Faith

KJV

Ephessians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
8:25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
2 Corinitains 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight.)

Galations 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Mathew 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Mark 9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

1 Thessalonians 3:8 For now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.
3:9 For what thanks can we render to God again for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;
3:10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
3:11 Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you.

"Now Grace is a gift from God. BUT this gift is given to all men."

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

"BUT one must open this gift himself."

Luke 10:25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
10:26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
10:28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
Romans 4:23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

"That verse in Romans is talking about Abraham, showing that he had a belief in God, and in him was inputed the spirit of faith. I don't know if God inputed the spirit of faith into the lawyer that 'tempted' Jesus. But if you'll read the rest of the verses following Luke 10:28 you will see that the lawyer answered correctly. But Romans 4:24 (But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;) seems to say if you first have faith in God, He will input the spirit of belief in Jesus Christ into you.

John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

"And those as well seem to say we must first go to Father in if we believe just a little bit, we must... say... I DO BELIEVE, HELP ME WITH MY UNBELIEF"

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

My belief in Christ comes by the spirit, "THE QUICKENING" is the biblical term for it, others use the term, born again. I believe in Christ because I have no choice but to, His spirit is in me, and as long as it is, I have faith because I have the evidence within me. It's a awareness in my soul, that show's me without doubt that Christ is love, and loves me, and loves you. And ya know its something you can't even comment on objectively because you haven't been through it.
I think some misunderstand the biblical meaning of faith, it means to have hope in something not seen, to have evidence of God from within ones soul. Can one find God in a conversation, not unless its the Holy Ghost as one of the conversing. It's by faith and not sight, Jesus was so loving toward mankind that He would get down right rude sometimes

Father did the sign bit already, and He did it for a reason, to show us that mankind would always forget the signs, even the 12 did at times, those blessed of the 12 tribes of Jacob as well, the Hebrews, always forgot the signs and fell away from Father. He was letting this be done to show that man forgets signs, BUT true faith in something is a very hard thing to break. . . very hard indeed.

If you want more proof that Jesus Christ is the living Son of God, remember that while God is interested in your intellectual response to Him, He wants your heart most of all, and He works through faith because He wants us to have a relationship with Him through exercising the free will He gave us.

We have Father's word so we 'can' understand something's but like that very word says, many things are a mystery, its that signs vs faith thing, to many signs, ya start believing because of the signs and not because of Faith. God did the sign bit to show us we always forget, so He works on faith. . .
