The Omen lives on. . . .

Damien is, without a doubt, a cat that lives up to his name. This pup was bad news from the start. The offspring of Sabrina, she was in labor with him for two days and almost died as a result. I had to spend five hundred dollars to get the little bugger out of her, not until he had already slaughtered the other two kittens in the litter.

As Damien grew, it became more and more apparent that he was just not right. For starters, he never meowed or purred. If you touched him as a kitten, he quacked. Until he learned to bark, that is. All people who were warned not to touch him and were foolish enough not to listen all learned their lessons. (And, thankfully, all digits have since healed.)

To look at this cat is to see evil in the flesh. he looks more like a gargoyle or gremlin than a cat. In portuguese, we call him "the Demon".

But Damien has been trying to turn over a new leaf. Now, a little over three years old, he has finally learned to purr. He even meows for attention. Of course, my dad and I are the only ones brave enough to attempt giving this kitty any type of affection.

You see, this is not the first time Damien tried going clean.

A year ago, I got him fixed, which they said might help his distemperment. And sure enough, he was like a new cat--meowing for your love and giving you that endearing little stare, "Pet me, go ahead. You know you want to."

Then as soon as you tried you lost a finger. But I have faith in my kitty this time around. I would never give my Damien up. (Who else would be able to handle him?) I consider my cats children, they all have their own distinct personalities. And what family would be complete without the token bad seed?

The link below gets you to my newest editions, the kittens.
