Categorization of Charmed enemies
|
Demons:
The demons in the
Charmed
mythology are categorized as the amoral, soulless, evil figures with
extremely strong magical abilities and dark powers. They spread evil,
sadness, fear, distrust, loss of hope and death. The demons here appear
in human forms but they also have hideous, demonic forms. There are,
however, a few exceptions of demons being pure evil. The most prominent
example of this is the demon Belthazor, who had a soul due to his
half-demon, half-human heritage. His alter-ego,
Cole Turner, turned good when he lived with Charmed Ones, the
protectors of the innocent. The only other known demon with a soul was
the baby demon-beast who appeared in the show's sixth season.
Humans
can also become demons if they lose their soul, the seat of their
morality and conscience. There was in fact a Demonic Training Academy
run by an upper-level demon named Kellman (season 3) with the graduates
immediately serving
The Source. However, just as humans can be trained to lose their
humanity, demons can also turn good, especially if they stay in an
environment basked in light and goodness, just as what happened with
Cole Turner. |

Warlocks: Warlocks, or evil witches in the Charmed
mythology, are different from demons. Warlocks can be also male or
female, but they are regarded second-grade citizens in the Underworld. A
warlock's main goal is to kill a good witch and steal his or her powers.
The first ever warlock that the sisters as Charmed Ones fought and
killed was Piper's fiance, Jeremy Burns , who posed as a television
reporter in season 1. (However, as young witches in 1975, before Phoebe
was born, they also young Prue and Piper recited a spell with their
mother Patty to counter the spell of Nicholas' immunity ring.) No
warlocks have become the Source as the next Source is chosen either by
blood line, magic or Underworld demon battles, although there have been
mutinies led by powerful warlocks, like Devlin in Season 4 ("Muse to My
Ears") and Bacarra in Season 5 ("A Witch in Time"), but they all have
failed. |

List
of major Charmed enemies
|
The Avatars: The Avatars first appeared in the Season 5 episode
"Sam I am" and returned in "Centennial Charmed" (The 100th Episode). He
wanted Cole Turner to become an Avatar, but it was too late when Cole
got vanquished. He recently became a major recurring character. After he
achieved his goal of getting The Charmed Ones and Leo to help get the
world to become a "Utopia" where he and the other Avatars dictate
everything that happens, he was soon forced to give up this world when
the Charmed Ones (the greatest force of good) and Zankou (the leader of
the demons) realized his plan and threatened him with death. His
character is indirectly to blame for the deaths of Cole Turner and Kyle
Brody. |
|
Barbas, the Demon of Fear -
Billy Drago: As the Demon of Fear, he was supposed to appear only in
every 1,300 years on Friday the 13th to kill 13 female witches. But when
he appeared in season 1, he was defeated by the Charmed Ones which led
him to try to find a way to repeatedly come back and get his revenge. In
Season 1, he almost drowned Prue, but she was saved by the ghost of
Patty, the girls' mother. He reappeared in Season 2 with the help of a
mortal man, a convict named Bane Jessop. Piper froze him and he was
banished at midnight. Bane helped him because Barbas promised him
wealth. Barbas appeared again in Season 5 when he acquired new powers by
tricking other demons to continue his revenge on the Charmed Ones but
was banished back to the
Underworld by the three with Paige's power. In Season 6, he was
given a reprieve from the Underworld after he tricked The Tribunal into
asking him play the devil's advocate on the supernatural case against
the Charmed Ones. He then went on to help Gideon kill
Wyatt,
but when Gideon was killed by
Leo, Barbas
himself wasn't vanquished; instead he went on hiding. In the first
episode of Season 7, Leo was able to hunt down Barbas with the intention
of killing him for trying to help murder Wyatt. Barbus tricked Leo into
killing the elder Zola by manipulating his fears and anger, thus driving
Leo to near breakdown. Phoebe and Paige took up the hunt instead and
banished Barbas. There's a possibility of Barbas coming back, as he was
billed the "Comeback King" of the series, and when he was banished back
to the Underworld by Phoebe and Paige, he screamed, "Fear always comes
back." Interestingly, even though Barbas has appeared in almost every
season of the series, he never became the main villain. |
|
Belthazor: The demon with a soul and half of
Cole Turner. A very powerful, but not invincible, demon, Belthazor
had the ability to throw energy balls, shimmer (the demonic version of
teleportation), telekinesis, and many other powers that he picked up or
stole from other demons. Belthazor had a red and black body and was
bigger and taller than his human half. He was an infamous demon known by
most of the Underworld. He was sent after the Charmed Ones by the Triad,
a group of evil who were later killed by Cole. Belthazor got weaker when
Cole fell in love with Phoebe, as his good half took over for her and
the Triad was killed. A woman came to Cole Turner to avenge the death of
her fiancé (killed by Belthazor, back in a time when he was truly evil)
and she wouldn't stop until Belthazor was dead. She got her wish when
she threw a potion made by Phoebe to kill Cole's evil half. Belthazor
was gone, but Cole Turner remained alive. Belthazor would re-appear
Cole's form in season 5 when he joined the Avatars and created an
alternate world where he was not invincible. Then Phoebe threw the
potion that Piper and Paige made and that ultimately killed Belthazor
and Cole Turner, who now spends time in
Purgatory. |
|
Rex Buckland: A demon commissioned by
The Source through The Council to kill the Charmed Ones beginning
with the oldest sister, Prue. He, along with Hannah, posed as the new
owners of Buckland's Auction House and had the power of
astral projection and transmogrification or morphing. They tried to
steal the powers of the sisters but the powers were later returned with
the help of Leo, their whitelighter. |
|
Gideon : One of the most powerful Elders with mutilple powers
including invisibilty, telekenisis, molecular combustion, thought
projection,
telepathy, shapeshifting, conjuring, molecular immobilization,
energy balls etc, Gideon was entrusted with the creation of Magic School
and was awarded the position as headmaster for the institution where
young magical beings can learn about magic. While he originally pushed
for the Elders to allow Piper and Leo to get married, once Wyatt was
born, Gideon's attitude toward the couple changed drastically. He feared
that all of the power that Wyatt possessed would cause him to turn evil
and become an unstoppable threat. Gaining the sisters' confidence,
Gideon used his position as a friend of the family to get close to
Wyatt. But first, he hired a team of Darklighters to get Leo out of the
way. He conspired with his evil counterpart in a parallel dimension to
distract both the good and evil Charmed Ones so that he might kill
Wyatt. The sisters realized his plan in time and stopped him, but only
temporarily. Conspiring with Barbas, who used his powers to distract the
sisters and Leo, Gideon managed to kidnap Wyatt, killing Chris in the
process. Angered by his son's death, Leo tracked down Gideon in the
Underworld and killed him. Unlike other Whitelighters and Elders, when
Gideon orbs his orbs are purple. |
|
The Seer: A wise upper level demon who is capable of seeing into
the future. She has served multiple Sources and does not kill unless
provoked. She has a very powerful evil magic and she has imprisoned
several powerful demons in her lair who have challenged the Source she's
serving. For the last Source she served, she teamed up with Cole by
tricking him into taking The Hollow in and absorbing the Source's powers
so that the Charmed Ones could vanquish The Source. Her plan was later
revealed as stealing The Source's powers and using the power of the
Source inside Cole and Phoebe Halliwell's womb as breeding ground for a
new, stronger Source. She then stole the unborn Source in Phoebe with a
spell and placed it in her own womb. With the Heir of the Source in her
womb the Seer became temporay leader of the Underworld and mother of the
next Source. but its power was so strong that the Seer could not control
it and in the end, she was vanquished when the Charmed Ones tricked her
into over using its power (the more its power was used the stronger it
became within its bearer, over using its power caused an overload),
along with every other demon in the Underworld's Coronation Chamber. Not
to be confused with the Seer of Season 7, portrayed by Charisma
Carpenter. |
|
The Triad: The Triad was a group of three high-level demons that
direct some supernatural matters. They were immensely high in the evil
hierarchy; second only to The Source. When they became aware of the
existence of The Charmed Ones they began sending demons to destroy them,
including the demon Belthazor. The members of the Triad appeared as
human males, but had blackened eyes. Each had the ability to commune
directly with The Source, the power to throw energy balls, the ability
to teleport, and the power to manifest athemes at will. Though their
membership was known to change, the Triad was only ever comprised of
three demons at a time. Belthazor killed the members of the Triad after
they discovered his love for Phoebe Halliwell. A new Triad appears in
season 8, it is not known at the moment how but they have something to
do with Billie's sister Christy's disappearance. The new Triad is
composed of the demons
Asmodeus (who is the leader), Baliel, and Candor. They had a sect of
Scather demons imprison Christy for all these years. A demon named Xar(A
former member of The Triad) tricks the Charmed Ones into attacking the
Triad. When Baliel tries to throw a fire ball at the Charmed Ones, Piper
freezes the Triad (But Candor leaves before this), and Paige orbs
Asmodeus in the range of Baliel's fire ball, thus killing Asmodeus, and
Piper blew up Baliel. After this Candor reappears, and then disappears
again. He then freezes everyone with Christy and tells her that "they
gave her all that she needed" before teleporting away. Candor was the
cause of Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins deaths, thus causing Christy to kill him.
It turns out that the Triad can exist in a spiritual form until they
have the power to return. It turns out that the Triad has been using the
demon Dumain(Who Billie and Christy think is their imaginary friend made
flesh) to manipulate Billie and Christy. The Triad has Dumain manipulate
the sisters into summoning the Hollow, but at the same time the Charmed
one also summons it, thus splitting the Hollow between the sisters. The
Triad was then killed by the Charmed Ones with their newfound power.
When the need to shape history came into need, the Charmed Ones and
Billie went back in time to stop Dumain and Christy from warning the
Triad, so they once again vanquished the Triad once and for all without
the Hollow and then proceeded to kill Dumain and Billy accidentally
killed Christy when she ricocheted her fireball back to her. |
|
The Source of all evil - The name of the (former) ruler of the
underworld. Mentioned in the 15th episode of season 2 and first
displayed in the last episode of season 3, he has a tattooed face that
was partially mutilated when he seized power (season 4). Among his many
demonic powers: throwing fireballs, flaming teleportation, manipulating
flame, shape-shifting, summoning demons and evil beings, mind-control,
possession, etc. He sent numerous demons after the Charmed Ones. His
greatest victory came when Prue was killed by his assassin Shax. The
Source renewed his war against the Charmed Ones after they were
reconstituted; his obsessive pursuit of their deaths eventually led to
his own demise. However, his powers were absorbed by Cole Turner (who
was mortal at the time), who eventually succumbed to the evil within him
and became the new Source of All Evil. Cole attained the full powers of
the Source in a ceremony that involved the Grimoire, the dark
counterpart to the Book of Shadows. Cole was vanquished by the Charmed
Ones after his reign began. His widow, Phoebe, was carrying the child of
the Source, a being of pure, soulless evil that could control its host
from the womb. The unborn child was stolen by the Seer in her bid to
become the new Source, but in the end both were vanquished for good by
the Charmed Ones. Years later, a demon named "Mandi" used baby Wyatt's
powers to bring the original Source back from the dead, but his presence
was short; very soon after his resurrection, the Source was vanquished
once again, thanks to the Charmed Ones. |
|
Hannah Webster: Rex's lover and ally at Bucklands. A low level
warlock with the power to make fire and transform into a
panther.
Hannah was not good at keeping her dislike of Prue a secret. She
accidentally killed Rex when Prue moves him in front of her during one
of Piper's freezes. Hannah was then pulled down into the Underworld and
never heard from again. |
|
Zankou
A powerful demon who was an enemy of
The Source of All Evil. The Source incarcerated him out of fear,
most likely because Zankou was a demon that could match the Source in
strength. After the Source died for good and the threat from the Avatars
neared, a group of demons freed him. He had the power to shoot waves of
powerful energy, can regenerate when harmed, throw
energy balls,
shapeshift, sense things in ways no one else can, teleport in
several ways, read and scan minds telepathically, has many demonic
powers (like the Source), and can absorb the powers of whoever he kills
as well as many more. He is intelligent and, unlike most demons, is more
concerned with survival than a foolhardy ambition to fight the war
between good and evil. Zankou, like The Source had an insane obsession
of enacting bloody vengeance on the Charmed Ones. Zankou attempts to
gain control over the Shadow in the Nexus in order to get full control
of the
Book of Shadows and turn it evil. Zankou was vanquished when the
Charmed Ones recited the spell to destroy the Nexus while its Shadow was
still inside him. |
|
Christy Jenkins A very powerful witch and Billie's older sister,
who introduced herself the second half of the 8th season. She was
kidnapped when she was 6 years old by Scather Demons because she is the
key to "ultimate power". The Scather Demons kept Christy safe in the
Underworld in preperation of the return of The Triad, a trio of powerful
upper-level demons who were to guide Christy in the way of evil. Fifteen
years later, Billie found her and took her to the Charmed Ones' Manor
where she and Billie are staying at the moment. Billie began teaching
Christy how to control her powers of pyrokinesis and telepathy. |
List
of minor Charmed enemies
Here are the minor enemies in Charmed
Demons
|
Abraxas: Abraxas is the demon of lies and deceit. Abraxas lives
in an astral plane and is known to destroy good witches by demonizing
their powers. He managed to steal the Charmed Ones' Book of Shadows.. |
|
Andras: Andras, the Spirit of Rage uses anger as a portal to
enrage his victims until they commit a grievous act of violence.
Although the rage leaves the victim after the act is committed, the
violence usually serves a greater purpose, making Andras a powerful foe.
The Spirit of Rage has used his abilities to incite wars that lasted for
decades and redefined continents. In addition, due to his insidous
nature of his work, Andras can be extremely difficult to detect. |
|
Antosis: A demon who worked with the Imp Master to kill good
samaritans and destroy neighborhoods in order to claim territory. |
|

|
Banshee: Banshees, in Charmed, are former female witches who are
turned into Banshee demons that happens to feed on souls and great pain.
They have white hair, vampiric fangs, and wear tattered rags. They are
attracted to a human's inner cry and driven to destroy them. They emit a
high-pitched cry, inaudible to human ears, and use it like sonar to zero
in on the waves of pain emanating from the stricken. Once they've
located a victim, their call turns into a scream that kills: capable of
shattering glass, liquefying internal organs, and bursting blood
vessels. Banshees are also very strong, and possess the ability to leap
great distances. A Banshee's scream may kill a human, but it has a very
different effect on a witch in pain, turning them into banshees. This
transformation is not permanent until the newly formed Banshee kills,
and can be reversed. If the source of the Banshee's pain can be
eliminated, then they will revert to their former selves. Molecular
Combustion can vanquish a Banshee. |
|

plan to lure the Charmed Ones out. She lured teenagers by tapping into
common emotions and fears, mess them up and release them in blanked
state of minds. |

darts at his victims. He can be vanquished with the following

anyone to get their bounty. They have the power to throw energy balls or
lightning bolts to capture their targets and use demonic teleportation
to get around. |
|
The Brotherhood of the Thorn: The Brotherhood of the Thorn is an
elite society of upper-level demons. They answer directly to the Source
of All Evil who selects the members himself. The members take a bload
oath, a life-long pledge of loyalty. One of their goals was to get a
hold in the human world by taking over businesses. Belthazor was a
member of this elite club. Other known members were Tarkin, Klea, and
its last leader Vornac before the group was dissolved. A mind-reading
demon, Raynor was the mentor of the group. Raynor used to guide and
train the members of the Brotherhood before Cole killed him. |

|
Burke: A demonic bounty hunter. He uses magical crystals and
cryogenic containers. This demon is able to instantly freeze and thus
keep his prey as trophy. |
|
Celerity Demons: Powerful beings who can move at the speed of
light and feed off of lesser demons. Proud, solitary, aggressive and
with quickness faster than human sight, they are difficult to both find
and fight. However destroying one is possible...boil mandrake root,
hummingbird wings, eye of newt and Sagan's Strings. |
|
Chameleon Demons: Chameleons are shapeshifting, demonic spies
that are able to assume any shape or form. They possess the ability to
see and hear even when mimicking inorganic forms, such as a lamp; and
are able to instantaneously regenerate any damages to their form. In
addition to these powers, chameleons can also shimmer and are
telekinetic. |
|
Count Roget: Count Roget was the owner of the Cabaret Fantome.
106 years ago he made a deal with a demon. He was forced to file for
bankruptcy, which was probably the reason for the deal. When the club
burnt killing everyone inside, good and bad souls died at once. Neither
good nor bad ones could move on because they were holding each other
back. They are stuck in their respective afterlives, unaware of their
fate. One of them, George, was able to possess Mike and cry out for
help. Normally the solution would be to separate the good souls from the
bad one by e.g. break the deal with the demon. However in this case the
demon has long been vanquished. When Roget possessed Drake's body the
Charmed Ones were able to make a potion and evict the soul from the
body, ending the possession and free the souls. |
|
The Council: A demonic council that served and protected The
Source. Its members included high-level demons, high dark priests and
firestarters. They first became known and appeared at the end of Season
2 when they hired a genie to trick the Charmed Ones. The Council
protected The Underworld Grimoire, the ultimate source of dark magic.
They would reappear in Season 4 during the selection of the new Source

Coronation Chambeer in the Underworld. |

and beauty with a wave of his hand, as well as achieve the reverse,
aging people to dust in seconds. In the 16th century, Cryto traveled the
Dukedom's offering youth and beauty, but at a great price. In exchange
for his services, Cryto demanded the souls of those he restored. A group
of three witches sought to stop Cryto and were able to skin him alive,
believing this would prevent his spirit from returning. Rather than
being vanquished, the demon was reduced to non-corporeal state, lying
dormant until the members of Gail Altman's coven were able to summon
him. Three witches were needed to call the demon, and also three to
destroy him. Gail Altman’s coven made Cryto a shell from the skin of the
dead and summoned him into it. He rewarded them with their deaths. A
witch from the Halliwell line at some point discovered the witches had
attempted Cryto's demise had been unsuccessful. As preparation for the
day when his spirit might rise again, a spell was written in the Book of
Shadows. Prue, Piper, and Phoebe were able to use this spell to vanquish Cryto permanently. |

it builds until it consumes their humanity and turn them into a fury.
Furies normally move around by smoke-type of demonic teleportation. |
|
Gammill: Also known as The Collector. Gamill possessed a small,
metallic, wand capable of emitting energy beams with two distinct
functions: a blue lightning beam that shrunk whatever it struck, and a
red disintegration beam. He also possessed enough magical skill and
power to create golems from clay. In the 70's, Gammill was cursed to
appear as ugly on the outside as he was internally, forcing him to
create a golem in his previous image to lure female victims to his lair.
Once captured, Gamill’s victims were shrunk, covered in clay and baked
into hideous one of a kind figurines for his macabre collection.
Gamill’s method of murder was grisly but he was not a dangerous foe,
primarily choosing to hide instead of fight. By turning his own wand

him in a sanctified wedding. Then, she needs her husband to impregnate
her; that way her child would look like a normal human on the outside
but internally and mentally, her child would be pure demon. Hecate's
spell can only be thwarted by a declaration of true love, such as when
her target groom Elliot Spencer's human bride, Allison, declared her
love for him. Hecate and her demonic bridesmaids were later vanquished
by the Charmed Ones using a 14th-century Italian knife called a poignard
that bore the inscription, "I shall not rest until the demon is
vanquished". |

does this by going into horror movies. This demon can also bring movie

released him. They fell in love, but she was killed by his enemies.
Since then, he was trying to find a replacement body, to host her spirit
but the bodies keep dying. The Book of Shadows has a record of his
activities ranging from the middle east. What Jeric tries to find is a
witch with enough magic for Isis to use and cast a spell to dispossess
the body from the hosted spirits. Jeric traps Isis's spirit, and keeps
her from moving on by mummifying the dead body until he can find her a
new body. |
