Hylian Lore

Well kids, it's that time again; No, no, Nintendo's not delaying Zelda again. We've just got a story for you. It's sort of a tradition in the Zelda series to start out a game with a little back story, usually an ancient Legend that gets the gamer up to speed. The Wind Waker is no different. Below are the images that depict the story, and I tried to translate best I could. So, straight from the Japanese Zelda site, Classic Zelda would like to present the pre-story for the Wind Waker. This was not just an ordinary child though, he rose up, and fought against the evil in the name of peace and justice.[4]After banishing the evil, the hero rode off on another quest, leaving Hyrule in a calm and serene state.[5]But the evil still remained. Bannished yes, but not destroyed, for the power of the godesses is immortal.[6]As time went on, the people went back to the daily lives, continuing to worship the godesses who had created Hyrule and left the TRIFORCE as a sign of their power. In the darkness though, the great evil bided its time, waiting until the day when it would rise again.[7]Fear not though; for if the evil does return, so will the hero. Their spirits are bound together by the will of the goddesses, such is the fate of they who posess the TRIFORCE...
