Chal'dons are the same shape and build as ordinary cats, but their colours and markings are brighter and more individual. Orginally, theses were bred out in favour of the common colours we see today, but some Chal'dons survived in the wild. Their numbers have now risen so that we can begin to sell the beautiful creatures and hopefully begin a breeding program. They are not herd animals as such, but they do live in groups ranging in size from about 4 or 5 up to around 10. They can survive alone however, and each has a streak of independence. This means that they don't always get on with each other, but they seem to have recognised the same independance in humans. This means that they tend to be very friendly around people. They generally live in forests or fields, and they eat similar food to their domestic realitvies. This includes mice and other rodents, fish (if they can get them - this is somewhat of a delicacy), and strange insects that you can't help think they shouldn't be eating. They are quite intelligent animals, and very curious. A select number of Chal'dons belong to the Za'hari, a special group respected amoung the other animals. It is not yet completly understood what their role is, but we believe that their job is to forward the Chal'dons understanding and knowledge of the world around them. |
