Chapter 13I woke up early for the interview. I had slept so well and was in an amazing mood. I showered and dressed, leaving my room with enough time to grab something from the restaurant for breakfast. Passing by Nick's room I heard his TV still on and knew he must not be ready yet. Probably ended up playing video games all night and didn't get to bed until late. I knocked and waited for him to answer the door. When he did I couldn't help but laugh. His shirt was half on, top button of his jeans undone and was wearing only one shoe. "Morning Kev." He smiled before going back into his room to finish getting dressed.
"You are the strangest dresser I've ever known Nick." He shot me a look of confusion and kept dressing.
"Usually we work on one article of clothing at a time. Easier that way." He smiled at that.
"Too easy." He replied running his fingers through his hair. When he was done he checked himself out in the full length mirror and turned to face me. "Okay?" He asked as if he really didn't know.
Are you joking?" I asked, staring at him.
"Would I ask if I was?" He replied turning to take another look. "That bad eh?"
"NO." I said as he began to take off his shirt to change. "That one's nice. I like that one." Baby blue looked so good on him. Brought out the colour in his eyes. Went nice with his tan. He looked hot in baby blue. Okay, he looked hot in every colour...but especially baby blue. Smiling he took another look. "You sure?"
"You look beautiful." I replied before I could stop myself. That made him stop and look at me. He walked over and softly kissed me, our tongues flirting with each other. "No Kev. YOU are beautiful." He whispered running his fingers through my hair. "I love your hair so much Kev. Just want to play with it, twirl it around my fingers." He seemed preoccupied with the strand of hair between his fingers. I just sat there unable to move. He was so honest, so open with his emotions. "But not as much as I love your mouth." He said before kissing me again, licking my lips so I would open them and let his tongue into my mouth. He was so talented with his tongue. It made my head spin. He would run it over every possible area of my mouth before contracting it into his own mouth, causing me to chase it with my own. He tasted so sweet, so delicious. I couldn't get enough of him. "Wear the glasses." I moaned as he pulled away, breathless.
He laughed and winked at me. "Sure thing baby."
He called me baby. He called me baby. Oh my god he called me baby. I never realized how significant that one word could be. As I pondered the implications of being his 'baby' he walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around me. "Come on Kev. We don't want to be late."
So we went. We got down there just in time to see the interviewer walk in and set her stuff up. It gave me time to have a muffin and some juice to calm my stomach. I knew AJ could sense that something was different and he smiled at me. Smiled as though to tell me that everything was cool. That he knew what was going on and he was okay with it. I was happy. I wasn't sure how we were going to approach the guys with this, but to know that we had AJ's support made it easier.
We all sat around the table and the woman asked us questions. It was basically the same old stuff, and I was beginning to drift. My thoughts wandering to what had happened upstairs last night. This morning. That was until I heard the question she directed at Nick. "So Nick. Is there anyone special in your life right now?"
My head shot up and suddenly I had never been so interested in hearing an answer to this question. Nick smiled at the lady and blushed. He actually blushed. "Actually, yes. There is someone very special in my life."
My heart began to beat wildly and my breathing quickened.
The reporter smiled and continued. "Is it serious?" "It could be. It's definitely getting there." He replied, looking at me briefly.
"Ooooh. Could Nick Carter be in love?" My breathing stopped when she asked this question. It was exactly what I had been wanting to know. I listened closely, watched closer.
"I would say that I am definitely falling in love, if I wasn't in love with this person already. I think I've always been in love with them, it's just taken a while for us to get where we are now."
He was blushing profusely now, voice wavering from nervousness. "We've just recently become an us, so we're just taking it day by day." He had said so much and no one else in the room was even aware of exactly how important his words were. How much they meant to me. I didn't know if I wanted to laugh, cry or jump up and kiss him.
I glanced around at the other guys and saw AJ smiling at me. He couldn't have looked happier and I felt myself get really choked up.
Then she turned to face me. "Kevin. You've been very quiet today. What about you?"
"What about me?" I squeaked out. Oh shit.
"Do you have a special woman in your life right now?" I had to laugh at that, my nervousness escaping with my laughter. I saw Nick and AJ laughing as well. It was this inside joke that no one but us three knew. I saw Brian and Howie look at us funny which made me laugh harder. When I could talk I finally answered her. "No. I can honestly say that there is no special woman in the picture right now. I'm not exactly looking for a girlfriend right now." I looked at Nick when I said that and he rolled his eyes at me, causing me to laugh again.
That seemed to appease her and she moved on, asking someone else something now. I didn't care about the interview any longer. It didn't matter. All that mattered was that Nick had said he was in love with me. He loved me. HE LOVED ME!
