Jim Gaven

         Jim is an 19 year old kid that started writing songs the minute he picked up his first guitar on his 16^th birthday.   Although it has taken Gaven awhile to discover exactly how he wants his acoustic guitar writing to sound, he is slowly emerging as one of the most creative songwriters east of the Mississippi and above the Mason-Dixon line.  Combining styles from the likes of Dashboard Confessional, Guster, and Jimmy Eat World’s Clarity, he has been able to write over 30 songs in the past two and a half years using basically the same four to five chords in every song.  He has had a problem with finding recording time, and has yet to find the time or the patience to record.  But, he is hoping that a hometown friend can help him to do so over spring break, and soon after that will release his first CD, named  AN EP of Feelings, Thoughts, and Tendencies.  Some side notes about him are that he enjoys long walks on the beach, rainbows, and unicorns.  He also enjoys rainy days and candlelit dinners, he is currently attending Seton Hall University as an undecided Sophomore!
