Those of you worth knowing will recognize Benghali's name. Think back, kiddies, if you don't. He was one of the Thunderian refugees The Thundercats kept as honorary members in their final seasons.
Benghali is the oddest of my cats, and probably the most interesting. Unlike my other cats, who are all gray, he is an unusual tan color. With his offbeat coloring and his intimidating size, he looks more like a lion cub than anything else.
Of course, he would also happen to be the cowardly lion. The thing with Benghali is he's afraid of his own shadow. He loves attention and he craves a human's loving strokes. Just don't ever be the one to try and pet him.
Benghali is one of those cats that wants the attention, but he has to be the one to decide whether or not you can give it to him. If you try to pet him, he runs. Petting this cat is more an issue of putting your hand out and allowing him to pet himself.
For some reason, he's always been like that. My other cats all walk about as if they each own the place. Benghali, on the other hand, can be whipped into submission by anything. This leaves him a ripe target as the butt of the other cats jokes. Even the kittens occasionally exert their power over him, just because they can.
He is my second eldest cat and I've had him about four years now. He is the offspring of Sabrina's sister, Brownie, and a stray I had taken in at the time.
Sadly, the stray was later put to sleep and Brownie shipped off to my mother's house. But I'll get into that on another page.
