TWO TIMERS
Chapter 4
Colleen's View

"Jeez, baby, we sure got a lot of phone calls last night," Brian murmured, scrambling some eggs for breakfast.

"Yeah, I know. I was exhausted, and not in the mood to talk… and then Sophia calls me up to tell me how much fun she had," I laughed, shaking my head just thinking about her.

"So, I never asked you… did you have fun?"

"Yeah, it was alright. But you know how I hate meeting new people," I replied, getting uncomfortable. I knew his next question would be, What did you think about the guys?

"Hmmm, yeah you had to meet a ton of new people last night. What did you think of my fellow band-mates?"

I immediately froze up, not knowing what to say. They are a great group of guys, Brian. Especially Nick. Oh, by the way, he kissed me.

"They seem nice, Brian," I mumbled, shifting uneasily.

He must've noticed my sudden paranoia, because he put down his frying pan, and came to sit down next to me.

"What's wrong?" he asked, a concerned look on his face.

I sort of wanted to tell him what happened last night. But I knew that he wouldn't be able to get over that… and he would kill Nick.

"Nothing, I'm fine," I said, after a long pause.

"Did something happen last night, Colleen?"

"No, no. Nothing happened," I stammered.

"Ok, if you say so," he replied, getting up and returning to his eggs.

I had sworn to myself that Brian would be different… that I wasn't going to cheat on him, or lie to him. And technically, I'd already done both of those things.

AJ's View

"Sophia, I'm sick of talking. Can I come over?" I begged.

"You're sick of talking? AJ, we've only been on the phone for like 10 minutes!" she laughed, in disbelief.

"Yeah but just hearing your voice, makes me wanna come over there…"

"Are you aware of the fact that we haven't even gone out yet?" she shot back.

"Well… yeah. But does that really matter?"

"Of course it does! We should at least go out once or twice."

"Stop playing hard to get."

"Why would I play hard to get?" she flirted.

"Don't know… why don't you tell me?"

There was a long pause, "Fine, come on over," she said.

"Really?" I asked, excitedly.

"Yes, really."

I couldn't help but smile to myself as she gave me her address.

"Alright baby, I'll see you in a few minutes, ok?"

"Ok, AJ," she giggled, "Bring some condoms."

"Of course. Bye love." I quickly placed down the phone, and ran upstairs to shower and shave.

Nick's View

I had to see Colleen. I couldn't get her off of my mind, and if I didn't see her soon… I was gonna scream. The only problem was Brian. He was obviously gonna be home, and he's already acting all suspicious. I nodded my head, as if to convince myself that I had to go. I grabbed my keys, and bolted out the door.

Brian's View

There was definitely something bothering Colleen, and it ticked me off that she wouldn't tell me. It troubled me how she would get all uncomfortable whenever I mentioned anything about last night. After breakfast, she had immediately gone upstairs to shower and change. Usually we sit at the table and talk, but she didn't want to talk this time. What was she afraid of?

"Brian, you can shower if you want, I'm finished," she said, coming downstairs and plopping herself onto the couch. She reached for the remote, and flipped on the TV.

"Col, turn that off for a minute," I demanded. She gave me a worried look, and reluctantly shut off the TV.

"What's wrong Bri?"

"I'm not letting you get up from that couch until you tell me what's going on."

"Brian, why do you keep on bugging me? Nothing is wrong! Nothing at all!" she replied, her voice wavering a little.

"Why do you keep on lying to me?"

"I'm not lying to you Brian," she mumbled, lowering her voice almost to a whisper, "I would never lie to you."

"How am I supposed to believe that, when every time I mention something about the party last night, you freeze up and change the subject?"

"Brian," she smiled, walking over to me and wrapping her arms around my waist, "I had a lot of fun at the party last night. Nothing went wrong… everyone was nice to me. And I'm sorry if you think I'm lying to you, but I'm not. I care about you way too much to lie to you, ok?" She gave my lips a soft kiss, before looking up at me.

"Alright, baby. I believe you," I replied, leaning in to return her kiss.

"Ok, you better get in the shower," she laughed, pushing me away.

"Oh, fine. But I expect more of you when I'm all clean. Promise?"

"I promise."

"Excellent," I said, turning around and heading upstairs.

She said nothing was wrong, and I believe her. I don't think she'd lie to me… let's hope not.

Nick's View

I pulled up in front of Brian's house. Hoping, by some miracle, that he wasn't home. I rang the doorbell, and stood back. Please let Colleen answer the door…

After a few minutes, the door flew open. Col was standing there, looking as great as she did last night.

"Hey," I finally said, after we stood in silence for what seemed like an eternity.

"Hey… are you here to see Brian?" she asked, knowing the answer.

"Nah, I'm here to see you."

"Why?"

"Don't know," I shrugged.

"You wanna come in?" she asked slowly.

"Thanks," I nodded. She moved aside, and I slid passed her.

"Where's Brian?"

"In the shower," she added, "He'll be done soon."

"Don't worry, Col. I'm not going to kiss you again. I know you didn't like that."

"What?"

"You act all nervous around me, like I'm some kind of bad guy. I'm not gonna do anything you don't want me to do."

"No, it's not that I didn't enjoy that kiss… because I did. I really, really did," she blurted out.

"You did?" I asked, a little bit shocked by what she'd just said.

"Yeah… that's not a good thing, Nick."

"Yes it is! It's a great thing," I shouted.
"Shhh, be quiet. Brian might hear you," she whispered, placing her index finger on my lips.

I opened my mouth slightly, forcing her finger into my mouth.

She pulled it out immediately, "Nick, what the hell do you think you're doing?"

"Sorry… temptation," I blushed.

"Try to control it," she demanded, backing up a little.

"I can't, Colleen. Whenever I see you… I just wanna do all these things to you," I murmured, pressing my body up against hers. I slowly ran my hand up and down the length of her back.

"Stop, please. Don't do this to me," she pleaded.

"Do you really want me to stop, Colleen?" I asked, gently pressing my lips to hers.

"Yes," she stammered, breathing hard.

"Alright," I said, pulling myself away from her, "But you know I -"

"Nick? What are you doing here?" Brian interrupted. I turned around to see him standing at the foot of the stairs.

"Oh, I just came over to say hi, that's all."

He shot me a strange look, and I took that as my signal to leave.

"Well… hi… now I'm going to leave. So… bye," I muttered, letting myself out.

Colleen's View

"Nick never just comes by to say hi, Col. He's not that friendly," Brian stated, giving me a questioning glance.

"Well, I guess he was bored," I replied, nervously playing with my hands.

"Nah, I don't think so," he mumbled, "I think he's after you."

"No way, Brian. I assure you, he is not after me!"

"I think he is. I see the way he looks at you."

"Brian, just drop it ok?"

"Why should I drop it? I'm not gonna let him flirt with you," he shouted.

"I think you're acting way too uptight," I said, getting angry at his over-protectiveness.

"Fine, I'll stop acting like such a dick. But promise me you'll let me know if he starts making you feel uncomfortable?" he asked, lowering his voice.

"I promise."

Nick did make me feel uncomfortable… but I liked it.
