Rhyl - 2nd May 2005

Cyrmu

Im really surprised that no1 has talked about it yet!
i went last nite and it was absolutly amayzing!
sorry i didnt remember the set list or anythin, i didnt think 2!
they started off with the show and finished with sound of the underground.
2 covers that they did was girls on film and teenage dirtbag.
they pulled it off really well and had nicola as the 1 who was really shy n the teenage dirtbag who got the guy, really good!
dance routines were amazing, just sat there open mouthed!
rhyl were really strict about cameras and fones.
i was sittin on the end of the row as well so couldnt take any pics coz the steward biatch kept shoutin at me n threatened 2 kick me out if i tuk any. was so gutted about that it really ruined it 4 me.
i still managed 2 sneakily fone my m8 for a few songs tho but almost got caught doin that!
the outfits were really good, they started off with like sparkly leotard/swimin costume/bikini things with jeans or 3/4 jeans.
then they got changed into like naughtly sparkly skool girl outfits then in nice dresses like long versions of the 1s worn in love machine vid.
then they wore the whole biker style outfits.
they got changed really quikly an kimberley even managed 2 change her hair style in the 1st costume change.
the merchandice was quite cheap an there was no street sellers in rhyl which was wierd.
if theres anythin else u want 2 no just ask me!

Rhyl - 3rd May 2005

Sarahs Angel

HIIIIIIIIII OMFG IT WAS THE BEST THING EVER!!!
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I CANT BELIVE ITS OVER THO I WNTED IT 2 GO ON 4EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR
MY VOICE HAS GONE LOL!!
THEY HAVE DANCERS AND 1 SUPPORT GROUP WICH IS 2 SISTERS CALLED KUTE, THERE OK BUT OMFG BELIEVE ME ITS AMAZING!
STAFF WER SOOOO STRICT ON TAKING PIX THAT I HAD 2 B QUICK SO THEY R PROBZ BLURRY LOL!!

Nadine is Ace

OMG!!! i went last nite!!! it was a really great show!!
They even came over 2 me ceri and anna ~*Sarahs*Angel*~ and complimented our banner yay!!
awwww was the best ever!!
teenage dirtbag is amazing and they like mix the songs up and do lil salsa dances, they have hot dancers with them too!!!
watch out 4 sarah and nadine's lil duet thing...tis very sweet!! 4got the song...it was an oldie! school girl outfits ROCK!!!!!!

Doggie

It was a pretty good concert. Most of the vocal's sounded live (No Good Advice was obviously mimed) and they all sounded good.
Sarah was screaming a bit at times. The audience was incredibly young, which I wasn't quite expecting.
Mainly girls about ten shrieking and jumping up and down.
After seeing Kylie last week it was a slight let-down, a bit like watching 10 cduk performances.
Then again, there are far worse ways one could spend an hour.
The support were quite amusing. Two girls called Kute.

Nottingham Royal Concert Hall - 4th May 2005

Rex

I thought the support acts were a bit shit to be honest; Kute were just awful and Cookie weren't much better - their only good song was 'Do It Again'. Neither had any stage presence. There was a VERY cringe-worthy moment when a member of Cookie asked the crowd to get on their feet and NOBODY obliged, not even 'The Kids'.
I just remembered something from last night too; they performed a salsa/latin version of Real Life. My favourite performance of the night easily 'Girls Allowed', it sounded so ace!

Kylies Number One Fan

i went to the show last night at nottingham royal concert hall, had front row seats, they were good, but dint go coz im a big fan, i went b-coz of a friend

Den Den

"OH. MY. GOD! Girls Aloud....you officially rock!
just gotten back from the concert and thought i'd rush online to tell you all about it!
first off, the support acts were shite....Cookie and two scallies called Kute (they REALLY weren't)
the girls opened with the show....they didn't have deck chairs- they were big posh leather chairs...very good opener!
the first set piece was the sparkley tops, they did the show, no good advice, wake me up, grafitti my soul in this section.
then they went on to the school girl outfits- which was classic!
they didn't really do a cover version of another brick on the wall- it was played as the dancers were dancing as the girls went off and changed. then they came back, sang the chorus and then carried on with the concert.
in the school girl section they did the cover version of teenage dirtbag, but suprisingly funny! they changed the lyrics to "his name was noel!" which i pissed myself to! - and they changed the lyrics in the second verse from "her boyfriend's a d!ck, and he brings a gun to school and he'd simply kick my ass if he knew the truth" to "his girlfriend's a b!tch, and she's got an attitude, and she'd simply kick, my ass if she knew the truth"
unsuprisingly, the "loser" or teenage dirtbag was Nicola! can't think why
then came the ballad section- life got cold, deadlines and diets, which was amazing- and i'll stand by you, which was great live
other than the singles, the only Sound of the Underground song they sang was Girls Allowed, which they mixed with that "Le Freak, C'est Chic" song, which was fab! this was in the disco section.
they closed to jump, and the audience went mad for it, and then they came back for the inevitable Sound Of The Underground!
they seemed really, really pleased be be performing for a live audience, and everyone seemed to have a really good time!
on the whole it was a fab concert, the only way to describe it is "fun"! just pure unadulterated fun!
the two highlights.... Love Machine- obviously, one of my fave songs ever- i danced like a biatch to this one!
Real Life was the second best moment! was absolutely fantastic, they began singing it really bluesy like a ballad, and then they burst into the album version, and then had a salsa break down and a big salsa dance routine in it, and then the dancing was all 1920s, it totally ruled!"
when we went to the box office about 5.30 to pick up our tickets, we could hear the girls doing their sound check....they were singing Girls Allowed and they were all laughing and joking and like "come on nadine, get with it" and winding each other up....they really sounded like fantastic mates and really good together!"

The Show

Nadine has middle parting
Kim looked same as Rhyl pics
so did Nic so did Sarah
Cherly just look normal
No body fell over (as i remember) but nadine boobs were nearly coming out in the first few songs
We weren't meant to take pics but i did lol
Sarah and Nadine sang the freak out, see sheek part at the top of the stairs while the other where dancing with the dancers
The atmosphere was amazing!

BBC Nottingham

Maybe we'll put it down to first night nerves (this was the first gig on Girls Aloud's first ever national tour) but the Popstars - The Rivals winners were in danger of losing their fans even before they started such was the delay before the curtain opened.
The excitement of screaming at a video and dancing to DJ Casper and McFly soon wore off. Even the Mexican wave around the concert hall was falling flat by the time the girls finally appeared at 9pm.
Opening, appropriately with The Show, Cheryl, Nadine, Kimberley, Sarah and Nicola were dressed to please - sparkly sequined outfits in blue, red, silver, gold and pink.
"Hello Nottingham - is everybody having a good time," said shy looking Nicola, who was having a fine chat to the crowd early on.
"I think the mums and dads will like this one," they said as they launched into Duran Duran's Girls On Film.
The concert had a low budget feel to it - the stage was simple - a set of stairs leading to a second floor, an overhanging circular video screen. The lightshow was nothing out of the ordinary and there were no pyrotechnics (I hope there's more on offer for their arena gigs!)
But don't let that put you off - the girls are the visuals and just incase you tired of them there were the obligatory five hunky male dancers and a real live backing band!
There were a few anxious glances from the older members of the audience when the intro to Pink Floyd's Another Brick In the Wall began. Surely not? The answer was indeed not but it was a fine excuse for a costume change into schoolgirl outfits!
Yes, Girls Aloud are FHM brought to life. Their dance routine isn't exactly complicated comprising mostly of thrust your hips and shake your boobs - easily enough to satisfy.
We had a couple more costume changes - evening wear and night club, which answered the question "whatever happened to Kylie's gold hotpants?" The answer is that Nicole's got them.
The best thing about this show was seeing a group finally realising they were out on tour and growing in stage confidence. Nicola still had that rabbit caught in the headlights look about her as if she's desperately trying to remember the steps. It's very endearing.
Then there was the discovery of the power they had over their audience. The waves to the crowd increased and Sarah realised she could orchestrate a bit of crowd swaying.
Not knowing quite how to finish Teenage Dirtbag was also a bonus. These were girls happy to have a laugh as they tried to coordinate the end of the song with the bands crescendo. Long may it continue. Who needs super slick, at least they were enjoying themselves.
The highlights
Wake Me Up - never fancied it as a single but it works really well live.
Teenage Dirtbag - featuring some great panto acting as Nicola gets her man.
I'll Stand By You - nice a capella
Love Machine / Freak Out / Jump For My Love - great climax.

Kimberleys Bra Strap

We didn't get anything signed cos they didn't stop. They came off the tour bus one at a time with some bloke sheilding them kinda thing. All apart from Nadine. Dunno what's up with her but she took ages to get off the bus. Sarah did come back out but only to get on the bus and see her. A bit later on, Nadine's Mum, Dad, and sister got onto to the bus as well. After a while, she came off, didn't stop. The only ppl who got to go in and see them were some little kids.
The show was amazing! Think it was Sarah who said that they'd done 2 warm up gigs b4 ours and that Nottingham had made it all worth while and that we were the noisiest they'd ever seen! which was cool.
I didn't manage to get any pics though as I was too far away. Did get a wave off Cheryl which was cool.
The only time we stood up was for JUMP! and that's cos the girls told us to. Stayed standing for SOTU, until this woman behind us told us to sit down cos her lad couldn't see! He'd been asleep up until then!

Lee

was wicked yesterday/last night!
met nicola from cookie and she thinks we her number 1 fans now! haha!!
The only reason The girls didnt stop proper & sign was because this Scruffy Pap man was there trying to get photos of them! & think they were running a bit late!
the tour was amazing!! i wasn't sitting down when i paid for tickets! i was standing allll night!!
the set list DOES differ from the warm up in rhyl - more songs added!
costumes were brilliant aswell!
saw Justin ( kimb's boyfriend) were sat 2 rows behind us ( Bout 10 mins after sarah was trying to tell me that he was but i **** hear!! lol!),
same as nadines mum & dad they were 2 rows behind us - but we saw them earlier tho
Oh and . . . . Ashley cole was there!
and WOW pink tour bus!! wayhey!!

Lee Com

I went to see the girls last night, was 3 rows from the front, was a great show!
Very impressed at the vocals on most of the tracks, even if they did mime 2 of the songs (although to be fair some of their tracks are hardly easy to sing live!).
They all looked fantastic, especially Cheryl!

Baby T

cheryl kept lukin @ me n wavin n wen me n ma m8 woz screamin kimberley luked like us like "oooooook there so weird" it woz well funny i nearly blinded her wiv ma camra!!

Kimberleys Angel

OMG!!!! it was soooooo BRILLIANT!!!
Ive just got home from Notts (i stayed over night)
They girls were FAB, they all saw me and Helen dancing, and they all smiled and waved!!! Their tour bus is the coolest! PINK!!!! all the tour dudes are dead nice, and we had a good laugh waitin at the stage door for the girls to get there!!!!
I cannot get over my excitement!!!!
it was dead good with nadines parents, justin, kimbas mum and sis, sarahs mum, ashley cole! and loads more linked to the girls were around!!! i got to see them all!!! kimbas mum and sis are dead nice, them and justin loved the tshirts we made!

Kimberleys Angel 2

When i went to c Girls Aloud at Nottingham last night i met Justin and he was really really nice. He signed my ticket and he said ' i hope u enjoy the show'.
I also saw Ashley Cole standing at the side watching the girls.
Well done girls, they are gorgeous!!!

Brighton - 5th May 2005

Everything_youve_ever_wanted

oh my god that was amazing. cheryl pointed at me n goes ill stand by you!!!
n kimberley was laughing when we did nicolas hand bit for wake me up.
no one in near us was standing up we were like the only ones on the front of the floor doing all the dancing.
and the teenage dirtbag bit was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but nadine seemed to be having a lot of fun with her dancer, their faces were very close. i think she was drunk....she was like skipping round going "hi nottingham" n sarahs all "dont worry shes just jet lagged.
oh my god they looked so beautiful. and boy can they dance..woo. on that freak song nicola kim n cheryl were well going for it n they were amazing i never new they could dance like that! they must be exhausted. but they were amazing. they exceeded even my opinion of them, n that was high anyway. wow. just wow

Michael

I went brighton to see it and words can describe how good it was , it was the best concert ive ever been too.
i really think Nicola has come out of her shell she was really good she and kimberely are fantastic dancers, cheryl won the disco comp tho in the girls allowed/le freak mix.
my favoirite performances were thw show, here we go, no good advice and well all of them lol.
in Wake me Up Nicola sang her bit in a higher pitch instead of the low voice she uses and when she was dancin one of the male dancers was pulling ehr on the floor, she started off teenage dirtbag too, cheryl looked fab and her voice was so much improve, ncadine really went for it , kim was good and so was sarah.
the set was amazing and i love the way the boys used the lights in sound of the nderground, each costume was fantastic and the crowed was lovin them, i sat in row N seat 24/23 so i was right at the front nearly on the flat stools, best show eva im gonna try see if theres any tikcets left for and other venues i so wanna go again!!!!! f*#king fantastic!!!!

Oxford Apollo - 9th May 2005

Loyal to the Coyle

omg wat a night haha!
we didnt leave cardiff until gone 7 oopsie, talk about a mad rush to get to the extremely random venue. No signposts it must be said
anyway we get there and the doors are locked, knocked on the door and the guy let us in. We could hear the end of graffiti my soul, thinking oh **** we've missed five songs we were taken towards the stalls. woooo
It was now on the 'talky' bit between graffiti my soul and wake me up, lights were on the audience so what did we decide to do you may ask, well tyhe answer is simple run down the centre isle tambourine in hand jumping about. It made the girls laugh, especially kimberley
Nicola was waving at us through wake me up, i think she was still in shock at our entrance. Nadine spotted me alos and was waving and blew me a snidey kiss lmfaoooooooooo blesh nads! Beth and I both made banners which were spotteed. Mine said ' Nadine You're the BEST!' and Beth's said 'Beautiful stars' with the poster of Nicola and Cheryl from top of the pops beside it.
Next up the unforgettable Teenage Dirtbag. I dont quite understand why but Nadine was pointing at me and singing towards me during quite a bit of the song haha. Dunno wat thats all about
Awwwwness of Nicola it must be said clearly lovin or side of the audience. Oh and on the note of the audience they were'nt that 'get up and dance' type, we were like 4th row and the only people stood up until the end so it was like we were front row woop! Atmosphere note quite Cardiff! The venue was small.
We managed to get lost on the way to go home but this lead us to the pink tour bus lol. They were just going though i think so we just went home. Top night even if we did miss the first five songs!
BIG UP THE ENTRANCE
Wheyhey

Beth

Emilys pretty much said it all, but it was amazing! Funny coming in late but hey nevermind! Missed here we go though and I love the way Sarah sings that live

I honestly **** pick a fave song that they done, i loved so many! Love Machine was amazing, Girls Aloud, Deadlines & Diets, Here We Go, Jump, they were all great!!

They're all still lovely, especially Cheryl, she made sure she signed for everyone!! Nicola didn't really smile much though (but thats like normal for her), Sarah was really rushed onto the bus so never got to speak to her! Kimberley was lovely and so was Nadine

Newcastle City Hall - 16th May 2005

Karen

you were right - i've just came back from the venue and the whole place was rocking - and they went mad for cheryl.
It was fantastic - raw music and dancing, no reliance on special effects. I couldn't detect any miming to be honest.
I was in row u with my little niece, just behind cheryl's family who were in rows s and t.
Cheryl's mam was bopping away during the show. Before the girls came on, she turned around to the little kids in her family and said "don't forget to shout cher-yl, cher-yl" and some of cheryl's kids in the family had "we love cheryl" t-shirts on.
Cheryl dedicated "i'll stand by you" to her dad and his new girlfriend.
All the girls looked stunning, and the singing and dancing was great. The band were brilliant aswell - far superior to any backing track they could have opted for. The only criticism was it seemed to fly over!!

GirlsAloudNutter

Hey I went to Newcastle gig and it was AMAZING!!!
Thought best ones were Jump, Stand By You and Teenage Dirtbag! Got some good pix.
I went to Tiger Tiger after aswell and met them in VIP was great!!!
Kim came over and had a pic with her but couldnt with Cheryl or Nicola as they were patying with her family coz she hadnt seen em for 6weeks.
I felt really bad coz Cheryl was upset that everyone kept hassling her. She looked STUNNING!! Was a great day!

Pop Princess

WOW, the show last night was AMAZING!!! I knew it would be, but it was more like an arena show than a theatre one! Even though my seats were fairly near the back, I still had a fab view! (took over 50 photos, gonna develop them at work today!!)
I loved how all the songs were different versions with new routines, they must have worked sooo hard on this tour!!
The crowd went proper mad for Cheryl, chanting her name and at one point she started crying, awh, bless, she must have felt like a queen!!
Just so gutted its over, it flew by!

Cheryl is my homie

I saw Girls ALoud last night at the city hall! OMG, saying they were good would be an insult, they were FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! I took loads of photos and danced my ass off

Princess Cheryl

I was in the front row last night and the girls were AMAZING!!! I met them all before the show too outside and they were so sweet, especially Chex who was in a real hurry but still signed for me and took the card I got for her I got sopme awesome photos! The crowd adored Cheryl - she was sos sweet getting all emotional over eordie land - awwwwwwww!!!!!

Manchester Carling Apollo - 18th May
