TO have been tested for the very last time on the standard of my written and spoken French is a very odd but welcome prospect. It's amazing suddenly not having to care whether this wank noun is masculine or feminine or which preposition this verb takes when the moon is full and washing's almost done. I don't think I've done stunningly well in French language, but I think I've put in a reasonable performance, which, in the end, was all I was capable of anyway.

Now sitting here preparing for my first German written paper tomorrow. This is intrinsically problematic because it's an essay paper, and we don't have the first clue about what we might be asked to write an essay on. The questions are normally depressingly nebulous ('Architecture makes life complete. Discuss' or 'Examine the view that "art is only justified if it informs"' are two typical examples which spring to mind) so there is very little point in doing anything apart from looking at various tricky aspects of grammar. Oh well. Got a nice weekend planned so just have to get through the bloody essay paper tomorrow and I can relax for a while. :-)

'ERUCTATION'. Isn't that a splendid word? :-)

The German exam went quite well, I think - saw a question on tuition fees and immediately set to work RANTA RANTA RANTA RANTA RANTA RANTA FULL STOP, and actually managed to occupy my mind for the best part of three hours on one thing and not utter one word, which must be a record for me.

Now gearing up for my literature exams which take place the week after next, and for which I have a formidable amount to learn for. I'll get through it though, and after those, I'm done. The end is definitely in sight. And I'm 22 tomorrow :-)

YES indeed, I am officially older, although just as immature :-)

I have had a lovely morning, the highlight of which was probably using my new electric toothbrush which makes my entire head vibrate, such is its cleaning power. More later :-)
