A Night On the Town...
[This happened in the middle of the Cosette-as-Javert's-daughter plotline. They were just leaving the barricade when all of a sudden my mind snapped. It gets fragile around midnight. So, we had a party, just as I had been hoping for all day. If you have to ask who is who, you haven't been paying attention. OOC Cameo by Chantal (Abby) which I left in because I tried to explain the whole thing to her, as if I understood what was going on at all. Anyhow. The Cosette-as-Javert's-daughter plotline is an example of what happens when we use one of Dessa's ideas. This is what happens when we use one of mine.]

There are running footsteps chasing Javert and Cosette down the street, and a voice calls, "Stop! Stop!" Cosette turns to look, and sees the leader of the revolution in his popinjay vest embrace her innocent papa with the passion of a street whore being paid extra. She faints dead away.
Gavroche says, "Okay, I'm done now."
Gavroche says, "I was already typing it. You don't have to follow it."
Javert LOLLOLLOL!
Gavroche says, "Are you sure you don't want to, though?"
Javert ermmmms... oh, ok, but tomorrow this will have Not Happened.
Gavroche says, "YAY!"
Marie says, "Where's the party?"
Gavroche says, "In Enjy's mouth."
Marie says, "Can I come? ;)"
Javert says, "Of course. Everyone will be there."
Javert tears away from Enjolras for the first time since they started... well, um... nevermind! He looks down to his poor pure innocent daughter and groans.
Enjolras says, "Darling, what's wrong?"
Marie walks along the street, hurriedly. She stops as she notices a girl passed out on the street. She looks quizzically at the three of them trying to understand what's happened.
Enjolras kisses Javert again before giving him a chance to answer.
Javert crouches down next to the girl, and looks up to Enjolras, "My daughter." He tries to revive her.
Cosette stirs, bringing one hand to her pale, pale forehead. "Papa?" she asks, vaguely.
Enjolras says, "Forget your daughter!" and tries to pull Javert away. "Unless, of course..."
Marie says "Honey," looking down at Cosette, "Is everything alright?"
Cosette blinks up at the rebel twining himself around her father. "No. Definitely not."
Enjolras looks over at Marie. "Well, hello there."
Javert looks down to Cosette, "Yes, I'm here." He pushes Enjolras away, angered. "You don't talk about her like that."
Enjolras says, "Aw, why not? Bet you think she's cute. I sure do."
Enjolras tries to wake the sleeping beauty with a kiss, except she's already awake, and she screams.
Cosette says, "PAPA!"
Javert holds his daughter protectively, "Don't touch her!" he roars to the man who is beginning to seem like not such an angel.
Enjolras pouts. He's very cute when he pouts. Oh, heck, he's cute all the time.
Marie gives Enjolras a good once over with her eyes. "Hello." She curtsies watching him carefully, "I'm Marie." She glances once at Javert, then looks to Cossette with an expression which could be read as 'Is it drugs, some good faith, or is he just a slut boy?'
c returns Marie's glance with wide-eyed fear and a flicker of the eyes towards Javert that clearly says, "Slut boy."
Cosette returns Marie's glance with wide-eyed fear and a flicker of the eyes towards Javert that clearly says, "Slut boy."
Javert helps Cosette up gently, then turns and attacks Enjolras. In a not so loving manner as he's attacked him before.
Enjolras screams in fear, "What are you doing?" and flees. Not particularly far.
Cosette says, "Papa, wait!"
Cosette says, "He didn't hurt me. Leave the poor boy alone."
Javert scowls at Enjolras, but does as Cosette asks. For now.
Cosette says, "Just tell me...why was he kissing you, Papa?"
Enjolras looks at the insane Inspector with tears in his gorgeous blue eyes.
Javert looks with a pained look to Cosette, as though he thinks he'd really /really/ rather not answer that.
Cosette says, "Papa? Please, tell me."
Enjolras says, "Because I love him, Mademoiselle. And I thought he loved me too."
Javert sighs at the words, and admits it. "Yes. He is an angel."
Cosette stares.
Cosette says, "Are you feeling alright, Papa?"
Marie looks Enjolras over once more. Cute, yes. She sighs, if he were religious it would be one thing, but.. She eyes the girl's father.. Now there's a man... What lovely sideburns.. She decides to wait around and see if she can help.. or at least find out where the two live..
Enjolras coos happily and walks back to Javert, smiling, glowing, and expecting that the kiss he offers will be happily taken.
Javert looks to the beautiful angel, "Yes..." then, panicked, "No!" He frowns, "I don't know."
Cosette says, "I don't know how to take this."
Enjolras makes a valiant effort to kiss Javert to distract him from the stupid girl.
Cosette shakes her head.
Javert really /really/ tries to ignore his gorgeous soul mate kissing him. "I hope you can understand..." Though he's not quite sure he understands, himself, at the moment.
Cosette says, "Somehow I doubt that I can."
Cosette says, "Have you gone...mad?"
Cosette says, "I can get a doctor to help you."
Enjolras says, "He's not mad, except for madly in love!"
Enjolras insistently kisses Javert.
Marie perks up and looks to the sideburned man, "I'd be happy to pray for you.. privately.. in your home.. or anywhere for that matter."
Javert loses at this point in the revolution. Conquered by the angel, he kisses him back.
Cosette turns away.
Enjolras is truly overjoyed.
Marie turns to Cossette. She looks Cossette over briefly, and nods to herself. "Have you ever thought about joining the nunnery?"
Cosette says, "No, not before now. But it seems like a very good idea at the moment."
Enjolras takes full advantage of the surrender. The greatcoat finds itself unbuttoned.
Cosette says, "Is it a hard life, being a nun?"
Javert tries to resist. Really he does. Kind of.
Enjolras doesn't even notice. Resistance? Resistance like a paper barricade. More kisses. Less clothing. There goes the vest.
Javert * notes, tho, if he's come straight from the barricades he'd be greatcoatless.
Marie turns to the girl. She shakes her head. "There's work, yeah. But if you know how to do it, and you aren't afraid of actually getting your hands dirty it's rather nice." She offers her hands, so Cossette can see just how much work she really does. More work than a whore, but less than factory workers.
Javert presses himself against Enjolras tightly. There's thoughts of "Maybe I should stop, Cosette's still there... isn't she?" somewhere in his mind. Unfortunately not at the top of it.
Cosette observes. She's trained to observe. She observes a shirt coming down right on top of her head while she's trying to look at Marie's hands. After that, she passes out again.
Enjolras says, "I thought I was going to die after only one night with you."
Javert thinks, >>> What? Is someone talking to me? <<< he manages to question, "Hm?" while busy kissing the side of Enjolras' neck.
Cosette comes to with a shirt over her head, and thinks she's safe in bed at home, just under the covers and having a nightmare, until the shoe hits her in the stomach.
Cosette says, "Silentia?"
Silentia has arrived.
Silentia barks?
Cosette sits up, pulling the covers off her head, and looks at the familiar doggie. "Silentia?"
Marie bends down to tend to Cossette, she looks up at Enjy, "Be careful with where you throw that stuff!" She moves the clothes and shoes off of Cossette.
Enjolras mutters something about love before he goes incoherent.
Javert * Please please talk me out of biting my poor angel?
Gavroche * No freakin' way. Aren't you feeling a little....hungry, Javert?
Marie * Javert's a vamp?
Gavroche * Bite him, for heaven's sake. you'll never do it in the real vamp stuff. this is a night off from all continuity.
Javert nibbles on Enjolras' earlobe, then moves down a bit again, trying to ignore a little voice asking him if he's hungry.
Gavroche * in the vampire stories, yes. and so is 'ponine.
Silentia jump up happily on Cosette and licks her face.
Cosette finds comfort in the dog until the next article of clothing flies past. she looks over, and then finds the energy to bury her face in the doggie's side and cry.
Marie looks nervously as the girl's father necks with the slut boy. She sits on the ground and holds Cosette, trying to comfort her.
Cosette says, "It's just not fair, Silentia. What's wrong with him?"
Javert decides... oh... just a little bite. He opens his mouth, licks the jugular, then sinks the ol' fangs in. Mmmm.
Enjolras asks, in pain, "Javert? What are you doing to me?"
Silentia barks an "I have no clue!" bark.
Javert mumbles, "Mrrfn." with his mouth full of food. Was he raised in a barn?
Gavroche * What's wrong, Lassie? Is Timmy's mind in the gutter?
Enjolras sounds more worried. "Stop...stoppit...that hurts...but..."
Marie looks at the girl, "Would your father notice if we left for the nunnery now? There's no reason you need to watch.." she notices a trickle of blood where Javert is kissing Enjy. She takes Cosette's arm, as if to pull her up and away from this place.
Cosette nods. "I think it's best. I couldn't...talk to him. Not now."
Enjolras moans, probably because all the blood in his body is running out of it.
Cosette shudders.
Cosette refuses to let herself even look.
Myriel runs in, "A---" he pauses, puzzled. "-- ha?"
Javert looks up, corners of his mouth deliciously bloody, "Oh, hell." he scowls at the bishop.
Enjolras clings to Javert, because otherwise he will collapse. This doesn't hide the fact that he's not wearing particularly much clothing at all.
Cosette says, "Silentia, come."
Silentia wanders over to Gavroche and nuzzles the back of his leg with her nose.
Gavroche, discovered lurking in the alleyway, yells as the dog nose meets bare skin. "Where's my sister, Demon?" he demands of Javert as soon as he stops being in shock.
Myriel fumbles a bit, taking out a wooden stake and a bottle of holy water.
Javert looks at Gavroche. "What, Gamin?"
Cosette looks up listlessly at Myriel. "What are those for?"
Marie stands, and takes Cosette's hand. "Come.. Your dog can follow on her own."
Gavroche says, "You made my sister follow you!" to Javert. "What've you done with her now?"
Myriel points at Javert. "A demon!" he informs Cosette.
Cosette says, "No! He's just...sick right now."
Javert scowls, thinking. "The girl? I haven't a clue."
Cosette steps between Myriel and her Papa, who, bloody and mostly naked though he is, is still her Papa and not a demon.
Gavroche says, "You're an idiot, Javert."
Enjolras swoons from lack of blood and collapses onto the pavement. That'll leave a bruise.
Javert looks around at the situation. "Yeah, I know."
Javert retrieves his greatcoat and thus looks respectable. He places a hand on his daughter's shoulder, "I'm forgiven, then?" he asks hopefully.
Myriel says, "Sick? SICK? He comes straight from the pits of hell!"
Cosette looks at her father, who's only got one sock on, and his icky hairy legs are showing under the greatcoat. Besides which, he's got blood on his face, and his...whatever...is unconscious behind him, and this gamin is asking about some girl? "No, you're not forgiven." But she rallies enough to turn to Myriel, her dagger in her hand, fending him off. "No. He just needs a vacation. You stay away from my Papa."
Gavroche says, "Where's my sister?"
Enjolras twitches, and tries to sit up.
Javert cries, drops of his beautiful angel's blood staining his face again. He turns and frowns tot he boy, "Did you look in the elephant?"
Gavroche hmms. "Actually, no. I was too busy in the barricade, but if he (points to Enjy) has left, I suppose they're all just going to give up home anyway. I should go look for her there."
Enjolras whispers, "Javert...?"
Myriel holds the stake like a sword and tries to knock Cosette's dagger away.
Javert nods, "Do that." he looks back to Enjolras, "What?"
Cosette resists. Not for nothing was she the Inspector's adopted daughter. "Stay away from my father."
Enjolras faints again. It's obvious he's in pretty bad shape, especially with two fang-gashes in his neck, even though those are healing fast because of the vampire spit on them.
Myriel frowns at the girl. "You will not know what you are protecting until it turns on you!" and he storms away. He'll catch the Inspector alone, at some point, and then he will have victory!
Cosette shakes her head, sadly. "I know what I am protecting," she tells Myriel, though he cannot hear. "Papa, what is wrong with you?"
Javert sighs, "Too much. I have found myself attracted to an enemy of the King, and having a terrible disease for which I doubt I shall ever be cured."
Cosette says, "Oh. That's a couple of pretty big problems. At least you solved one, though."
Cosette points to where Enjolras lies dying in the street, naked and alone and bleeding to death.
Javert looks to Enjolras. "True. With the other."
Cosette says, "A solution is where you find it, or where it finds you."
Enjolras gathers just enough strength to whisper, "Andrzej..."
Javert sighs and looks to Cosette. "Let's go home before I begin to feel love for him again."
Marie looks at Cosette, her eyes pleading Come with me! She glances around at the mess unfolding nervously.

[And then, when we thought everything was just weird enough, Chantal (Enjolras's sister) logged on, and stupid me tried to explain it all...I organized this stuff into one big lump of OOC stuff because she never went IC, and I find it amusing. Note: Don't clean logs after you have stayed up too late creating them the night before, or you'll do something that looks like this, and leave it in:
***Begin OOC Segment:
Gavroche says, "Oh yeah, Chantal, your brother is bleeding to death in the middle of the Rue Plumet. Poor thing."
Chantal says, "Oooh, dear. That means I'll have to swear blood feud. Or whatever they do equivalently."
Javert has to get home before the sun comes up!
Chantal could always drop by and scream and make a scene, I suppose.
Gavroche says, "The sun won't rise for another 4 hours or so. Keep RPing."
Javert says, "Join up with Myriel, Chantal. You two can take out Cossie."
Gavroche says, "Goodness. That would be confusing. Go for it."
Chantal arches a brow.
Marie says, "Hey! Cosette's joining the nunnery! She's mine!"
Javert says, "Cosette's protecting me from Evil Myriel."
Chantal says, "What the hell. I don't have anything better to do. *dabbles a toe in self-pity* // Lord help us. Maybe I should just bring Joly and save my poor big brother, and have done with it, in that case."
Gavroche says, "He's lost massive amounts of blood, but bring Joly."
Chantal snickers.
Gavroche says, "Then Cossie can fall for him and decide not to go to the nunnery at all."
Javert says, "Hm. Yeah, I don't know what his chances are."
Gavroche says, "I must note that I am at that stage of exhaustion where absolutely everything is hilarious. Please, pardon me and continue."
Chantal says, "Ner. Maybe I'll just commit suicide at you."
Chantal says, "Top that. ;)"
Gavroche says, "No, No, bring Joly. Please?"
Chantal says, "Must I? Oh, well. Where in blazes are you guys anyway?"
Gavroche hmphs. "I could always send you the logs we've been creating this week. That tops it."
Chantal has arrived.
Chantal says, "Oh. @tel. How clever."
Gavroche * Okay. I'm not here. Cossie is. Javvie is, wearing his greatcoat but not a heck of a lot else. Enj's lying over there, also mostly naked, bleeding from the neck. Marie's trying to get Cossie to leave without Javvie.
Javert ... while standing there in one sock and his greatcoat with blood all over his face.
Marie says, "Joly? Marie's got hots for Joly... 'Course she's got hots for most..."
Chantal * ums. My brain hurts now.
Gavroche * And....that too. and Cossie's dad is Javert in this story.
Gavroche * Sorry, hon.
Chantal * eyes Marie. Did you ravish my poor brother!!!
Gavroche says, "Joly's cute."
Gavroche * No.
Chantal says, "Sniffly, but cute."
Javert * sorries, chantal.
Chantal * is kidding. ;)
Marie * not yet, Chantal. ;)
Javert * did, actually %-/
Gavroche *that would have been Enj trying to ...Javert and getting bit.
Gavroche * yah. what he said.
Chantal * oys.
Chantal * actually, kids, I should be getting to bed ere long... :/
Gavroche * aww. All right.
Javert * Ok, just fix enjy fore ya split :)
Gavroche * sleep well. if that's possible.
Javert * snuzzles :)
Marie * Pleasant dreams, Chantal!
Gavroche * yah, a Javvie snuzzle is just the thing for sweet dreams. Or _not_.
Chantal * snickers. Y'all are free to pose the doctor-boy yourselves, you know. Nut cases. ;) // Merci. I'll try. :)
Marie * would pose Joly, but then she'd need to flirt with herself, which would just get ugly...
Chantal * snickers.
Chantal has disconnected.
*** end OOC Segment]

Cosette looks around at all the carnage, and the blood, and shakes her head.
Silentia pokes Javert's hand with her nose, indicating she wants to be petted.
Javert patpats Silly girl.
Cosette says, "Papa, we should call him a doctor."
Javert frowns. He really doesn't want to go through that again, but for his daughter, anything, of course. "All right." And he calls a doctor-in-training out of the fighting at the barricade.
Javert points to Enjolras, "Fix him." he orders.
Enjolras bleeds.
Joly sneezes.
Joly looks at Enjolras. "Um."
Joly feels for a pulse.
Joly does not find one.
Cosette waits, tense.
Joly puts a magic band-aid on the wound and Enjy hops up, good as new. Joly approaches his mistress, his job complete.
Enjolras gives Javert another big kiss.
Javert frowns. "Enjolras, I should go home."
A drunken man comes stumbling, but still credibly running, down the street. "Marcelin!" he bellows at the top of his lungs.
Marie looks warmly at Joly, a smile on her face. She glances briefly at the barricade and tries to remember why he would be over there.
Enjolras smiles. "Come home with me." Then he hears the yelling, turns, and nearly faints.
Javert takes advantage of the near faint to escape.
R launches himself through the air and tackles Enjolras much as Enjolras earlier tackled Javert.
Cosette says, "Papa, I think I should join a convent."
Joly kisses Marie passionately.
Javert smiles at Cosette. "If that's what would make you happy, dear."
Enjolras tries to fight Grantaire off and get to Javert. He yells, "Andrzej!" again astounding everyone at his skill in pronouncing weird names.
Cosette says, "I just want to get as far from all of this as I can."
R holds Enjolras down. "You're not going anywhere."
Javert sniffs softly, "All right. I see."
Cosette protests, "I never knew you were...so sick."
Marie happily kisses Joly. She completely and totally ceases paying attention to anyone else. She whispers in his ear, "What're you doing out here?"
Joly says, "Umm.... I forget. *smoooch*"
Javert sighs, "I'm very sick. I should go home and sleep."
Enjolras stops protesting after a while, and a black curtain falls gently over him and R. Two down. Lots to go.
Cosette says, "I want an explanation. And the sister who is going to take me to the convent..."
Cosette looks over and sees Marie and Joly. You'd think she'd accept it by now, but, no, she's shocked again. "Sister! What's going on?" (duh.)
Javert yawns, fangs gleaming int he lamplight, "Explanation of which part?"
Cosette shakes her head. "I don't know. Let's just go home, Papa."
Javert says, "Good idea."
Cosette takes Javert's arm.
Marie stops kisses Joly and steps away from him briefly to look at Cosette. "It's all about Sharing God's Love.. It's perfectly normal and natural."
Cosette says, "Oh. All right. Tell me about it...tomorrow."
Javert turns into a bat, and, grabbing onto Cosette, flies away with her in tow. A very VERY strong bat, he is. Like the Jean Valjean of bats. But not really.
Joly comments, "Mm-hmm." and leads Marie back to his flat.
Marie happily follows Joly, glancing back at the girl and not finding her there anymore. She shrugs and holds Joly closer.
Gavroche leads the doggie back to the Police Post. Poor abandoned doggie. He also delivers the clothes back to their respective owners, and the black-curtain lump to a flat in the Rue des Gres.

Back.
