*~ Impressed - Chapter One ~*

“Have you ever done that?” Justin asked his best friend, motioning to the TV. JC glanced up at him from his position on the floor, turning his attention away from the movie the two of them were watching.

“Made out with a guy? Nope, can’t say that I have. You?” The conversation seemed almost laughable. They were best friends, had been for years. They shared everything with each other. If either of them had ever made out with a member of the same sex, it would have been a topic of conversation. Even if it had been something embarrassing that had happened when one of them was drunk, they wouldn’t have withheld it from the other.

“No.” Justin paused for a moment, his attention turned back to the TV, then glanced at JC again. “Ever thought about it?” JC stretched out on his back, the movie all but forgotten, as he regarded Justin for a moment.

“Not really. It’s not something I’ve ever been curious about. What about you? Are you curious?” JC flashed him a playful grin.

“Maybe. Wanna try it?” Justin teased, grinning back. JC launched the pillow from under his head across the room toward the couch at Justin. Justin caught it easily.

“You know, you would think being one of the hottest men in the entertainment industry, you’d know how to flirt a little better than that. I’m not impressed,” JC teased back.

“Ha! So you think I’m hot. Wanna kiss me now?”

“No, I never said you were hot. I said you were one of the hottest men in the entertainment industry. Millions of girls, and probably quite a few guys come to think of it, think that. It’s a general consensus, not my personal opinion.” Justin’s bottom lip came out in a pout.

“That hurts right here man,” he said, placing a hand on his chest, right over his heart.

“Hurts in that big head of yours too, doesn’t it?” JC teased, smiling again. “It’s ok, I’m not too worried about bruising the Ego.” JC felt the need to refer to it with a capital letter when teasing Justin about it. “There are more than enough people willing to kiss your ass and build it up. I’m not one of them. I’ve seen you at your absolute best and absolute worst. There’s no impressing me when it comes to you.”

“I wouldn’t want it any other way. You wouldn’t be my best friend otherwise. You’d just be some guy who wants something from me. And while we’re on the subject of wanting something from me, I can think of something you say you don’t want, but that would definitely impress you.”

“Are we talking about kissing again? Because if we are, I really don’t think it would impress me. You can’t be that good of a kisser.”

“You’ll never know unless you try it,” Justin said, waving a hand vaguely in the air, as if it wasn’t a big deal. Truthfully, JC could tell that Justin was curious, but was too afraid to admit it.

“It’s ok. I’ll just ask Britney. Or maybe I’ll give Janet a call. Or Christina. You’ve been with all of them haven’t you?” He winked at Justin playfully. He knew the Britney comment would be overlooked. As for the Janet and Christina comments, he knew something was coming his way.

“Ouch. You’re all about the stabs at the heart today, aren’t you?”

“I’ve learned to believe everything I read in the tabloids. They’re usually pretty truthful. It’s just what I read. Are you saying it’s not true?” He pretended to be shocked.

“Ass.” Justin’s response came out a few moments later, after he could think of nothing better to say. JC laughed out loud.

“Nice comeback J. Wow, and I thought I was bad at comebacks.” Justin pulled his knees to his chest and rested the pillow JC had thrown at him earlier on top of them, his head leaning against it. He was pouting. JC climbed to his feet and made his way to the couch, sitting next to Justin. “Stop pouting. It worked when you were 16, but it doesn’t work on me anymore.” Justin raised his head a little to glance at JC.

“I come over for a nice quite evening of watching movies with my best friend and what do I get? I get made fun of.”

“Please,” JC said, rolling his eyes. “Like you haven’t made fun of me on more than one occasion relentlessly.”

“Yeah, but you beg to be made fun of. I mean, seriously, just look at the clothes you wear. If that doesn’t scream ‘make fun of me’ then nothing does.”

“And you want me to kiss you after you say things like that?”

“You said you didn’t want to kiss me,” Justin said, looking up at him again.

“Do you want me to?” Justin shrugged and picked at a thread on the end of the pillow, staring at it intently. He looked like JC remembered him at 15 when he had come to JC’s room one night with some questions about sex after hearing a conversation between Joey and Chris. “One kiss. Just as an experiment. Just because you have me curious now as to how good of a kisser you really are.” JC turned it around to make it look like he was the one who was curious, so as not to embarrass Justin.

Justin looked at him to see if he was joking or not. He wasn’t. Turning so he was facing JC, Justin looked almost scared.

“You sure you want to do this?” JC asked. Justin nodded. “Ok, but there is one stipulation.” Justin looked at him expectantly, but didn’t say anything. “This can’t be weird afterwards. It can’t become something we get embarrassed about whenever we see each other. We can’t let this ruin our friendship.” Justin nodded his consent. “I’m not saying it can never be talked about again, but it can’t make things weird.”

“It won’t,” Justin assured him. Without realizing he was doing it, Justin ran his tongue lightly over his bottom lip, wetting it slightly. JC found it sexy when he though about what they were about to do.

“Make it natural, not awkward,” Justin said, moving a little closer to JC.

“As natural as I can when it’s my best friend and another male sitting in front of me,” JC said, smiling. Justin smiled back and it was just the response needed to make any awkwardness disappear.

Together, they leaned in toward each other, both closing their eyes out of instinct more than anything. Their lips touched, softly at first, just the slightest of pressure. Then suddenly and without warning, JC moved his hand to the back of Justin’s neck and applied just enough pressure to bring their lips tighter together. Justin reacted and ran his tongue along JC’s bottom lips, asking for access. JC parted his lips, allowing Justin’s tongue to enter.

As the kiss intensified, JC’s body reacted in a way he never thought would be possible kissing Justin. But damn, the boy was a good kisser. He really wasn’t lying before. He seemed to know things to do with his tongue that JC had never experienced kissing anyone before. And when Justin started slowly sucking on JC’s bottom lip, a moan escaped his throat before he could stop it.

Justin’s hands found their way around JC’s neck and tangled lightly in his hair, his mouth still moving against JC’s. JC was reacting with as much enthusiasm as Justin seemed to have. It was a strange feeling, almost surreal. It was never something he had contemplated before, never even considered, yet it was the most intense kiss he had either received or given in his 26 years. There was no awkwardness, no figuring out which way and the exact angle to bend their heads. It was like they had done this a thousand times before and knew each others moves perfectly.

Finally, both breathless, they pulled apart. Justin met JC’s eyes for a brief moment and then looked down, a hint of red creeping across his cheeks. JC reached out and touched his cheek gently, causing him to look up.

“That was awesome J, don’t be embarrassed. You really were as good of a kisser as you lead me to believe.” Justin smiled, but then shook his head.

“It’s not that. It’s just, well, I kinda reacted in a way I didn’t mean to. I mean, my body reacted…I…um, yeah…” JC cut him off.

“Don’t worry about it.” Justin looked at him curiously.

“What do you mean don’t worry about it? Doesn’t that freak you out? I got hard off a damn kiss. It’s like I’m 15 again.” He was angry with himself.

“It doesn’t freak me out at all. In fact, it’s kinda sexy. And truthfully, my body betrayed me the same way yours did. So seriously, don’t worry about it.”

“You…you’re…I mean…” Justin couldn’t seem to finish his sentence.

“Yes Justin, I got hard too. It happens. And with a kiss that intense, I can understand completely. Don’t worry about it.” Justin smiled and sat back, leaning into the couch.

“It was pretty intense, wasn’t it?”

“Most intense kiss I’ve ever been involved in,” JC said, leaning back so their shoulders were touching lightly. “But remember, this can’t be weird.”

“It won’t be. There was nothing weird about that.”

“Good point. And just for the record, you impressed me.”
