the earth, a gift given from God to us. the entire first chapter of the bible went to explaining how this wonder was created, and how God created everything making sure it was "good." knowing that God dwells not on the earth, we can make the obvious conclusion that the earth is ours, and that God made sure it was good for us. how then, do we justify destroying this amazing gift? how do we see our cars, our rows of shopping malls, and our factories, things of destruction, as progress? how can we turn our backs and close our eyes to the destruction of a gift from our father? the word says (col. 1:20) that we are reconciled by the blood of christ, as is all creation. along with this it also (2cor 5:14-21) says that we are to aid in that reconciliation, not only to mankind (spreading the gospel message of love) but to reconcile creation as well, to heal the earth. we also see that creation was punished when man fell into sin, showing that innocent always suffer when others do wrong. from our own selfish ways we have cursed creation, so that it may never be realized in its full glory. we read that "the earth moans, lying in pain for the day of the Lord." as children of the most high, we must ease this suffering of his creation, rather than contribute to the pain that the earth feels everyday.
