Katie rushed to the bathroom Friday morning. She felt like she was going to be sick. Everyone was looking at her and whispering...people she didn't even know...

She ran into the girls' bathroom and locked herself in the first stall she She put the lid down on the seat and sat down, pulling her knees up to her chest. The past couple of days had just been terrible- She couldn't sleep, she couldn't eat, and the person she most wanted to talk to she was mad at.

Tears started to stream down her face, and she didn't bother to wipe them away. Things couldn't possibly get any worse. She heard the door open, and she quieted herself.

She heard laughter, and she was able to tell that it was two girls. She peeked through the crack in the door to see that it was two girls who were juniors.

"I'm so sick of that girl..."

"I know, she doesn't even try to pretend not to flirt. I mean, I was standing right next to him and she still batted her eyelashes at him. "

"She's a ho, I told you that."

"Yeah well..."

"And she's not even our age!"

"I know....stupid sophomores."

Katie could tell that they talking about a girl that was trying to steal one girl's boyfriend right under her nose. It was a common scenario in high school.

"This school is just so full of whores."

"I know..."

"Hey did you hear about that one freshman chick?"

"Which one?"

"Oh, you know, the one with the...blonde, curly hair...quiet?"

"Oh yeah, I've seen her. The one with the boyfriend."

"You heard?"

"Yeah."

"That's terrible."

Katie sucked in her breath when she realized that they were talking about her.

"I know...Freshmen are...what, fourteen? Fifteen?"

"yeah."

"I heard she was sleeping with him and like, two or three other guys."

"Gross."

"He's like, a little pimp too."

"I believe it."

"God."

"That's just sick...I mean, how do they do it?"

"I dunno...God, a freshman and already her sex life is better than mine."

The who girls laughed, and Katie felt a pang of embarassment and pain rip through her insides. How could they be so mean? They didn't even know her.

"It's really sick that someone that young would even want to sleep around."

"I guess."

"What a little ho."

"Really."

"These freshmen, I tell ya."

"And not only that, but they all seem so nice, and then boom! Five dolla!" Both of the girls giggled hysterically. It was all Katie could do to keep from bursting out of the stall and telling them that she was a nice girl, and that she'd never had sex with anyone, and that they were all wrong, and everything was a lie. But she just sat there and listened.

"I know...two other guys..."

"Sick."

"Yeah."

"Well, at least we're not that bad."

"yeah. A little common sense and self respect."

"Let's make a promise to ourselves never to get that bad."

"Yeah."

"Let's go, she's gonna wonder what happened to us."

"Okay."

It wasn't until she heard the bathroom door shut that she let her tears and sobs come freely.
