Angela stopped her car in the all too familliar driveway. She paused a moment to take a deep breath before she opened the door. She walked up the front walkway to the door, then used her key to open the door. I have to see if Alan was telling the truth...

When she stepped inside, she was surprised. She had almost expected it to change without her. Even though she had only been gone about a two months, she had almost expected everything to change. But it hadn't. The front entry way looked the same, an so did the living room. She wandered down the hall to the large kitchen. She smiled when she saw their old maid, Carla, scrubbing at a counter.

"Carla!" Angela said, delighted to see her old friend.

The maid looked up, startled. Her expression didn't change.

Angela grabbed the woman into a hug. "How have you been?" She asked happily, pulling away to look at Carla.

She slowly noticed that Carla wasn't smiling. She was looking around anxiously. "You shouldn't be here." She said.

"What?" Angela pulled away. "Why not?"

"You shouldn't be here...in this house. That's all I need."

"Carla, what are you talking about?"

The maid shushed her. "You shouldn't be here. They wont' be happy to see you here. Not after....everything."

"But....I just want to talk to my parents...are they home?"

"Your mother is upstairs, keep your voice down."

"No I will not!" Angela exclaimed, stepping away from the maid. "This is my house too, and I want to speak to my mother!"

"It's not your house anymore." Carla said.

"Carla!" Angela could hardly believe what she was hearing.

"You could have been something. You are such a pretty girl, and yet you run off and waste youself on some rock star. Can you blame your parents? They can't show themselves anywhere now. They're too embarassed." Carla said. She looked around nervously. "Now please leave for your mother hears you."

Angela's mouth hung open in shock. "It's too late."

They both turned to see Angela's mother standing in the doorway.

"Mom, I-"

"Please leave." Her mother said sternly, her face showing no emotion.

"What?" Angela asked.

"Please leave now. How did you get in? Leave your keys."

"Mom-"

"If you insist on first embarassing this family and then leaving it, then I suggest that you no longer show yourself here."

"Mom, I love Isaac and we-"

"And about him. As long as you're with him, don't expect my charity or my sympathy." Her mother said in an icy tone.

Angela felt her eyes start to tear up. She blinked a few times, then hurried out of the kitchen and out the front door before getting into her car to cry. She had been kicked out of her house.
