The two raced out of the café, and were stopped by a mad looking Lulu, “where in the name of Spira have you guys been?”

“Huh,” Tidus gave her a confused look.

Lulu frowned, “Yuna's been kidnapped by the Al Behd Psyches. In return for her safe return, they want the Aurochs to lose.”

“What?”

“If they're only blitzball players, I doubt they'd do anything drastic. But we shouldn't take chances. Let's go get her.”

“I'm going too! This will be no problem! They're telling the Aurochs to throw the game, as if they needed to! I mean, how good a team can they be?”

“Wakka said the same thing. He'll take care of the game. We should go get Yuna. The Al Behd boat is in dock 4. Let's go.”

Tidus, Kimahri and Lulu made their way to dock 4, fighting battle after battle with machina things called workers. When they get a little ways down dock 4, they saw a big movie screen, broadcasting the game.

“The Aurochs are keeping the score tied with some excellent defense, folks!” Bobba’s voice could be heard.

Everyone watched as Wakka caught the blitzball, only to be tackled hard by an Al Behd Psyches.

“Ow! He'll feel that one in the morning!” Bobba’s voice could be heard again.

“But the referee doesn't call the foul! Wakka's taking a real beating out there.” Jimma added.

“Hang in there!” Tidus shouted, not liking to see Wakka like he was.

Lulu sighed, “He won't last. Wakka's always like that.”

Tidus lowered his head, “Ouch.”

Lulu nodded, “Let's go.”

Running, they saw a boat getting ready to take off, “hurry,” Lulu shouted.

They get there just in time, and jumped onto the deck. A door opens and an Oblitzerator, a machina, came out, shooting blitzballs at everyone.

“Ow, ow, ow,” Tidus yelled, jumping as he was hit.

“Come on,” Lulu yelled. She begins to cast lightning spells at the machina.

Tidus looked around seeing a crane, “we need to activate that!”

Lulu nodded and turned her attention to the crane. Tidus and Kimahri focused on the Oblitzerator.

It took them about fifteen minutes but soon the machina stopped moving, and a door opened, revealing Yuna and some passed out Al Behd.

Lulu ran up to Yuna, pulling her into a hug, “I hope you hurt them,” she said, running her fingers through her hair.

Yuna giggled, “a little.”

Tidus sighed, glad Yuna was okay, then he jumped, “we gotta tell Wakka!”

“Huh,” Lulu looked at Tidus?

“The game,” Yuna said.

“Oh,” Lulu remarked, shooting a red fire spell up into the sky.

Wakka saw the red fire and smiled, relived. “Thirty seconds left! The Aurochs are launching an all-out offensive! A long pass for Letty! It goes through!” Bobba shouted.

Wakka caught the ball Letty passed, taking aim for the goal. Letting the ball go he watched as it sailed, hoping . . .

“He shoots,” Bobba yelled.

The goalkeeper reached out, but . . .

“Gooooooal,” Bobba exclaimed.

Wakka grinned, and hung his head, exhausted.

“Unbelievable! The Aurochs win the match. 3-2!” Everyone in the crowd started to cheer, amazed.

Tidus and Yuna started to jump up and down, watching Wakka on the screen. “WE WON!” Tidus yelled.

“Yay! We’re in the finals. We did it!” Yuna looked up at the screen, clapping.

Lulu shook her head, “Not the most . . . graceful win . . . but.”

Tidus frowned, “Hey, don’t ya think you’re being a little mean.”

Yuna nodded, “meany Lulu.”

“Ahh so everyone’s gaining up on me,” Lulu backed away from everyone. “Fine. You’re right. I was being a bit mean. Sorry.”

----------

Datto looked at Wakka who was laying on one of the benches. “Sure you’re all right, Cap’n?”

“The game starts in a few minutes.” Letty looked at Wakka, worried, “you sure you okay?”

“We’re playing the Goers, too,” Jassu added.

Wakka nodded his head, standing up, taking a blitzball from Datto. He tried to throw it, but grunted in pain, dropping the ball.

Just then Tidus, Lulu, and Yuna walked in, and Wakka looked up.

“Miss me,” Tidus asked, raising an eyebrow when Wakka’s cheeks colored.

“Lady Yuna!” Datto cried.

“Are you okay,” Letty asked?

Yuna nodded, bowing, “All this because of me. I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!”

Wakka shook his head, “How can you let someone kidnap you?”

“Hey, let it go, all right?” Tidus said, laying a hand on Wakka’s shoulder.

Wakka nodded, and everyone, who’s not on the blitzball team, left the room.

Wakka looked to his teammates, “The game starts soon. No time for warm-ups. Ready?”

Everyone nods, “Lemme at 'em,” Tidus replied, grinning.

Wakka smiled at Tidus, “All right!” Looking at the other Aurochs, he started to speak, “I got something to tell you boys. After this game . . . I'm retiring. I promised myself this would be my last tournament. Win or lose, I'm quitting blitzball. But you know . . . Since we're here, we might as well win!”

“Yeah!” Everyone cheered.

“A-Am I on the bench?” Wakka looked at Botta, shaking his head no. He turned to Tidus.

“I'm warming the bench. He's taking my place. All right, boys, let's win this one! Let's make the Goers goners!”

“Let's blitz!” Tidus shouted. Everyone cheered, raising their arms. All the blitzers left, leaving Wakka and Tidus alone.

Tidus walked over to Wakka, “I saw you floating there, on the sphere.”

Wakka blushed, feeling ashamed, “Hey, you weren't supposed to see that.”

Tidus smiled, grunting in surprise, when Wakka fainted, falling into his arms.

“You really gave it your all, didn't you?” Tidus smiled, brushing the older teen’s hair out of his eyes. Grunting, Tidus moved Wakka, placing him on the bench.

“Sleep well, Wakka.” Tidus whispered, leaving the locker room.

Joining his other teammate, Tidus grinned, “all right boys, what’re we gonna do?”

“Win,” everyone shouted together!

“For Cap’n Wakka,” Botta added!

Everyone proceeded to the sphere pool.

“This is it, folks! In just a few minutes, the championship game!” Bobba shouts, over the loud speaker. “But who could have imagined . . . A championship game between these two teams? Our legendary Luca Goers going against . . . the horrendously ill-fated Besaid Aurochs!”

“This looks like history in the making, Bobba.” Jimma adds.

Unbeknown to everyone, a dark-haired man was watching the game, behind a pair a black sunglasses. Something was going to happen, the man sensed.

Tidus went to shake hands with the Goers Cap’n, but the man swiped at him. Tidus glared at the man.

“They're already going at it, folks! The Goers are taunting the Aurochs!”

The game went on for a while and around halftime, the crowd started to chant, Tidus strained to hear what they were saying.

“Everyone seems to be calling for Wakka, folks!”

Tidus made an ‘oh’ face, and swam out of the sphere pool thinking only one thing . . . gotta get Wakka. They want him.

“Say . . . Where is that player going? He's leaving the sphere pool! He may be injured!” Bobba’s voice sounds confused.

--------

Wakka looked up, surprised to see a wet Tidus walk into the locker room.

“Hey, how ya feeling,” Tidus asked?

“Better,” Wakka gave the blond teen a weird look, “what are ya doing in here?”

“They’re calling for ya.”

“Really?”

“Yep, go in! This is your game, not mine.” Tidus walked up to Wakka pulling him into a wet hug, “and you can win it, I know ya can.”

Feeling choked up, Wakka blinked in surprise, hugging Tidus back, “thanks.”

“No prob, now go get em!”

--------

“I wonder what's happening? The crowd is going wild!” Bobba exclaimed.

Wakka came out, swimming up to his team, a smile on his face. The Aurochs pumped their fist, cheering.

“Ah! It's Wakka! He's back on the field and ready to go! The Aurochs seem glad to have him back.” Bobba was right. The Aurochs were very happy.

5...4...3...2...

Wakka let go another shot, just as the timer was almost to 1...score! Wakka and his other teammates pumped their fist in victory. Everyone in the stands stood up, cheering.

“Unbelievable! The Aurochs win, folks! This is one for the record books!”

----------

Tidus raced out to the sphere pull, patting Wakka on the shoulder, giving him a thumbs up, as a way of congratulation.

Wakka grinned, making an ‘ah, it was nothing’ face.

Just as they were about to leave the pool, a bunch of Sahagin Chiefs surrounded them.

Tidus looked at Wakka, making a ‘what the heck’ face.

It doesn’t take them long to get rid of the fiends, and they swim out of the pool

“What’s happening,” Lulu shouted, as fiend after fiend poured into Luca?

“No Idea,” Yuna shouted, grabbing a little girl out of harms way.

----------

“Hmph,” A dark-haired man snorted when a Vouivre attacked him, “no match for me,” he muttered, soon turning the fiend into pyreflies.

“Auron,” the man turned around and sort of smiled.

Nodding, “yeah, that’s my name.”

“Sir Auron,” A redhead exclaimed, sounding surprised to see him.

“You’re alive,” Tidus muttered.

“So it seems,” Auron smirked.

Just then, two Garuda swarm the three men. Not speaking they started to fight the fiends, defeating them in no time.

Another group of fiend soon took the Garuda’s place.

“Hey, gimme a break!” Tidus moaned.

From up in the Maester’s seats, Maester Seymour surveys the scene below him, with a creepy looking smile on his face.

“Come Anima,” he shouted, summoning a great big aeon. “Destroy the fiends.”

Anima sort of nodded, then blasted out a very powerful pain attack, which obliterated all the fiends in Luca.

Everyone looks up in amazement at the large, ugly aeon, a look of relief on their faces.

----------

“You're really leavin', Cap'n?” Datto asked.

“Shouldn't you heal up first?” Letty added.

Wakka shook his head no, “Yuna needs me with her now. I can't be lying around in some bed.”

The Aurochs looked down, feeling sad.

“Yeah, but...” Datto started to say.

“Come on, look sharp! The blitz season just started. Don't make those faces, ya?”

Wakka looked at the trophy he was holding and handed it to Datto, “Well...see you, boys! You be good.”

“Cap'n...” everyone shouted, nodding their heads.

Wakka grinned, “I can't hear you!”

“CAP'N!”

----------

Yuna looked at Wakka, “Are you sure?”

Wakka nodded, “Never liked long goodbyes anyway. Sorry for making you wait, Yuna. From now on, I'm your full-time guardian.”

Yuna smiles, “Then welcome back, Sir Wakka. Good to have you with us.”

“Hey, it's good to be back, ya,” he looked at Lulu, “So, any news on what happened?”

Lulu shook her head no, frowning, “Not really. We don't know where the fiends came from. Maester Mika is safe and sound, thanks to Maester Seymour. That's about it.”

“Maester Seymour's aeon... It was so powerful,” Yuna said, sounding awed.

Tidus looked at Auron, this was the man that had traveled with his father, “Auron,” Tidus walked over to him, “everyone thought you were killed. I...is my father still alive as well?”

Auron looked at Tidus, “It depends on what you mean by "alive." He is no longer human. But then... I saw something of Jecht in that shell, haven’t you? You must have felt him when you came in contact with Sin. You did come in contact with Sin on S.S. Liki. I saw it on the news.”

Tidus backed away surprised, “no! It can’t be.”

“It is, Sin is Jecht.”

“No! That's ridiculous! No way! I don't believe you!” Tidus yelled, his face getting red from anger.

Auron sighed, “But it is the truth. You'll see for yourself. Come with me.”

Tidus muttered to himself, not following the man.

Auron looked behind him, “I'm going to offer my services to Yuna. Come.”

Tidus nodded, biting his lip.

----------

Wakka looked up, blinking in surprise when he saw who was approaching him, “Whoa.”

Yuna looked up, “Sir Auron?”

Auron nodded, “Yuna.”

“Sir?” Yuna felt amazed. This was the legendary Sir Auron, who had guarded her father.

Auron looked at Yuna, “I wish to become your guardian. Do you accept?”

Wakka’s eyes went wide, “You serious?”

Auron turned to Wakka, “You refuse?”

Yuna shook her head, vigorously, “No, no! We accept! Right, everyone?”

Wakka looked at Auron, his mouth open in surprise, “O-Of course! No problem at all!”

“But...why?” Auron turned to the black mage.

“I promised Braska.”

Yuna smiled, thinking about her father, “You promised my father? Thank you, Sir Auron! You're welcome to join us!”

Auron grabbed, Tidus’s arm, pulling him in front of him, “And...he comes too.” Tidus gave Auron a surprised look. Then he turned and looked at everyone else, smiling.

“Er...hey...guys!” Tidus looked back at Auron, wondering why the man wanted him in the group.

“This one I promised Jecht,” Auron said, as if he read Tidus’s mind.

Yuna nodded, “is Sir Jecht alive?”

Auron looked pained, but only Tidus noticed, “can’t say. Haven’t seen him in ten years.”

“I...see,” Yuna said, looking sadly to Tidus.

“I’m sure you'll meet eventually,” Auron said, meaning she’d meat him, when she defeated Sin.

Yuna smiled, “Yes, I'm looking forward to it!”

Auron looked to the pretty black mage, “What's our itinerary? Where are we headed?”

Lulu smiled, “Djose temple.”

A/N-----Hmm, in this fic, Auron is 25, he traveled with Braska when he was 15. Jecht when he was 27, would now be 37, same with Braska. Don’t ask me why, I just wanted Auron to be younger. Rin is 19, and he doesn’t run the Rin Travel Agencies, his sister does. (Called, Linna Travel Agency) This is after all an AU.

Linna is an Al Behd blitzball player-a free agent in the game. You meet her in Macalania Temple—Frozen Road. But if Rin shows up, she won’t be a blitzer, just someone who runs the shops. Me thinks anyway. Hehe.

Here’s some useless info...stuff that was written in TRI or this fic, and other useless, maybe interesting tidbits.

Yuna is 17, she started to train to be a summoner after Sin killed Chappu, when she was 14.

Rikku is now 15—she left Besaid where she was visiting Yuna when she was 12. Nobody knows what happened to her. Apparently she went to help her father and brother out with something.

Yuna and Rikku are not true cousins-Yuna’s real mother was killed by Sin. Then Braska remarried Rikku’s aunt.

Chappu was 18, when he was killed by Sin.

Wakka and Chappu had a little incestuous relationship...that didn’t go beyond kissing, and a little touching. It was Yuna’s fault! Blame Yuna.

Wakka is 18...He has no hate for the Al Behd. Has a crush on Tidus. Duh!

Lulu is 19, dated Luzzu for a few weeks when she was 16, Luzzu was 15, now 18.

Yuna moved in with Lulu when she was 16, (Lulu was 18) after Sin killed her adopted parents. They have since become very sister like close.

Tidus is 17-Was 14 when he and his parents moved to Besaid. (Step-dad and mom.) Not interested in Yuna.

Tidus used to live in Luca, where his step-father was a blitzball player–now retired.

Kimahri meet Yuna after Braska defeated Sin, and always lived nearby her keeping an eye on her. He’s 25 in Spiraian years.

Yuna has NO interest in Tidus! She has a crush on someone, we all know who. Or at least if you’ve read TRI, you do. Or at least have an idea.

Auron was never a monk, just a guardian.

That’s the end of the useless info. If you have any questions, review
