PTC

The PTC And EPTC events, where new games brought in by Barry Hearne, to give players, more chance in match play and to earn more ranking points in the game, which now with ever changing rankings, those points are worth more than any amount of prize money.

The basic idea is that there are short matches best of 7 frames, and the winner goes on to play again later in the same day, players can some times play up to three times in one day, depending on the times of the first match.

The PTC is based in the World Snooker Academy at the institute of sport in Sheffield, where six events took place between May 10 - Sept 10. Players of both amateur and professional ability could play, for those out of the professional circuit the chance of winning ten thousand pounds, was a nice sweeter, for professionals it was the ranking points and the chance to keep fresh in their game play that took over.

It costs £100 per game to register to take part, if a player did not turn up for the event, the first time they were let off, but if they didn't turn up again a punishment for not showing up is said to be given. And there was a certain professional player who failed to turn up for five out of the six PTC's he was registered to play in, that would be Ronnie O'Sullivan, his punishment is yet unknown.

EPTC

Exactly like the PTC but these ones took place in selected venues in Europe, such as Prague, Bruges, Germany and one event in Gloucester UK as the EPTC clashed with another of Barry Hearne's new additions to the game Power Snooker, So the EPTC was brought to the UK so players could take part in both.

Each of the 12 events has had 12 different winners and these winners will Face each other for the televised Final in Dublin March 2011
