Half an hour later, Christina was wondering around the twenty four hour Kroger store, located in the huge shopping center about fifteen miles from their house, looking for the last object on Michelle's never ending list of things she absolutely could not live without.

"Cheese in a can?' She wondered out loud. "What could she possibly need cheese in a can for?" She thought about that for a moment, but then changed her mind. "Never mind, I don't want to know."

The store was mostly empty, except for about five other cars. As she wondered over to the dairy section, she rounded a corner. She didn't see the boy walking quickly around the same corner, not watching where he was going. He colided into the side of her cart, pushing it back onto her. Christina fell backwards, cracking her head on the hard floor of the grocery store. Her hands went to her pounding head.

"Oh my god! I am soooo sorry! Are you ok?" a familiar voice asked sounding panicked to death.

"Uh……..Yeah, I think so…oooo…….I don't feel so good…….who are you?" She asked, squinting at him.

"I'm Taylor, we met in class today. You don't have amnesia, do you?"

"oh yeah…….hehe…….yeah…….I remember………ohhhhhh, my head hurts. And where are my glasses?" she asked squinting and feeling around on the floor around her.

"Here they are." He said, holding up the black frames with a few broken pieces of glass still in them.

"I'm sooo sorry" he said

"no no, that's ok, I needed to get new ones anyway." She said, taking the frames away from him.

"I had better get you home." Taylor said, tipping the cart back onto all fours. He picked everything up off the floor and put it back in her cart, giving her a concerned look.

"Um, okay." Christina said, holding her head. She was still a little dizzy and unaware of what had just happened.

"Did you drive or ride the bus?" he asked, bending down with a concerned look on his face.

"I drove……my car…….I think……."

"Do you mind if I drive your car to get you home?" He asked her.

"No"

"ok, which one is it?"

"It's the light green kia"

"ok, um…here, let me help you up" he said, clasping his arms around her waist and lifting her up, leaning her on his shoulder.

"But how will you get home? Did you drive your car?

"No, my roommate took it out tonight. I didn't want to go to that kind of party anyway."

"Why?'

"Because I know that there was going to be drinking and smoking. That just isn't my style." he said, helping her to the checkout line. She paid for her groceries, and they headed out the store.

"I don't know why I'm so uptight...It's just that where I come from, you just don't do that..."

"Me neither. Not that I get asked to any such parties, but…"

"Yeah, I was just invited to tag along. My roommate wants me to rush with him, but I don't think I want to. I mean, my parents want me to, but they don't know how much that stuff has changed" he said as he finished loading all her bags in her car.

"Yeah, I hate that stuff. It's not really me either." she said.

He walked her over to the passenger side and opened the door for her and slowly lowered her down into the seat.

Without realizing it, she let out a great big sigh.

"what's wrong?" he asked, sliding into the driver's seat.

"Oh, uh, my head really hurts" she lied.

"Oh I'm so sorry. I'll hurry and get you home"

"Ok"

And with that, she handed him the keys, and he pulled out of the parking lot.
