Band Bio
In the summer of 1998, a couple of brothers who played horns were invited to play a ska song for their church. The younger brother just heard of ska and was very reluctant to play. The older brother had played ska just a few months prior for the church cabin at Falls Creek, which the younger brother didn't go to that year. They were a hit! It was very original! So this set of brothers decided to join with another set of brothers. A group of John and Scott Burch joined with Eric and Davy Lee and vowed "To only use our powers for evil and to eat Popsicles!"
John roped and hog-tied his guitar player friend, Stacie Pavey, Who could heard cattle as fast as lightning and eat it even faster without gaining or losing one pound! Eric used his hypnotic powers to lure marshal artist expert Antonio Myrie to beat drums. Thus a nameless ska band was borne.
After playing one really awesome show (which everyone loved) Eric and Stacie wanted to play 80's heavy metal rock music. Antonio liked that idea and Davy was almost never there. A power struggle went on between John and Eric.
Then, the band dissolved. John and Scott wanted to play ska and Eric and Stacie didn't, so The Brothers stopped coming.
Scott and John were very upset at the last band that they decided to try again. John knew Josh pretty well. He knew he played drums. So John asked Josh if he would play drums for them. Josh said sure.
John met Brian Coulter. He played trumpet too! And he sang! WOW! Brian knew a bass player named Andrea Williams. John and Josh asked Nancy Curry if she would play keyboards for them. They never found a guitarist.
Every week they practiced in Brian's garage and at John and Scott’s church. Nancy quit after 6 months. The Gadabouts played for a youth revival at John and Scott’s church. Then a week later they played at their schools "Battle Of The Bands!" Tragedy struck that night.
Brian and Andrea weren’t having fun in the band anymore. So they quit with no hard feelings. John and Scott went through many musicians for the next year. Scott even started Side Project Four, a side project. Josh played guitar when Antonio returned to play for a few months. But Antonio had other things to attend to so he resigned from the band.
Scott started this web site and his cousin Daniel helped. Well, a few days later Justin asked Daniel (who plays tuba but also having the ability to play trumpet) if he would play in their band. Dan didn’t want to but he knew three guys who would. John, Scott, and Josh met with this group of hooligans and decided to play with these guys.
Justin, Rob, and Aaron were called Blurt at the time. But everybody decided that The Gadabouts was just a better name.

And that’s how this group of rude boys got to be known as The World Famous GADABOUTS

So how exactly do you say "Gadabout"? well, click the little image to hear it!
