Elise & JC-Chapter Eight
When I reached my room, I sighed with relief. I sat down in front of the hugely sized TV, and pressed the two and the four. I lay down on my bed, my food- half eaten- plastered out in front of me. I looked at the lively screen of MTV. My favorite DJ, Jũan came on. I sat and concentrated on the TV, eating every few seconds.
“Hey! I’m Jũan, and this is MTV 10! We’re going to count down the 10 most popular videos on the chart! Now, last week, Nsync topped the chat with their newly released “Pop” which was their first single on their newly released album, “Celebrity”. So, without further ado, let’s check out number 10!” The screen flashed, and then a video came on. Eww, I thought, as Michael Jackson’s “You Rock My World” video came on. I am totally convinced that guy is gay, I thought. I flipped through the channels, and settled on an old re-run of Baywatch Hawaii. A few minutes later, the doorbell rang. I opened the door, looked at who was standing there, and slammed it shut. Wouldn’t the guy ever leave me alone? Shouldn’t he be kissing Emily about now? As you probably guessed, it was that creepy-low-life who called himself JC. But he didn’t let that stop him. He pounded the doors.
“Elise, let me in. Please. I can explain.” He said. His voice gave me the chills. I sighed, and gave in.
I walked over to the door, and swung it open. The man who called himself JC, looked absolutely nothing like him. His eyes were bloodshot, swollen. It was like he was drunk. But he wasn’t. Instead, he smiled at me. I didn’t smile back.
JC took a seat on the bed, so I took a seat on my plush velvet couch.
“So…” I started lamely.
“I’m sorry,” He said. I looked at him, amused.
“Yeah…I figured that,” I said, and rolled my eyes. He stared at me.
“I’m serious. I’m sorry,” he said.
“Sure you are,” I said sarcastically.
“Elise, what is up with you? God, I’m trying to apologize to you, and you’re all mad. What is it?” He asked.
“Some things change. Like your feelings for your girlfriends, or boyfriends for that matter.” I said smoothly, as I glared at him through my gray eyes. He frowned.
“Your feelings changed?” He asked softly. I sighed.
“No, JC, but…” I started, trailing off.
“Then believe me! Trust me. That’s all I ask!” He pleaded.
“JC, you know I want to do that, but there’s this nagging feeling in my heart and soul telling me not too.
