My very first night in London, England I slept 12 hours! I came over there from Ireland directly when I landed in Ireland from Detroit. I was so tired with jet lag. I was on my own most of this trip because I traveled alone but had the opportunity to stay with my uncle and see my other uncle who took me to Windsor Castle. They were my mother's brother's both have passed on. Mom is 84 years old now and it was 1980 when I went to England and with my mom to Ireland.
I took the subway from Uxbridge where my uncle lived and took photo's everywhere. It was so grand to see the old structures still standing tall as Buckingham Palace and Big Ben on the Thames shown below.
I can just imagine back when my mom was 19 years old living in London and working during WWII what it was like. I believe the people there must have been happy as my mom when the war ended and they celebrated as my mom said that night singing in the streets "Wheel out the Barrel, We're going to have a Barrel of Fun!
I had wonderful weather there on my trip with the sun out everyday as opposed to the rain. My older uncle who has passed away now and his wife took me to see Windsor Castle shown below with a guard standing erect.
England and Ireland is part of my growing up and it was great to go there at 26 years old especially with mom. At the time Prince Charles was still single but since I was married the people had no worry or did they? Ha.
