Chocobo Eater and Rin

So I’m now a guardian. I wonder why dad asked Auron, to ask me to be a guardian. Tidus looked over at the tall dark-haired man, not paying attention to where he was going.

“Aw, ack,” Tidus yelped, tripping over a stone.

Wakka ran to Tidus, helping him up, “you okay,” he asked. Tidus put one arm around Wakka, to steady himself.

“Dizzy,” he muttered.

“You hit your head, ya” Wakka asked, looking worried? He was also blushing, because now, Tidus was leaning his head on his chest.

“Mm,” Tidus nodded, his head, bobbing up and down on Wakka’s chest.

“He going to be okay,” Yuna asked, coming up to them?

“He hit his head,” Wakka told the summoner.

“Ah, okay. I see.” Yuna raised her staff, waving it over the two teens, “Cura!”

Tidus opened his eyes, looking up. “Thanks Yuna. Some guardian, huh,” he said.

“Nonsense,” Yuna shook her head, “everyone falls.”

Wakka nodded, patting Tidus on the back. “Come on, let’s get to the inn.”

Yuna nodded, and the three walked up to everyone else.

“What were you guys doing,” Lulu asked, when they rejoined everyone?

Tidus blushed. Oh great, just what I need, everyone thinking I’m a klutz.

Wakka smiled at Tidus, then turned to Lulu, “a fiend, yeah.”

Yuna nodded, “yes. It surprised us. But it was only a little thing, so we handled it okay.”

Tidus gave his two friends thankful looks.

“Oh, well next time call out to us . . . just in case more show up,” Lulu advised them.

Yuna nodded, “sure.”

Everyone looked up when they heard the noise of chocobos, and saw three chocobo riders.

“Lady Summoner, I presume?” One of the riders asked.

Yuna nodded, “Yes, I am Yuna.”

“I am Lucil, captain of the Djose Chocobo Knights,” the lady told everyone.

“And I'm Elma. We've been charged to guard the Highroad,” the other female added, “this is Clasko,” she pointed to the male rider.

Lucil looked at Yuna, “There have been reports of a large fiend appearing in this area, with a taste for chocobos. Do take care, Summoner Yuna, if you are to rent any chocobos.”

Yuna smiled, “Thank you. We will be careful.” Bowing, Yuna preformed Yevon’s prayer.

“Good. We should get back to our rounds. Farewell,” Lucil, waved, as she and her two knights rode away.

“Our prayers are with you,” Elma said over her shoulder.

Tidus looked at everyone, “A large fiend . . . Let's go get him!”

Auron shook his head, “Why?”

Tidus shrugged, “It's the right thing to do.”

“It's the right thing to do?” Auron repeated, laughing.

Tidus gave Auron a confused look, “What'd I say now?”

Still laughing, Auron said, “Jecht said that a lot, too. And every time he said it, it meant trouble for Braska and me.”

----------

Walking on the group came across a carriage and everyone, but Auron, smiled seeing who was by it.

“Hey, we saw the game! You guys are great!” A dark-haired man exclaimed.

“Congratulations, Wakka!” A redhead added.

“Hey! Stop loafing around!” The two looked up to see Elma and Lucil, giving them crossed looks.

The dark-haired man sputtered, “Uh . . . The lady summoner and her guardians . . . ”

Lucil shook her head, “This mission requires our full attention. We've no time to waste! Understood?”

The redhead nodded, “Yes, ma'am! Apologies, ma'am!”

“Carry on,” Lucil called.

With that, Elma and Lucil rode off.

The redhead looked at the small dark-haired teen, “See? Keep your head down, say "sir" a lot, and you'll do fine.”

“Right . . . sir.”

“Hey, Yuna. Even though Yevon rejected us . . . we still believe in you. That won't ever change.”

Yuna smiled, “Thank you, Sir Luzzu, Sir Gatta. But, you know . . . It's not too late for you to go back to Besaid, and . . . ”

“We should be going, sir!” Gatta pulled on Luzzu’s shirt, not wanting Lucil or Elma popping up again.

“Right,” Luzzu turned to Yuna, “Farewell, everyone.”

With that said, the two boys moved on.

----------

“We'll defeat Sin any way we can!” A loud voice yelled, sounding angry.

“But Yevon's teachings says . . . ”

“Enough!” The angry voice yelled, interrupting the distressed sounding disciple.

Everyone looked up and saw a guard storm off, leaving an upset women.

“I-I only meant to . . . ” the women muttered, looking at her hands.

Yuna ran to the women’s side, “Are you all right?”

“Lady Summoner . . . ?” the women questioned.

Yuna smiled, nodding, “Yes, I am Yuna.”

“It is an honor, my lady. My name is Shelinda. I am a disciple of Yevon.”

Wakka looked at Shelinda, “What was all that about? The Crusaders' operation?”

Tidus looked at Wakka, “You mean the one Gatta and Luzzu were talking about?”

Shelinda sighed, “I heard they were to use forbidden machina! I had to stop them.”

Wakka sighed, “That's bad, ya?”

Auron looked at Shelinda, “Let them use whatever they want. They still won't defeat Sin.”

Shelinda shook her head no, “But, it's not about defeating Sin! The teachings of Yevon must be upheld!”

Wakka nodded, “Yeah! Right!”

Shelinda’s face fell, “But you don't understand! The Crusaders won't even listen to me. And it's all because I'm just a lowly acolyte.”

“Don't say that. Well, I haven't been a summoner for very long myself, you see. Still, I can't put myself down every time I fail. People are depending on me. They're depending on both of us!”

Shelinda’s face brightened, “Yes! Yes, you're right, my lady. Absolutely right! Thank you so much, Lady Yuna! Now I feel I have the courage to finish my training.” Bowing, Shelinda preformed Yevon’s prayer, then left the group.

----------

“Whoo,” Yuna exclaimed, “the inn,” she pointed in front of them to a little travel Agency.

“Linna Travel Agency,” Tidus said, reading the sign.

“We rest here,” Auron said.

“No argument here, brudda,” Wakka exclaimed, yawning.

Everyone walked into the Inn, Auron walked up to the counter, “we need enough rooms for six,” the young worker at the counter smiled, looking at the records.

“Hmm, seems we have four rooms, two singles, and two doubles.”

“Good, we’ll take them.” Auron goes to pay . . .

“No need, Linna let’s summoners and their guardians stay for free.”

“Really,” Yuna asked, shocked?

“Yep,” the girl smiled, handing the four keys to Auron.

“Kimahri in single.” Auron nodded, handing him a key.

“Lulu’s with me.” Yuna pushed back her giggle, grabbing Lulu’s hand! Auron gave them a key.

“I’m taking the other single,” Auron let everyone know.

Wakka blushed, looking at Tidus. They did it again. Lulu . . . Yuna . . . women!

“Cool, Wakka’s with me,” Tidus yelled, imitating Yuna, grabbing Wakka’s hand.

Wakka blushed again. Auron rolled his eyes, smirking, and Yuna and Lulu, ran for their room, giggling.

“They’re giggling again,” Tidus muttered.

“Yeah, girls are wacky,” Wakka grinned.

“We heard that,” Yuna shouted from down the hall.

“Ohh, I’m shaking in my shoes,” Wakka said, laughing. Actually he was shaking in his shoes. Tidus was still holding his hand, and Wakka’s knees were getting weak.

“Well let’s go,” Tidus grinned, taking a key from Auron.

“Um..kay,” Wakka blushed, when Tidus didn’t let go of his hand, and pulled him to their room.

Getting to their room, Wakka rolled his eyes, one bed, again. Gah! I don’t know how much longer I can take this.

Tidus didn’t seem to care, once again, taking his outer clothes off. This time, Wakka doesn’t act like shy little girl and took his own outer clothes off.

“Ready to go to bed, Wakka,” Tidus innocently asked, going and climbing under the covers?

Oh yeah! You bet! “Um, sure,” Wakka slowly walked over to the bed, climbing in next to Tidus.

Wakka bit his tongue, forcing a moan back, when Tidus once again, cuddled up next to him.

“Night Wakka,” Tidus sleepily murmured.

“Night Tidus.”

Lulu looked at Yuna, who was laying next to her, “so Yuna? Who’s the lucky person?”

Yuna looked at Lulu confused, “huh?”

“Oh come on, you’ve always had that, ‘I’ve got a crush’ look.”

“Oh, well the person I HAD a crush on disappeared three years ago.”

“Oh!”

Yuna sadly nodded, “I haven’t seen her since.”

“What was her name?”

“You know her . . . um Rikku. Now before you’re grossed out. Rikku and I are not really cousins,” Yuna said, sounding defensive.

Lulu softly laughed, “shh, I wouldn’t think that even if she was your real cousin. Sometimes you can’t help who you fall in like with.”

“Oh! Okay then.”

“I’m sure she’s safe, wherever she is.”

“I...I hope so.”

----------

The next morning, Tidus woke up, once again alone. Getting dressed, he exited his room, and was on his way out of the Inn, when he bumped into someone.

“Bentuh sa.” Pardon me.

Tidus looked up at the al behd women, “Sorry?”

“Ah, forgive me, sir. I meant to say "pardon me," but it came out in Al Behd.”

Tidus nodded, “Oh, you're an Al Behd?”

“I am Linna, owner of this establishment. Heci du saad oui.” Nice to meet you.

Tidus gave Linna a blank look.

“It means, "nice to meet you."” Linna said.

Tidus nodded, “oh, well helly doo sad wee to you, too.”

Linna shook her head, laughing, “If you are interested . . . Al Behd primers can be found all over Spira. Finding them and learning our language might be fun. Here, let me give you one in commemoration of our meeting. Although you might want to be careful where you speak our language.” Linna handed over a al behd primer.

“Yeah, Al Behd aren't liked much.”

Linna gives Tidus a puzzled look

Tidus blushed, “Oh, sorry!”

“Ed ec y chesa.” It is a shame.

“Ahh! Someone, help! The chocobos!”

Auron looked at Tidus, “That's our cue, let's go.”

“Oh. Thank you for your help. Please, use this,” Linna handed over some mega-potions.

Running outside, Tidus looked for his friends.

“To the chocobo corral!” Tidus nodded, following Lulu.

Getting to the corral, they saw a large Chocobo Eater, trying to attack some chocobos, a lone fighter was trying to keep it away from them.

Everyone winced, when the fiend lashed out, pushing the man far away, knocking him out.

“Come on,” Wakka yelled, “quick. Knock it over.”

The fiend was slow, and it wasn’t long, before it was knocked over. “Push!” Auron yelled, and he Tidus, Wakka and Kimahri started to push it, till it went over the edge of the cliff. Everyone sighed, when a bunch of pyreflies floated up.

After they defeated the fiend, Auron raced over to the fallen man, picking him up. Looking at his face, Auron paled. He wasn’t sure, but he thought he recognized the man. It was ten years ago. He must of been around nine. Him and his . . . oh. Linna! It was him and Linna who saved me. Rin. Hmm, he sure grew up.

Yuna looked up and nudged Lulu, pointing to Auron. Lulu leaned over and whispered something in Yuna’s ear. Yuna nodded, smirking. Both girls turned back to Auron, who seemed memorized by the man in his arms.

“Will he be okay,” Auron looked up, seeing the two girls looking at him?

“Yeah, Yuna. Maybe a cure or two will help.”

Yuna nodded, readying her staff, “Cura.”

Rin coughed, looking at Auron in surprise. “Huh,” he blushed?

Auron set the teen down, “the fiend knocked you out. Yuna cured you.” He pointed to Yuna.

“Oh! Thank you, lady summoner.”

“Just Yuna, will do.”

“Okay then, thank you Yuna.”

Rin looked back at Auron, his eyes going wide, “I know you!”

Auron smiled, making the teen blush, “Auron . . . we met ten years ago.”

“I was nine.”

“You saved me, after the fight with Sin.”

Rin blushed again, “nah, my sister, Linna did most of the saving. I was only nine.”

“Yeah, well, you kept me company, while I recovered.”

Yuna looked at Lulu, and Lulu shrugged her shoulders. “S...so you saved Auron.”

“Yes he did. Um.. after the fight with Sin, I was so overcome with grief, I didn’t attend to my own wounds and passed out. Rin and his sister found me.” So he was half lying, but he couldn’t tell them the truth. That he went back, to duke it out with Yunalesca and the female nearly killed him.

“Because my dad died,” Yuna questioned?

“Yes.” And Jecht, sorta.

“Oh! Thank you, Rin!” Yuna smiled at the al behd.

Rin nodded, blushing yet again, “no problem.”

“Come on let’s get back to the inn,” Wakka walked up to the foursome.

“Yeah,” Tidus agreed, coming up.

----------

Linna looked up, her eyes going wide, seeing Rin. “Rin!”

“I’m okay. These people defeated the Chocobo eater.”

Linna gave everyone a thankful look, “Have you an interest in renting some chocobos? As a token of our gratitude, the first time is free of charge. Please ask the attendant, if you wish to rent.”

The attendant smiled, “Thank you so much for saving the chocobos!”

“Oh, thank you,” Yuna exclaimed. “But . . . can we rest for a few hours,” Yuna asked?

Auron raised an eyebrow, but didn’t question Yuna’s reason for wanting to rest.

“Sure,” Linna smiled.

----------

Rin eeped, when someone grabbed him, pulling him into one of the inn’s rooms. “What’s going on,” he exclaimed, feeling scared?

“Shh, no need to be scared,” a female voice spoke from behind him.

Rin jumped around. “What are you doing,” he asked, surprise replacing his fear?

Yuna looked at Lulu and both girls shared a meaningful look. “Well, you see,” Yuna started.

“Oh we’ll just come out and say it,” Lulu said, when Yuna stopped, unsure of how to go on. “We saw you fighting, before the fiend knocked you out.”

“Yeah and you were doing a really good job, what with being all alone,” Yuna added.

“So Yuna would like . . . ”

“Will you be my guardian,” Yuna asked in a rush?

Rin was speechless. “What?”

“Guardian. You. Be. One,” Lulu said, sharing another meaningful look with Yuna.

“Yes, please.” Yuna added.

“Well I uh . . . gosh! Really!”

Yuna giggled, “yes, really.”

“Well okay then. I accept.” Rin ran a hand threw his shoulder length hair, feeling slightly overwhelmed. Am I really going to be a guardian? Wow! That . . . mean’s I get to see more of Auron . . . wait! Why do I care about that?

“Thank you, Sir Rin,” Yuna smiled, “we’ll meet you out in the lobby in one hour. Don’t tell the others. We will.”

“O...okay,” Rin waved, “see ya.”

“Bye.” Yuna and Lulu told the teen, giggling when he was out of sight.

“Think Auron will kill us,” Yuna laughed, looking at Lulu?

“It’s quite possible. Quite possible.” Both girls looked at each other, and started to laugh.
