That Was The Hole In The Wall Gang, So It Was
Radio 4
1995 (four programmes?)

The Hole In The Wall Gang — five young Northern Irish comedians, namely Michael McDowell, Tim McGarry, Nuala McKeever, Damon Quinn and Martin Read — wrote and performed this series, transmitted in the Week Ending slot during its 1995 summer break.  The Gang are best known for their head-on confrontation of issues thrown up by the Troubles, with features such as the self-explanatory ‘Sectarian Adventures of Orange-Man’.  But this series also contained many sketches on more general themes, usually satirical in tone; there was also a ‘situation’, with the show presented as a retrospective of the Gang’s work created several decades into the future and containing mock-biographical pieces about their life stories.
