The Ollie

The Ollie is a basic move nowadays which consists of jumpinbg and bringing your board up with you. It was invented by Alan "Ollie" Gelfand in the mid-70s. It's easy to learn, but hard to master. It can keep getting higher and higher.

Ollie:

  • Place your back foot on the tail and your front foot in the middle.
  • Pop the tail hard with your back foot and jump very high.
  • Slide your front foot forward to even out the board.
  • Land on the bolts and roll away.

[Tips: If you turn while you ollie, put your shoulders parallel to the deck. That way you won't turn.]
