technology. The door was cloaked. An ear-shattering shriek came from above her, forcing her back against the wall, once again in the shadow. She watched, as the magnificent red dragon flew high overhead.
~~~~~ "She's angry again..." Iria mumbled as she quickly rushed to the door. She knew where it was. Everyone belonging to the underground knew.
~~~~~ Three knocks, that's all it took. Well, that and the DNA scan. The door opened, and it was their own personal shangri-la. It wasn't fancy, but it was better than the Alina on the outside. Iria stepped into the room, and stood before hundreds of refugees. There were gnomes, imps, elves, and faeries like herself.
~~~~~ "What do you bring to us today, mam'selle Iria?" a young boy looked into her eyes, smiling with a glimmer of hope for the future.
~~~~~ "Today, I brought you all some fruit. You're going to need more sources of nourishment soon." Iria began. "I think that the Empress is beginning to suspect something..."
~~~~~ "We understand that you risk your life for us... every night... and we thank you. From the bottom of our hearts." a man kneeled at her feet, as if begging for forgiveness from God. Forgiveness which would never be granted.
~~~~~ "Please... don't do that... I'm the same as the rest of you. I just happen to be able to help you... supply you with things you need... don't treat me as a Goddess." she waited for the man to stand to his feet. "Please... what's your name?"
~~~~~ "Some call me Torvac... most call me Greer." he smiled, and hurriedly turned away from Iria, to the rest of the refugees. "Please! Line up and recieve your rations for today." a slight cheer went out, and the people began busying themselves with the rush. Iria smiled, turning back to the door.
~~~~~ "Shall we see you again tomorrow night?" Greer asked, smiled abroad on his face.
~~~~~ "You can count on it." she happily replied. She gave a quick glance around the large gathering of people, picking out a familiar blue face. "No... it couldn't be her... the Empress would have her head..." dismissing the thought, Iria turned back through the door, and stood in the darkened alleyway once more.
~~~~~ She replaced the hood on her head, and began to rush off, back to the castle. She hated this part of the night. The paranoia of being caught. It was sometimes too much for her to handle, especially considering the circumstances...

~~~~~ A young girl, playing on the beach, sifting sand through her fingers. Watching the water and smiling as if she'd never known a frown. Another young girl, a blue-haired faerie, walked over.
~~~~~ "My name is Iria. Wanna help me build a castle?" the girl smiled, holding her pail in her left hand, and her shovel in the other. The other girl smiled.
~~~~~ "It can be our very own fortress. My name is Saines..."
~~~~~ At the time, Iria didn't quite realise that what her young friend really wanted was an actual fortress... and later an entire world. She stepped up to the castle gates, as she did every night upon returning, and threw her street robes in the bushes. She dusted off her clothing, and fluttered above the gates and onto the pathway leading to the castle doors. A familiar shriek sounded off in her mind.
~~~~~ Iria closed her eyes a moment, and waited for the thud, thud stomp. She turned, and there before her was the mighty dragon, blood dripping from her teeth. The dragon raised it's head, releasing a brilliant trail of flame, and slowly began evolving into a human form.
~~~~~ It never ceased to amaze Iria. Every time it would happen, she would be watching in awe. Now, before her, instead of a magnificent dragon towering above her head, there laid a defenseless woman. Stripped of clothing, scar on her arm.
~~~~~ "Empress..." Iria rushed over, taking off her own cloak, and wrapping it around her friend.
~~~~~ "How many times should I tell you... you can call me Saines..."

~~~~~ "That's right, my minions! No more shall you toil away in your shops. No more shall you pray to your God. You will pray only to me! You will work, only for me! I am your Empress!" Saines held her staff high into the air, however, even in her declaration of oppression, there was a rebel. He stood before her, challenging her to her right for domination. His screams were heard as she transformed into the mighty dragon, and ripped him apart, peice by peice.
~~~~~ They stepped back into the castle together, walking slowly. "Take me to my chambers..." Saines quietly motioned towards the stairs.
~~~~~ "Empress! What has happened?" a leprechaunic male rushed towards her.
~~~~~ "Nothing, my sweet. Take me to bed." she replied, dismissing the entire question. Iria stood alone in the entryway now. Recalling the sight of the mythical beast, blood dripping from it's mouth. Amazed that that creature was once her timid friend. Amazed that the dragon wasn't even the strongest might that her friend held captive inside herself.

~~~~~ "Iria... I need your help... I don't understand what's happening..." Saines's eyes were filled with tears, and she fell to the floor. "Please..." she whimpered, eyes swelled up, hands bleeding.
~~~~~ "I don't understand what's wrong... what's going on?" Iria asked in dismay.
~~~~~ "HELP ME!" the blood-curdling scream brought forth a new Saines. Sky blue eyes turning blood red. Honey brown hair going silver, and skin tanning without sunlight. "RAAAAAGH!" she turned her glare toward the ceiling, and the roof to the house was blown off.
~~~~~ She entered into the dining hall, sitting at the far end from where the Empress was most accustomed to sitting. In a moment she was waited to by a tall man with black and blue hair, aswell as a young woman with short blonde hair.
~~~~~ "Don't busy yourselves with me. Take a rest, please. I can't stand to see the two of you working night and day." Iria began.
~~~~~ "This is our job... the Empress would have it no other way." the girl replied.
~~~~~ "Don't listen to the Empress for once in your life! Take charge, seize the day..." Iria began. She stood, not realising she had gotten so caught up in the moment. "I... I'm sorry... I forget that you have no choice. What are your names?"
~~~~~ "I... I must go... I have work to do." the girl ran off, rushedly, and the man followed behind her. "Those poor children. They never wanted to be slaves to you, Saines... nobody did..."

~~~~~ The Empress sat at her chair, happily, watching as a young girl was thrown before her. "What is your name, slave?"
~~~~~ "In Bonnerland I was called..."
~~~~~ "I care not of Bonnerland. I am the Empress of Alina, your allegiance is only to me. Now, forget your past, and look only to the future. The future that I control. What is your name?"
~~~~~ "I... I am called NooNoo..."
~~~~~ The Empress smiled, "Very well. Guards, place her in shackles and put her in the kitchen. We need another cleaning girl."
~~~~~ With her head on the dining table, Iria began sobbing softly. She heard the door creak open, and quickly raised her head, whiping away the tears on her sleeves. She looked over, and the elf she had seen before stepped into the room.
~~~~~ "Good evening... mam'selle." she gave a half smile, and continued to walk through the room. Iria remembered their first meeting.
~~~~~ "Iria! Come to me!" Saines beckoned from the drawing room. Iria entered quickly, as she knew not to keep her dear friend waiting. There stood before her two new faces. "I would like you to meet our... new associates. They are called Dré and Eon. You can guess which is which for yourself."

~~~~~ Iria did not want to guess. She hadn't even wanted to meet them. If she was given the choice to do it over again, she wasn't even sure if she would go and speak to the young Saines on the beach. She wasn't sure anymore, if her friend was truly her friend.
The Dark
~~~~~ The darkness used to be her home. She relished the silky fluid motions in which she could soar through the night. Now it drives her insane. To her, it is forever night-time. No matter what she tries, she may never see the sun come up again. Her name is Alaya. She has been a vampire for quite some time now.
~~~~~ She used to be happy. She had it all. A fantastic life, beauty, and a man that loved her. At least, she thought he did. To save his own life, he allowed the vampires to suck her dry.
~~~~~ She awoke the next evening, feeling strange. She stared into his eyes, wondering if she had survived, and he was expressing his deepest love for her. Instead, he kissed her forehead, handed her a pendant, and walked away never to be seen again. This really pissed her off.
~~~~~ She held herself that night, sitting in the same spot, never moving. She began to cry, noticing her tears were now red. She was crying blood tears. This made her cry more. He turned her into a monster, and felt no remorse. She hated him for it, but still loved him. She placed the pendant around her neck, staring into it. That's the last she remembers before awakening the next evening. Then she realised that she might never see the sun again.
~~~~~ Now she walks the night, searching for any morsel of food to come her way. She doesn't enjoy the kill, but, secretly, she feels power during the hunt.

~~~~~ She still recalls the first time the craving hit her. She had resisted it for nearly a week, refusing to even drink from a rat. She was slowly dying, and it was driving her insane. But, it finally got to her. She could smell someone on the wind. She had to try them.
~~~~~ It was a young boy and his mother. They were walking close together through the darkened woods. They were both afraid of wolves attacking them, but they didn't realise that a worse foe was stalking them. Alaya crouched in the trees, leaping from one to the other, ever so silently. She could nearly taste them, and the fact that she wanted this more than anything else scared her.
~~~~~ Within a split second, Alaya was out of the tree, on top of the mother, pinning her to the ground and staring into her eyes. The boy was screaming, and the mother had passed out.
~~~~~ "Run boy... you're next." Alaya grinned evily, and the child rushed off into the distance. Her blood was the sweetest thing that Alaya had ever tasted, and in the bloodlust, she didn't realise the pain she would feel afterwards.

~~~~~ She still remembers the woman's scent, the fright in the boy's eyes, and the emotional distress she dealt with afterwards. She hadn't been prepared for killing someone and drinking from them. Yes, it was to save her own life, but she murdered that woman. And since then, she's murdered hundreds more.
~~~~~ It wasn't long after the Empress began her reign when Alaya was transformed against her will. Alaya holds the Empress slightly responsible. Why, she isn't sure, but there has to be some reason.
~~~~~ "What do you bring to us today, mam'selle Iria?" Alaya watched as the young boy spoke to the Empress's faerie friend. How she admired Mam'selle Iria. She admired her for everything she did, everything she could do, and everything that she was.
~~~~~ Clutching her pendant, Alaya realised that she, too, could become something much more.

~~~~~ She would stare at the pendant every night. Sitting in the same spot. Crying tears of blood. It was a surprisingly long time before Alaya noticed the enscryption.
~~~~~ Rotating it slowly in her hand, she read the writing aloud, "Through death, the blessed one brings life," and even though she realised that it was only given to her out of pity, there had to be something that drew it to her personally. Was she the blessed one?

~~~~~ "Shall we see you again tomorrow night?" Greer asked. Alaya was disgusted that they were still chattering on. Although they finished almost immediately after.
~~~~~ It was Greer that originally brought Alaya into their ranks. She protested it, considering she was a vampire, and did not want to harm anyone, but Greer forced her to cooperate. They had become close since she joined the resistance against the Empress. Closer than Alaya had dreamed of becoming again.

~~~~~ "Please... Torvac... Greer... whatever your name is, I can't go with you! I don't... I can't... I'll end up hurting you." Alaya's eyes began tearing up again.
~~~~~ "Don't stain your face with blood. Come with us, we might be able to help you." Greer grabbed onto her arm, tugging a little.
~~~~~ "No! Please! Let go!" Alaya pulled back, falling onto the ground, into the mud. "Just leave me alone... I'm beyond your help."
~~~~~ Greer stared at her pendant, which was now visible since she fell. "What is that?" he asked. She gave a quick glance down, then shoved it back down her shirt. "Did... did it say something on it?"

~~~~~ She could open up to him like nobody else. She dared to even say that she loved him.
Fealty
~~~~~ The room was darkened, and the lanterns were yet to even be lit that day. Iria sat at the table in the dark, knowing that in a matter of seconds, servants would be rushing in to illuminate the room, allowing the Empress to be able to see for her meeting. Iria was right, and in a moment, the blonde Nymph girl named NooNoo and the taller boy with wings aswell as black and blue hair wandered into the room. In a snap of his wrist, flame shot out, and the lanterns were lit. They smiled to each other, turned, and were surprised to see that Iria sat at the table, staring right back at them.
~~~~~ "Oh... good evening, mam'selle... let me be out of your way..." NooNoo began.
~~~~~ "Don't rush yourselves..." Iria began, but before finishing, Empress Saines stepped into the room. Both the servants immediately froze, and then creapt from the room.
~~~~~ "QuiniBob. Sit." The Empress sat in her chair, and the servant boy with wings turned back into the room, and sat down, nervously. Saines looked over to the door, and it opened, revealing Dré, accompanied by Eon, and followed by a girl with blonde and silver hair. "I wanted you all here so I could speak of my new... decisions..." Saines raised her hands into the air, and the doors all shut. "First, QuiniBob... you have been a faithful servant... ever since that first day we met, anyhow... I have pondered it over my sleep, and decided that you will now be one of my trusted few. No longer a servant... nor a slave..."
~~~~~ QuiniBob gave a startled look, and was in such shock he couldn't think of any words to speak. "Also... I have met a new ally. Her name, is Medea." Into the room, a young green woman stepped into the room. "Unlike others of her kind, Medea's Dryad powers have manifested in a most... useful manner. Girl! Slave girl! Return to me!" NooNoo rushed back into the room.
~~~~~ "Yes, Empress?" she asked quickly, trying not to screw up or anger anyone.
~~~~~ "Medea, use the girl to show an example of your powers." Saines watched as Medea stepped over to NooNoo, placed her hand on the girl's shoulder, and immediately, they began glowing a bright colour of green. Within the next few seconds, NooNoo was unconscious on the floor, and Medea smiled widely. "She literally sucks the life out of people..."

~~~~~ As if she'd seen a picture, Iria almost immediately began to recall memories of when her dear friend Saines first manifested her powers. Some were very similar to those of the new ally.
~~~~~ "What's happening to me? HELP!" Saines's scream was heard by everyone in a two-mile radius, and nothing could be done. The girl fell to the floor, holding her face in her hands, tears rolling down her cheeks, through her fingers. "Someone... please..." A man, an older one, around forty or so, rushed over to help the distressed young girl. He leaned down to take her hand and help her up. She grasped his hand in hers, clutching it hard, and the man fell to the ground. She had killed him with a simple touch. She began to cry harder.
~~~~~ Saines refused to touch anyone during the next three months. She was eating very little, and only speaking to Iria. The chemist came in handy...
~~~~~ Iria rushed into the room, bottle in hand. "Saines, please, drink this!" Iria handed her friend the bottle, who immediately drank it down. Her hair was up, her eyes were glowing, and she was shivering. In a moment all of it stopped. Her hair was down, her eyes were blue, and she was warm.

~~~~~ "Iria? Iria! Are you listening?" the Empress screamed. Iria shot back a moment, then looked towards her friend.
~~~~~ "Y... yes... I'm sorry... I was elsewhere a moment." Iria concentrated on the conversation at hand.
~~~~~ "As I was saying... Amira has told me that she foresaw a traitor. I'm not sure whether it be someone in this room, or one of the other servants, but there is a leak... someone working both sides. I plan to find this person and make an example of them." Saines's fists pounded on the table. "Nobody betrays the Empress!"
~~~~~ Smiling, Amira stood, and walked from the room. The meeting was over, and only the Empress remained at the table, glaring towards nothingness. Amira, delightedly, continued on through the next few rooms, and outside.

~~~~~ The screams, the fear, the pain. It was all still fresh in Iria's mind. Too fresh.
~~~~~ She remembers Saines, the Empress, staring down at the young girl. She was covered in blood and dirt, staring right back up at the Empress. Her legs, broken, her eyes, watering, her soul, darkened. Saines extended her hand to the young girl, helping her up, and took her in.

~~~~~ "Such a cruel fate for such a young woman..." Iria muttered under her breath as she watched Amira walking around the courtyard.
~~~~~ "Did you say something, mam'selle?" Dré asked in passing by. Iria quickly shook her head, and walked away from the window. "Alright. Have a good day." Dré smiled, checked out the window, and walked away.

~~~~~ "I hear that she is a seer. An oracle of sorts." Dré whispered into Eon's ear.
~~~~~ "An oracle? She can see the future?" Eon asked in confusion, watching Dré's nod of agreement. "That could lead us to trouble..."
~~~~~ "It only means we'll have to be more careful in the future..."
~~~~~ Iria wasn't sure who was who anymore. Who played what side, what was good and bad. Right and wrong. Who knew things and who didn't. The most confusing for her at the moment, was what side was Dré playing on.

Servitude

~~~~~ The castle was oddly quiet today. Something was wrong, what it was, nobody was sure. There was just a different feel today. The feel of something about to go absolutely wrong. The two of them sat facing each other in the dining hall. Nobody had even entered it today. Everyone, aside from the two of them, was busy rushing around the castle, making sure that the Empress was still pleased. They looked into each other's eyes, sipping their tea.
~~~~~ Neither of them spoke during their tea time. Neither of them had to. They had known each other the majority of their lives, and needn't speak to know what the other was thinking anymore. She placed her tea down on the table, and sat back in her chair, as if in shock of something. He placed his down.
~~~~~ "Something wrong?" Eon inquired.
~~~~~ "It's... too quiet somehow..." Dré replied. "I... I think there is something wrong..."
~~~~~ "Isn't there always?" Eon countered. As he finished, NooNoo rushed into the room, slamming the door behind her, not seeing the two of them at the table. Her eyes shut, she turned her back to the door, trying to keep it shut. "Hmm... I suppose you get points tonight."
~~~~~ "Do I ever." Dré stared at the servant girl as she opened her eyes. NooNoo's pupils dilated, and she looked as if she knew not what to do. "Are you playing some sort of game with the Empress? Hide and seek?"
~~~~~ "You could call it that..." NooNoo looked absolutely horrified. As if her entire life was in danger of being finished.
~~~~~ "Well, this is no hiding place. If you ask me, which you most obviously would have, had you realised how incredibly brilliant I am, a good hiding place would be in the caves, three miles outside of the castle. South-ward I believe. A good escape route from this room would be from the window behind me, girl. Your tail can be used to support you." NooNoo stared at Eon a moment, then took heed his advice, and shot toward the window. In a moment, she was gone, and both Dré and Eon resumed their tea drinking.

~~~~~ Although neither of them remembered that far back, their origins weren't too differed from each other. Dré was born to her parents, Thedad and Mom. Thedad, her father, was a Dargonesti Elf. He was also an ancient priest, possessing vast amounts of magic. Her mother, on the other hand, was Queen of the Faeries. Eon's parents were unknown. He was born from the Earth, and adopted at a young age by Thedad and Mom. He and Dré were raised together as siblings.
~~~~~ A young Dré, playing with a toy top, nearly falling over in laughter. "Can I play too?" a shape-shifting baby Eon asked.
~~~~~ "Um... no?" Dré replied.
~~~~~ "TRAMP!" the two begin to slap each other, as Thedad and Mom have to rush in and break it up.

~~~~~ As the two of them resumed sipping their tea, the door to the dining hall burst off, shattering into tiny peices. During their sips, the two of them looked up to see an angry Empress standing there.
~~~~~ "Where... is she?" the Empress demanded.
~~~~~ "Dré? She is sitting across the table from myself, my Empress."
~~~~~ "Yes, I am here." the two of them stared up innocently from the table. The Empress rolled her eyes, turned around, and walked through the castle. "Pre Monsteral Syndrome."
~~~~~ "Pre... Monsteral Syndrome?"
~~~~~ "Yes." Dré smiled to herself as the Empress was heard screaming, transformed into a dragon, and flew passed the window.
~~~~~ "Touché."
~~~~~ Both of them vividly remember the destruction of their parents' home. They had been playing just outside of the hidden Faerie Kingdom. Non-fae folk were unable to see it. Usually. The Empress must have been an exception of some sort. Before either of them knew what was happening, they were staring up at the belly of a magnificent beast.
~~~~~ A low roar came from it's belly, and they stared up in awe. Then, without warning, a burst of flame shot out of the creature's mouth, engulfing the entire kingdom.
~~~~~ Finishing off their tea, both of them stood in unison. "Where to?"
~~~~~ "I'm not sure. It's too risky to go out of the castle ground while the Empress is so touchy..." Eon began. The Empress returned to the room. Neither Eon nor Dré had realised that she'd returned from her dragon's flight.
~~~~~ "I have a surprise for you both."

~~~~~ Both of them remembered the last time she had said those words. They had been taken in by the Empress. She wanted them to trust her, so that it would become easier for her to use them.
~~~~~ Her surprise at that time, was training them. She was slowly desensitising them. Forcing them to believe that cruelty and pain were the only ways of life in the real world.
~~~~~ She treated them as minions, with due cause, as that's how they acted.
~~~~~ "I'd like you both to meet my two newest additions to the team..." the Empress stepped into the room, closer to the two of them, followed by two hooded figures. She snapped her fingers, and they removed their cloaks.
~~~~~ "M... Mom? Daddy?" Dré's eyes began to water.
Addiction
~~~~~ The pain was incredible. She would lose track of time, she would lose her temper, and she would lose her sense of self. Her hands would shake, her eyes would sting, and sweat would pour out of every pore in her body.
~~~~~ Falling to the ground she would begin to cry, shaking involuntarily. She never understood what was happening, and she never knew why it happened to her. She would look up at the mirror, noticing visible changes after a while. Her blue eyes would eventually turn shades of purple until they became red, her honey-coloured hair would lighten until it was silver, she would grow fangs, and she would begin forgetting who she was.
~~~~~ It was no longer her.
~~~~~ No matter what, Iria would always rush in in the nick of time, tilting Saines's head back, forcing her to drink the potion, and bringing her back to herself.
~~~~~ "Are you alright, Saines? Almost didn't make it that time, I..." Iria fumbled with her words, trying to make up for being so late on the day's drink.
~~~~~ "I'm good... thank you Iria. You are a good friend." Saines was never so sure of it anymore. She would see less and less of her life-long friend Iria, and the only times they ever really spoke was when Saines had to chug down her drink.
~~~~~ The only thing that neared being as bad as the transformation, was the addiction.

~~~~~ "What's in that drink, Iria?" Saines's voice was cracking, and she was obviously struggling to breathe. She layed in Iria's lap, empty bottle beside her. "How did you know what to make?"
~~~~~ "I... I'm not exactly sure how I knew... I just did. Are you alright?" Iria helped Saines to her feet, holding her up until she stopped wobbling.
~~~~~ "I'm good, thank you Iria." Saines smiled.
~~~~~ "I'll be here whenever you need me." With a smile, Iria left the room. That's when Saines began to question the true value of Iria's friendship.

~~~~~ She walked through the halls of the castle. Whenever she was saved from transformation she would do so. Everything seemed so hollow, and for some reason, Saines would feel incredibly guilty.
~~~~~ "Empress? Is something the matter?" QuiniBob asked in passing. Saines shook her head.
~~~~~ "I am fine." Saines bitterly replied. Saines questioned the loyalty of all of her sub-ordinates after taking the potion.
~~~~~ Was there something in the potion to transform her mind? Was it to make her forget things? Was everyone conspiring against their Empress?
~~~~~ Saines wandered through the halls, continuing through the levels of the castle. She lived by the top of the towers, to make it easier for her to transform into dragon form and fly off. Iria, however, lived near the bottom. She conducted experiments there. Secret experiments, that sometimes not even Saines was allowed to know about.
~~~~~ She entered through the doorway, into the laboratory of her dear friend. Bottles everywhere. Liquids of all colours.
~~~~~ The potion.
~~~~~ "Iria! Where are you? HELP ME!" Saines was on the floor again. "Please... I need it... PLEASE!" Iria rushed into the room.
~~~~~ "Quick! Drink it!" Iria handed her the potion, and Saines downed it without a thought. Saines remained unscathed by the entire situation. They sat in silence for a moment. "If we're done, I would like to get back to my experiments."
~~~~~ Saines was never settled that Iria never spoke of what was in the drink. Why did her friend keep it secret from her? It must have been some harmful thing, as Saines would randomly get hallucinations.

~~~~~ "Good morning, my love." everything was bright. There was white and gold everywhere. Silver spotted around. It was warm, but difficult for Saines to see.
~~~~~ "Who are you? What are..." before she could continue, she was embraced by a familiar man.
~~~~~ "Do not worry. You are with God." he silently spoke.
~~~~~ "Am I... dead?"
~~~~~ "No." Before she knew what was happening, she willingly allowed for the passion to take over. She, and the man she thought of as God, made love like no other.
~~~~~ Saines looked around a little more, continuously looking back at the potion. She saw no harm in keeping some for herself in case Iria was late again. She began pocketing the elixers.
~~~~~ She looked through the rest of the potions, noticing that some were unlabeled. The door opened behind her. Saines shot to the other side of the lab.
~~~~~ Hiding behind a crate, she watched as Iria stepped into the room.

~~~~~ Saines struggled to speak through the convulsions of the transformation. "Is it possible... that maybe I could... control... learn to control... the... transformations?" Saines asked as she downed another of Iria's potions.
~~~~~ "Maybe in time, but..." Saines began calming down, steadying her breathing and stopped shaking.
~~~~~ "How can I learn..." she began, "when I'm addicted to these potions?"
~~~~~ "Poor Saines..." Iria muttered as she stared at one of the potions. "I wish I could stop all of these transformations... I wish... I wish that you were the way you used to be..." Iria placed the potion down and walked out of the room.
~~~~~ Saines stood. 'the way she used to be'? Saines steadily walked toward the door, taking a different potion, placing it in her pocket, and continued upstairs.
Precognition
~~~~~ She had a hardened shell. Nothing said by anyone seemed to affect her at all, in fact, it always looked as though she revelled in the thought of others in pain.
~~~~~ Perhaps this was one of the things that originally drew the Empress to her. That, and her abilities as a precog. Amira had the strange power to see into the future. She could not control when she would have visions, or what they would be about. They would come to her when it was time for her to see them.
~~~~~ The power first manifested when she was young. She had a vision of her family dying, but nobody payed much attention. The next morning, Amira's family was placed into a concentration camp.
~~~~~ Amira was not a happy person. She avoided people as much as she could, and spoke as little as possible.
~~~~~ Even though the Empress knew that Amira hated her bitterly, wanting her to die, eagerly awaiting that day, she continued to keep the girl in servitude. The Empress needed Amira's powers, and would not allow someone else to take her, and use the powers against herself.
~~~~~ It wasn't so much the fact that the Empress sentenced Amira's family to die that bothered her. It was the fact that the Empress did it herself.
~~~~~ Amira saw the Empress's face as she cut off her mother's head.

~~~~~ She still recalls the fear in her parents eyes. The pain. She watched them die. Blood splattered everywhere, and there was nothing Amira could do to help.
~~~~~ Tears rolled down Amira's face. She awaited the sword. Standing still, hoping it would be fast and painless.
~~~~~ The sword never came.
~~~~~ Instead, Amira was in for a worse fate. She was taken back to the castle. Trained under the surveiliance of the Empress. Trained as something she hated.

~~~~~ The visions that Amira recieved were never pleasant. Since she got them around the time her family was killed, Amira subconsciously placed having visions and being killed at the edge of a sword together.
~~~~~ When she would have a vision, not only would she shoot back, her eyes go hazy, nails feel like fire. But she would feel the pain of being killed by the Empress's sword.
~~~~~ "What did you see, daughter?"
~~~~~ That was something else that bothered Amira. The Empress had gotten into the habit of calling her 'daughter'.
~~~~~ "The betrayal... I'm still not sure who... but she was definately female... and the colour of blue popped into my mind..." Amira rubbed her temples, trying to rid herself of the pain of stabbing swords.
~~~~~ "Blue... thank you, daughter. You may rest now." The Empress stood, and left the candlelit room.
~~~~~ Amira went to sleep.
~~~~~ "I want you to feel as comfortable in this castle as possible. Think of it as your new home. Think of me... as your new mother." Amira stared into her 'mother's' eyes, wondering how someone so horrible, could attempt to be so awkwardly nice.

~~~~~ Amira awoke to the sun shining in through her window. She would smile until she realised that nothing had been a dream. She was living under the servitude of a tyrant.
~~~~~ This morning, however, was unlike many of the others. Amira rolled over in her bed, and much to her surprise found QuiniBob.
~~~~~ "What is this?" Amira pulled the covers up to her neck and sat up. QuiniBob layed beside her, smiling.
~~~~~ "I have come to you... to make a proposal."

~~~~~ The first time that Amira ever saw QuiniBob, she knew that there would be something there eventually. Nothing sexual, but something intertwining with both of their destinies.
~~~~~ She entered into the room, admiring his black to blue hair, and he looked up at her. His first day as a servant, while she had been with the Empress for some time.
~~~~~ They stared at each other until Amira was well passed, being led through the halls by the Empress.
~~~~~ "Come, daughter." Amira immediately began walking faster.

~~~~~ "Wh... what kind of proposal are you suggesting?" Amira still covered herself with the covers.
~~~~~ "I believe, that in the end... we both have similar goals... you want to rule... as do I."

Soulless

~~~~~ The Empress had gotten the ultimate weapon against defenseless soldiers. What she hadn't realised, was the possibility that the same weapon could be used against her.
~~~~~ The Empress's weapon is better known as Medea. Upon contact with another's skin, Medea can absorb the life from anything living. That's what originally set her apart from the others of her kind.
~~~~~ Most Dryads, you see, heal those they come into contact with. Medea does the opposite. An effect that inflicts many Dryads, however, is that when they heal someone, they temporarily gain the injuries of inflictions of those they do heal. It's not the full force of the injuries that the other's had, but it still happens. Like that, Medea will absorb someone's life force, and it will drain into her system making her stronger.
~~~~~ Hence the weapon part.
~~~~~ There must have been something that made Medea this way. She used to be ridiculed as a sapling, laughed at and feared.
~~~~~ The only thing Medea really remembers was when she realised that her tree had no soul. When she realised that, unlike the others, she had no soul either.

~~~~~ They hated her so much. All of them. There wasn't anything that Medea could do about that. It's just the way God created her.
~~~~~ Medea had returned from the orchard. She had been saddened. She went to get fruit, and accidentally used her powers, killing all of the food.
~~~~~ She returned to the field where her tree was. She looked into the distance. Fire.
~~~~~ She reached the tree, the others cheering on the fire. Medea was crying, then she realised they were all staring at her in awe. Her tree was dead. She was not.

~~~~~ That was the first time Medea ever wished death upon anyone. One by one, she absorbed the life out of them all. Killing them.
~~~~~ That's what drew the Empress's attention to her. The fact that there was a field of dead Dryads, a burning tree, and one really pissed off green chick.
~~~~~ Now, Medea had the chance for more. Global domination. It may have been under the surveiliance of the Empress, but that mattered not to her.
~~~~~ She began to wander through the halls of the castle. She had done so the first time she had entered these halls aswell. It was all new to her.
~~~~~ Medea stopped at the window, staring at the garden, dotted with flowers. Littered with the business of life. "Don't jump."
~~~~~ Turning, Medea found Liepold standing behind her. "Excuse me?"
~~~~~ "Um... I said don't jump..."
~~~~~ "Just remember... never jump off of the top of the castle. You can't fly." The Empress smiled to herself, Medea staring in shock. "That was humour. Laugh." Releasing a slight giggle, Medea pleased the Empress. "Anyway, what I wanted you to know was what I expect of you. You work for me. Your purpose here is to kill. Not me, not my colleagues, but my enemies."

~~~~~ "...through the window. It was a joke... laugh." Liepold did his jazz hands, and still got nothing from the girl. She tilted her head slightly.
~~~~~ "What purpose does the Empress have for you?" Medea asked, placing her hands on her hips. Liepold gave a blank stare, and Medea shifted her weight to the other foot. "Because, apparently, my purpose is to kill. My life is to be used taking life, so I was just wondering what you were to do."
~~~~~ "Sex?"
~~~~~ "Oh... my life is used to kill... yours is to love..."

~~~~~ Remembering the first time she heard mention of the word love still brings tears to Medea's eyes.
~~~~~ The younger Dryads were huddled around, talking. All of them were expressing their admiration for someone, then Medea came in.
~~~~~ In moments she understood what they were talking about, but didn't feel quite welcome. They stared at a moment, and the words that stabbed in her heart forever were uttered within moments.
~~~~~ "And you? Nobody could ever love a soul-sucking freak!" Tears came to her eyes, and she ran.

~~~~~ "I suppose... that's true... I can't love anyone... I will only suck their souls dry... destroy their lives... and thrive through mine own as... as a monster..."
~~~~~ "I think there's good in everyone. There's bound to be someone to love you." Liepold wrapped his arm around her. "Just... calm down a little." He rubbed her shoulders southingly.

Despondency

~~~~~ The range of emotions that she was feeling at that moment was amazing. She held herself, in the corner of the small cavern. Shaking. Shivering. She was cold, hungry and scared, and all because the Empress had tried killing her.
~~~~~ Her name is NooNoo. She had been taken from normal life and forced to become a slave. She eventually escaped the castle of the Empress, but she was followed.
~~~~~ "...she knows where I am... she has to know... those two... the blue elf and the winged boy... they must have told her... she knows where I am... she can sense it... she knows I know she knows..." NooNoo rocked back and forth, mumbling the same things, over and over.
~~~~~ The Empress can transform into a dragon. She transformed, flew after NooNoo and, for some reason, gave up, retreating back to the solitude of her castle room.
~~~~~ As far as NooNoo knows, this is fiction.
~~~~~ As far as NooNoo's concerned, the Empress is in dragon form. Waiting outside the cavern. Waiting to kill her. That's why she doesn't leave, that's why she hasn't bathed and that's why she isn't going to find food. It's too dangerous.

~~~~~ Brimstone, fire, and death everywhere. That's what they called Bonnerland. NooNoo was born into said place, family killed minutes after her birth in the mines.
~~~~~ NooNoo was raised by the other slaves of Bonnerland, taught to hate and despise all that ruled there. When she came of age, she was being sold.
~~~~~ "What do you mean, forty? She's worth at least sixty! If you want us to sell her to you... it will have to be at least fifty-five!" the ogre screamed, stamping his feet, holding the chains that bound the girl.
~~~~~ "Fine! I'll go to fifty-six, but that's my final offer!" the strange creature licked his lips, then rubbed his finger along NooNoo's chin. "If you're good at what you do, girl... you might live to be one of my wives..."

~~~~~ Tears filled in NooNoo's eyes as she thought back to that horrible day. She had been so burdened her entire life, and then was sold as a sex toy.
~~~~~ The wind began blowing, rustling through the trees. A faint cracking noise was heard.
~~~~~ "...it's her... she's coming for me... it's her..." NooNoo rambled on under her breath.
~~~~~ Staring through the darkness of the cavern, she looked to the small hole of light that came from the opening. She stared at it, unwilling to move her eyes from the spot.
~~~~~ If she blinked, or faultered in any way, the Empress would take that chance to attack.
~~~~~ "...I don't want to die... I don't want to die..." NooNoo began crying, trying to wipe away the tears quickly before losing sight of the opening.

~~~~~ "Come on, girly. You know you like it..." he smiled, rubbing her chest. Tears rolled down her face, and she turned away from him, closing her eyes. Hoping it would be over soon.
~~~~~ She was chained to the bed, and had no chance of escape. The only thing she could do was to let him do to her what she feared, and hope she would eventually make it away.

~~~~~ The night came, shadows falling everywhere. NooNoo could no longer see the opening, and as far as she knew, the Empress could have been sitting right beside her for hours. Watching. Staring. Waiting for the moment to strike.
~~~~~ NooNoo couldn't take it anymore.
~~~~~ She counted to herself. "...three... two... one..." in a flash she was on her feet, shooting towards the opening.
~~~~~ NooNoo came to in the dungeon room, staring straight towards the Empress.
~~~~~ "Good morning, child. How are we?" the Empress smiled, delighted with herself.
~~~~~ "My head..." NooNoo began, noticing her throat was scratchy, her voice struggling.
~~~~~ "That's an after effect of Medea's powers on you. She sucked the life right out of you..." NooNoo stared at her hands in dismay. She didn't realise it at the time, but there were other after effects.
~~~~~ She made it out of the cavern, into the open air. She ran until coming to a river, stopping, standing at the edge. She crouched down, poking her fingers in.
~~~~~ She sat there, thinking of everything that had happened. Being born into slavery, sold and raped, escaping to be captured once more, becoming a slave... having the life sucked out of you... losing your powers...
Two Sided
~~~~~ He seemed the least likely to ever betray her. He was quiet, reserved, and never attempted anything without permission.
~~~~~ And somewhere along the line she stopped paying attention.
~~~~~ She would leave him alone, sitting in her chambers, and he would leave. He would plot and secretly work on his plans. He would later return to the chambers before she got back, and when she finally did they would have a delightful romp.
~~~~~ Little did he realise that the other sub-ordinates planned on over throwing her aswell.
~~~~~ His name is Liepold. He is the Empress's lover.
~~~~~ He aims to please.
~~~~~ He layed on the ground, unmoving. Not even breathing.
~~~~~ "Retrieve that male." the Empress ordered. In a moment, several of her servants rushed off to do her bidding. They dragged the young man back to her. "Are you alright?"
~~~~~ "Are... are you an angel?" he stared into her face, full of hope.
~~~~~ Without realising it, a tear came to her eye. She quickly wiped it away. "Bring him back to the castle."
~~~~~ She rolled over in bed, kissing his forehead. She stood, got dressed, and left the room. Opening his eyes once more, he smiled, and got out of the bed.
~~~~~ In his service to the Empress, he had learned to dress in under six seconds. He also knew how to get undressed in under three.
~~~~~ He creapt to the door, slowly opening it and checking the doorway before leaving.
~~~~~ Slowly walking down the hallways, making sure that the Empress was not to see him. A screach came from behind him, startling him, forcing him to jump. He turned around, seeing a dragon fly into the distance.
~~~~~ "Excellent." he whispered to himself. He continued down the hallways toward a darkened doorway.
~~~~~ Knocking three times, he stood there a moment.
~~~~~ He had never been in such luxury before. He was in complete awe over being brought into the castle, and that he was being tended to by the Empress herself.
~~~~~ "What is your name?" she asked quietly as she tended to his wounds.
~~~~~ The door cracked open, Medea face poking out through the darkness.
~~~~~ "What are you doing? What if we get caught?" Medea snapped.
~~~~~ "The Empress is out on a flight. This will give us enough time to..."

~~~~~ He had been consoling Medea for a while.
~~~~~ She had gotten upset, convincing herself that the only use her life had was to kill and destroy. Her purpose in life, according to herself, was only to bring death to everyone she held dear.
~~~~~ "You don't have to stay with me..." a tear rolled down her cheek.
~~~~~ "Please... let me help." he smiled, and they slowly got closer, and closer... and closer.

~~~~~ An hour later, a roar awoke them both. Quickly, Liepold glanced out the window, got out of the bed and threw his pants on.
~~~~~ As he ran up to the chambers, he heard her entering back into the palace. She was never to know about him and Medea. Never.

Deceit

~~~~~ She awoke in the morning. She was still amazed that it hadn't all been a dream.
~~~~~ Walking slowly through the hallways, she looked for the room to which her parents were resting. She opened the door. She looked in. She saw them, sleeping, and closed the door once more.
~~~~~ Then she turns around, and sees her brother standing there.
~~~~~ "Good morning, Eon..." Dré rubs her arms and nervously shifts her weight from one side to the other.
~~~~~ "Can't believe it's actually them... it's been so long, I... it's amazing." Eon said, keeping his voice low.
~~~~~ "I know..."

~~~~~ They both stood there in complete shock. They were staring straight at their parents, who were thought dead for who knows how many years.
~~~~~ "M... Mom? Daddy?" Dré's eyes began to water, and she covered her face with her hands in disbeleif.
~~~~~ "My children!" their mother stood before them. Their dead mother, who was not as dead as they had thought, stood before them, arms wide open for a hug.
~~~~~ "Mom!" Eon exclaimed, the first of the two to go and hug her back.

~~~~~ "If I had known that they were both going to survive..." Eon began.
~~~~~ "How did either of them survive? There... there were no survivors of that catastrophe..." Dré thought a moment, giving Eon a look that he didn't want to see from her.
~~~~~ "No... you can't tell me that these aren't our parents... they know everything of our past... they love us... and they're alive..." Eon began gettin upset.
~~~~~ "You're right... I'm sorry. Let's just... can we..." without even saying anything more, Eon knew what she was thinking of doing.
~~~~~ "You want to go back to the kingdom..."
~~~~~ "I just... I need to make sure is all..."

~~~~~ They watched as the entire faerie kingdom set aflame. The vibrant colours, the beautiful diamonds... all gone. The colours turned to smoke and fire. The diamonds suddenly shattered into millions of peices.
~~~~~ Even through the thick smoke, they could hear the pained screams, but they couldn't do anything to help. If they'd gone to help anyone they would have died too.

~~~~~ They stood before the rubble of a once grand kingdom. Even after all of the years, nothing had dared to clean up what once was an amazing heirarchy of peace and beauty.
~~~~~ Most of the fae folk who hadn't been present for the destruction had returned just after, to help put out the fire, save any survivrs, of which there were none, and they created a new city.
~~~~~ A small city, consisting of the Fae who had lost loved ones in the kingdom. They lived in peace beside the rubble, but solemnly spoke of it. The two of them stood before the city, staring at the rubble. "Let's go..." Dré choked on her own words before starting to walk towards the ashes.
~~~~~ They sat outside the kingdom. Everything was on fire, and they were watching it. Every now and then, a faerie would fly into the air, wings set on fire. They would be screaming in pain, and suddenly drop back down to the ground.
~~~~~ Both of them had started crying after the screaming began. But it wasn't long before the Empress came to help them. Even though both were in their late teens, it seemed they had regressed to a younger age, their crying making sure they couldn't speak.
~~~~~ A huge red dragon, sitting in front of them, staring them in the faces.
~~~~~ "Don't hurt us..." Dré cried.
~~~~~ They sifted through what was the faerie kingdom. Rolling over ashes and burnt objects, they headed toward the centre.
~~~~~ "What are you looking for?" Eon asked as he pushed aside a destroyed dining set. Dré bent down, picking something up and dusting it off. She turned to Eon. "What is it? What did you find?"
~~~~~ "Mom's crown..."
~~~~~ "So, I guess she left it behind when she and dad escaped..." Eon began.
~~~~~ "No... I found it on Mom." Dré stared down at the skeleton, tears in her eyes. "The couple in the castle are... not ours..."

Half Sight

~~~~~ He sat in the dark. Alone.
~~~~~ He pondered the words that had been spoken to him only hours earlier. He was just told that his parents were dead, and imposters were living in the room a few doors down.
~~~~~ He couldn't believe it.
~~~~~ He walked out of his room, checking through the door, finding only blackness. He continued on down the hall.
~~~~~ He opened another door, quickly going to the other side, and closing it again. He stood there a moment.
~~~~~ "Is someone there?" a tired voice asked.

~~~~~ He had been all alone. Nobody had wanted him. He was abandoned by his real family as just a baby.
~~~~~ "What's that?" a voice asked. He rolled over, staring straight up at them. In a moment he knew that they would save him from a life of solitude.
~~~~~ "Can you speak dear?" the woman asked as she raised him into her arms. Receiving no response, she looked to her husband.
~~~~~ "Bring him back to the kingdom... we can figure out something from there." with the young boy in their arms, they rode off towards their home.

~~~~~ He continued thinking back until a lantern was lit, bringing forth light from the darkness. Startled, Eon stared on at them.
~~~~~ "Good evening, child." Mom began as she sat up in the bed. "Is something the matter?"
~~~~~ Eon continued to stand before them, completely and utterly shocked.
~~~~~ "Are... are you alright, son?" Thedad quickly asked. Still, no response.
~~~~~ "Maybe we should..."
~~~~~ "Do either of you remember... when we all went to the beach? The first time, I mean..."

~~~~~ Everything was bright and sunny. The happy family wandered down toward the sand.
~~~~~ The only thing Eon truly remembers from that day is the happiness. The feeling of complete joy that he felt when he realised he had a real family.

~~~~~ They sat a moment, looking down at the covers, then to each other, then to Eon.
~~~~~ "You... don't remember... do you?"
~~~~~ "The first time... we went to the beach?" Thedad began. "That... that was the day that you fell... fell from the cliff." Taken aback, Eon once again stood in silence.
~~~~~ He had been standing atop a small cliff, staring down at the water.
~~~~~ "Eon! No!" Mom screamed. Startled, Eon looked back, slipped and fell down towards the water. Mom and Thedad ran to the cliff, looking down.
~~~~~ Eon sprouted wings and flew back to the beach.
~~~~~ They hadn't realised he was a shape-shifter.
~~~~~ "That was the day you first used your powers... to shape-shift, I mean... well, in front of us, at least." Mom smiled.
~~~~~ "Thank you. You can... go back to sleep now." Eon smiled, and left the room.
~~~~~ "What was that about?" Thedad asked quietly.
~~~~~ "I think that he suspects something..." Mom replied.
~~~~~ "I hope he figures it out." Thedad quietly responded before they went back to their slumber.

Vagabond

~~~~~ The darkness. Never would she be away from it again. She wished so much to kiss the sunlight, but knew that it would spell her demise.
~~~~~ There was only one thing in her life that kept her going. His name was Greer. Greer saved her life. Greer saved her soul. Greer took her heart.
~~~~~ She stared at him, she wasn't sure for how long, but eventually he noticed, giving her a smiled, and quick wave, then continuing on with his work. She loved him so much. Eventually, he looked over again. This time, he stopped what he was doing, and walked over to her.
~~~~~ "Is something wrong, Alaya?" Greer asked. Startled, Alaya fell back in her chair. He rushed over to her, helping her to her feet once more. "I'm sorry... but you were staring at me for over an hour..."
~~~~~ "I'm sorry... you just have the pretiest eyes I've ever..." Alaya began to blush. Greer smiled widely and hugged her.
~~~~~ "You're blushing, Alaya." Alaya quickly turned her face, but her turned her around once more. "Don't. It's good to see some colour in your face. It shows you've still got soul." He hugged her once more, then continued on with his work. She stood there. Unmoving.

~~~~~ She remember him. Her first love. She had loved him with all of her heart, but now she hated him so much that she couldn't bear uttering his name.
~~~~~ He turned her into a monster. And in revenge, she slowly sunk deeper into Hell's thrawl. He had done something horrible to her. But she, in return, did something much worse.
~~~~~ She remember, watching from the warmth of a tree. She sat there, watching as he lit the lantern to his home. The room lit, and he fell to his knees. He began to cry.
~~~~~ Before him lay his family. All of them dead. His mother, father, older brother and sisters. And his youngest siblings hung from the ceiling.

~~~~~ Now she could never do anything like that. The love that she had felt for him was nothing compared to what she felt when she thought of Greer. He was the love of her entire life, and, afterlife.
~~~~~ As far as she was concerned, she and Greer were meant to be together. Always.
~~~~~ "Greer... are we planning an attack on the Empress's kingdom?" Alaya asked as she wandered over to him. She disguised her reasons for speaking to him under the guise of saving their world, but really she just wanted to stand next to him.
~~~~~ To hear his voice. To feel teh heat from his body. To smell him.
~~~~~ "We plan on raiding the kingdom tomorrow evening... but I'm not sure anymore. We could lose a lot of people and..."
~~~~~ "I don't want to lose anyone. I want to save lives and..." Alaya began.
~~~~~ "LIAR! You want to kill! You're in for blood!" a young man shouted at her. Everyone in the proximity went silent. She knew who he was.
~~~~~ "Run boy... you're next." Alaya grinned evily. The child rushed off into the distance, as Alaya continued to suck on the lifeless body of his mother.
~~~~~ Alaya had killed the young man's only family. She forced him to watched as she sucked the life out of his mother, and then threatened to kill him next.
~~~~~ "You can't speak to her like that! She isn't any vampire, she has reformed! She can control her cravings, and doesn't kill humans! She..." Greer started.
~~~~~ "I'm... I can't express how sorry I am... I never meant to... I never would have dreamed that I would do such a thing..."
~~~~~ "You are the reason I wanted to fight against the Empress... now I'm not so sure..." The young man rushed off.
~~~~~ "Ongrios! Where are you going?" Greer yelled after him. Ongrios was gone.
~~~~~ The fear in the boy's eyes was amazing. He was young. About twelve, maybe thirteen years old. She smiled, his mother's blood dripping down her face.
~~~~~ She listened to his footsteps as he ran away. Thump-thump-thump... like a beating heart.
~~~~~ Before she could finish with his mother and rush after him for another kill, she looked down. She was covered in blood. This wasn't what she wanted. She was a monster.
~~~~~ Now, blood dripped from her eyes aswell. She was crying for what she had done. She felt honest remorse, but there was nothing she could do to make up for what she'd done.
~~~~~ It was night when Ongrios ran from the underground. She tracked him, from the trees. He was a swift walker, and no longer afraid of going through the woods. Not even going through alone was he afraid.
~~~~~ He eventually came to the castle. Alaya, wishing that he hadn't, stopped a moment. The Empress flew down. She transformed from dragon to human, standing before him, stark naked.
~~~~~ "What are you?" she asked angrily.
~~~~~ He knelt down before her, resting on one knee. "Empress... I want to pledge my allegiance to you. I am your humble servant."
~~~~~ Alaya's eyes widened as she heard his words. Not only was she a monster, but she turned a perfectly innocent man into a monster aswell.

Abashed

~~~~~ She felt horrible. She felt like not going back to see him, but she knew that she had to. He was counting on her. He knew that she had gone to follow Ongrios. He knew that she knew where he was.
~~~~~ He didn't know that Ongrios would go to the other side.
~~~~~ She entered into their underground world. It was the only home that she could remember anymore, and yet everything seemed absolutely different now. As if some apocalyptic change had happened that she wasn't aware of, and now she would have to watch her back everywhere she went.
~~~~~ Eventually, following the paths, she found her way to the main room, as she always did. She stood before Greer for a few moments before he noticed she had returned.
~~~~~ "Where is Ongrios? Did you catch up with him? He didn't hurt you, did he?" Greer stood from his seat, going over to check on her. She smiled, wondering whether the majority of his worry was for her, or for Ongrios.
~~~~~ "He... he went to... them. He's against us in the fight." Alaya muttered. Greer's eyes widened, and he sat on his small table, staring off into the distance.

~~~~~ "LIAR! You want to kill! You're in for blood!"
~~~~~ The words were still fresh in her memory. They were so wrong, but in the same instance, so true. It was amazing to her. She never thought that anything like this would happen. When she was younger, she would think about the future. How she would fall in love. Marry. Have children.
~~~~~ All of that seemed to be gone now.
~~~~~ "I'm going to marry a handsome man, and we're going to have lots and lots of babies!" a younger Alaya pranced around in a field of flowers, happy as ever, dancing in the sun.

~~~~~ It could never happen now. She was a monster. There was nobody alive that could love a monster such as she. There was no one that would marry such a creature. And, Alaya knew as well as anyone else, that vampires could never have children.
~~~~~ "Alaya... It isn't your fault. We'll get past this, we can..." Greer began. He placed his hand on her shoulder, and she slapped it off.
~~~~~ "NO! He was right. I am a monster. I'm blood-thirsty and ruthless! I killed his mother! He was standing right there, and I sucked her dry!" By now there were tears of blood trickling down her face. Everyone was staring. They'd never seen a vampire cry before.
~~~~~ "Alaya... come with me." Greer stood, wrapping his arm around her, and walked her out of the main room. They entered into his own, candlelit room, sitting on the edge of his bed. "Please believe me... it isn't your fault..."
~~~~~ "Yes it is... if I had never joined this... underground rebellion... he would not have left. He would not be spouting secrets of ours... he wouldn't be telling them where our base is." Alaya's face was now soaked in the blood of her tears.
~~~~~ "We can survive... we've gotten through life for this long. We..." Greer attempted to console her. It wasn't helping at all.
~~~~~ "Greer... I'm going to help you all get out of here... but I can't stay. I can't put you all in danger anymore... I..." he placed his fingers over her mouth to hush her.
~~~~~ "You aren't evil, Alaya. You aren't." Greer smiled, as he handed her a candy. "Would you like any?"
~~~~~ "Does it... does it have any blood in it?" Alaya asked nervously. Greer shook his head. "Sorry... no."
~~~~~ "You've sometimes gotten out of control... but it isn't your fault. We need you, Alaya. You are one of us. You're one of the family. We won't leave you behind." Greer smiled, taking his fingers from her mouth.
~~~~~ "You... you won't leave me?"
~~~~~ "Never." Greer smiled, and the door opened. A tall blonde woman stepped in.
~~~~~ "Sorry to interupt, sir. Mam'selle is here to see you." she smiled and left. Greer nodded, stood, and followed, leaving Alaya alone. She glared towards nothingness.
~~~~~ They were always laughing, smiling and having such a good time. Neither of them realised that she was there. Watching.
~~~~~ Neither of them realised that Alaya was the true love for Greer, not that faerie girl.
~~~~~ "Thank you so much, mam'selle. We can't express our appreciation for everything that you do for us..." Greer smiled as he took Iria's hand, kissing it. Iria began blushing.
~~~~~ Neither of them saw the anger in Alaya's expression every time the two of them touched.
~~~~~ Stepping out of the room, she looked into the main one. She saw that, once again, Greer and Iria were flirting. Flirting like two young teenagers who deserved to be hosed down.
~~~~~ Hosed down and shot. At least, in Alaya's opinion.
~~~~~ Angrily, Alaya turned to walk towards the bunking areas of the people. Startled, she stopped, realising that a young child was standing behind her. She knelt down before him.
~~~~~ "Hi. My name is Alaya."
~~~~~ "Hello, Ms. Alaya. My name is Jesus." he stood happily a moment. "You're pretty."

Falsehood

~~~~~ He stood atop the highest peak of the castle, wings outspread. He felt the wind flowing through the feathers of his wings, enjoying the peacefulness of it all.
~~~~~ He opened his eyes, noticing that a gigantic red dragon was flying overhead. He took warning, and leapt from the peak, soaring through the air, down toward the ground. He looked up, and the dragon was following him down.
~~~~~ He stood in awe a moment as he was her transition from menacing dragon to beautiful woman. She stood before him, completely natural. She smiled. He smiled, blushing a little.
~~~~~ "Avert your eyes." She said calmly. Nervously, he wirled around, shaking, and wondering when he could turn back. "May I borrow your shirt?"
~~~~~ "O... of course, Empress. Excuse my dimness." he quickly stripped himself of his shirt, and, turning, handed it to her. He stood there, watching her once more.
~~~~~ "Avert... your eyes." she said again. He, once again, swung around and began shaking. She placed his shirt on herself.

~~~~~ He can still remember the first time that he ever saw her.
~~~~~ He had been dragged into the castle at the age of twelve. He was nervous, and nearly in tears. The other servants left him alone in the room with the Empress.
~~~~~ "What is your name?" she demanded.
~~~~~ "My name... you... your highness... is... I am QuiniBob..." he stuttered nervously, she simply smiled demonically at him as she polished her swords.

~~~~~ "Quini... may I call you Quini? Because I'm going to anyway." she began. "I can sense great powers within you. Tell me... what can you do?"
~~~~~ "I... I can control flame... that... that is a main power..." he began.
~~~~~ "Why, Quini... do I make you nervous?" she asked, smiling like Satan.
~~~~~ "On... only because the shirt is only covering your top half... the bottom flies up and..." he began.
~~~~~ "Well, would you like to hand over your pants then?" she asked. His eyes nearly bugged out.
~~~~~ "Um... no?" he covered his face immediately, afraid she would attack.
~~~~~ "Then stop whining."
~~~~~ "You think she's beautiful, don't you?" Eon stared into his face, making him utterly nervous.
~~~~~ "I... well... yes, I... um..." QuiniBob no longer knew what to say. He was brought to her before he knew what the word sex meant, and he wasn't sure how to act around women, what to think, or what love was.
~~~~~ "Any other powers that I should be aware of?" she asked suspiciously.
~~~~~ "I can fly... th... thanks to my wings... and I can create limited illusions..." he began.
~~~~~ "Limited?" she asked quickly.
~~~~~ "Limited as in... um... acid trip. They don't last very long... I used to be able to shape-shift... but... that power seems to have been lost to me..."
~~~~~ "Come on, shape-shifter! I dare ya!" he screamed. He held the crystal high above his head.
~~~~~ That's when QuiniBob grew his wings. They sprouted from his back quickly, and he took off into the air. The man threw the crystal straight at him, shattering it in QuiniBob's eyes.
~~~~~ "AAH!" QuiniBob screamed as he tumbled to the ground.
~~~~~ The man smiled, laughing evily. "There, bitch. Shape-shift now." QuiniBob hadn't realised that with the destruction of that crystal, meant the man recieved a wish. He wished QuiniBob's shape-shifting power to disappear.
~~~~~ "You lost a power?" Empress questioned. QuiniBob nodded. "Interesting."
~~~~~ "Those are really the only powers I have..." QuiniBob began. She patted his naked shoulder.
~~~~~ "Don't put yourself down, Quini. I can see that you're going to surprise us all one day." the Empress walked off, going into the castle.
~~~~~ "You have no idea, my Empress." QuiniBob muttered under his breath. He smiled, and spread his wings.
~~~~~ He was no longer the nervous fellow he used to be. He was, however, an amazing actor.
