Muse. . .Muse? Has anyone seen my muse? Dammit!

Okay, so throughout life, we have all these people who just need to create. The artists, the actors, the writers--and yes, even the faithful little Sims creators. Why? Why is it so important for us to make?
Could it be a subliminal reminder from ourselves that this has been our main function throughout eternity?
Now I have three theories on the content of what's created by these talented little individuals.

1)Those who seem to share a vision with many--the writers of science fiction, or fantasy, the common vision of vampires or witches. Let's say these people are all more receptive to the memories of prior existences, and choose to write about them. Now because we're human, we don't necessarily question where our stories come from, and it strokes our egos to full erection to believe that WE created it all from square one. (Which technically we did, as per theory, but that's besides the point.)

2)Those who are introducing an entirely new idea. These are the people that are so desperate to hurry up and get to their world and idea because they think it's such a good one to try out that they carry that idea into this existence and create elements of it here just to get us considering it for a next experience--i.e. people who come up with stuff like the Matrix, or the 13th Floor, or even What dreams May Come.

3)Those who insist that their work and their characters all come from some mystical little muse who speaks to them through dreams and such. (Or, you know, that ugly little troll that lives in your closet that goes ballistic if you don't feed him every night at exactly two past three. . . Oh, never mind! Whistle to self and walk away. . . .)
Allow me to take advantage of this section to also clump in theories about ghosts, spirits, perhaps even psychics.
What I can offer you about these individuals is this: Let's say that not every soul chooses to participate in every realm. perhaps the last existence was too trying. There's no gaurantee that every world was a good one. Fear has to come from somewhere and my bet is that it came from worlds where demons did roam the earth and night was eternal.
So you have a group that stays behind and views what we put ourselves through from a distance. Muses may filter in just to give us hope and some insight into who we really are--thus giving us more reason to tough it out here and realize it's all a learning experience. Spirits may hover to help keep watch over us and keep us out of trouble. They may communicate through dreams or visions. As for psychics, maybe they know so much just to offer guidance to those who cannot remember. They choose to return, but to do it with the knowledge of our origins, just to offer an added hand.
This is all very important to the function of our immortal souls. Like in What Dreams May Come, our minds are forever the most strongest element of US. Because we sink into this dream-world so fully and entirely, we run the risk of having it become so real we may never awaken from it. We run the risk of having everyone else figure out the actual order of things, but we, ourselves, will continue to live out in this world, forever alone because we refuse to let go of the image and return to the basic.
Having elementals such as muses, psychics, and spirits, helps to guide us from this extreme and keep just one piece of us still linked to our core selves in the astral plane. It keeps enough of us open and aware of who we are to be able to one day manifest an end scenario powerful enough to propel us all back into our natural existence.

Still with me, or completely lost? Hang on, just a little bit more to go. the next section introduces the role of animals in this world and the artists' pallette world. Step into the light Carolanne. . . .
