Kickflip

The kickflip, probably the most popular move these days. Invented by Rodney Mullen in the 80s, what was once considered a hard trick is now very basic. Basic, but sometimes very annoying to learn. Keep at it!

Kickflip:

  • Place your back foot on the tail and your front foot in the middle of the board. It's like the ollie position, only your front foot is a little more on the heel side.
  • Pop the tail and do the ollie motion, only slide your foot off to make it flip.
  • Jump really really high, you might not flip it very well at first.
  • When the board completes its rotation put your feet back on and roll away.

[Tips: Practice practice practice! The kickflip if one of the most annoying trick to learn! Keep practicing. Get your back foot out of the way that way it doesn't stop the rotation. Also, try to stay parallell to the board, don't angle your feet aither way. Staying straight means that you will land more easily and won't turn. Putting your front foot up the nose might also help.]
