YEAR 2002/3 CONFERENCE
We are proud to inform the SDASA family in advance, that this year, we will be celebrating 35th SDASA anniversary during the end-year conference which will take place in Kwazulu-Natal Province, South Africa (Please click December Conference Icon for more details).

The Education Director is still extending the invitation to pool of experts in and outside the SDA family who could facilitate professional and experiential workshops during the course of the 2002/3 Conference. SDASA Chapter leaders are urged to advise the Education Directorate about the interested experts in their locality on or before 1st December 2002.

In as far as the tenders for catering, security, PA system and stage decoration are concerned, please liaise with the Secretariat for details. We want you to advise SDAs in your area who have interest in any of the tenders.

We need to remind ourselves that this is an election year for both chapter executives(in some cases) and EXCO leadership. We would urge all of us to commence praying for such elections so that the Lord will assist us in appointing the inspired and committed individuals in their capacities to lead this noble association for the years 2003-2004. We should pray that those prospective office bearers should continue to put this association on track of fulfilling the mission of winning souls for the Lord, for He is coming very soon.

SDASA’s HISTORY.
As an organisation we are currently collating information with a view of documenting the history of our organisation. The team that is engaged in this exercise comprises of the following EXCO Members; Messrs. S. Ngcobo, M. Radebe, O.B. Mkhize and I.M. Buwa. To this end, we would request the following from each respective Chapter: (a) That you give full support to this team involved in the exercise whenever they seek assistance from your respective Chapters. (b) That each Chapter Leader advises the undersigned on when SDASA was started in your respective Chapters.

This information is requested by 30th August 2002. It is envisaged that the first draft of this document shall be circulated to EXCO by 1st September 2002, and hopefully during the year-end conference a final draft shall be circulated to the Chapters.

THE RESTRUCTURING OF THE SOUTHERN AFRICAN UNION(SAU)
We have been advised that the SAU is currently undergoing a restructuring program, and it is envisaged that as of the 1st January 2003 there will be five conferences instead of the current scenario. These conferences will then be reporting to a Division, and it is likely that the said Division will be the East Africa Division.

SDASA is in full support of the SAU restructuring. Notwithstanding the foregoing, however, it is worth to mention that SDASA has not been included in the restructuring program, and we are busy trying hard to influence the process so that SDASA could be included as an integral entity within the restructuring program.
