When I See You Smile -chapter 1
Chapter One: Myra
“Let’s go Myra! Dan is so gonna be pissed when I’m late cuz you didn’t know what to wear! He’s only Ashley...not that big a deal! Jessica shouted to me.
“Chill okay! This Ashley happens to be the boy wonder Ashley Angel. Not just an everyday kinda guy. I’ll be done in 5 minutes- tops!”
5 minutes later I walked downstairs in my black leather pants and a pink baby tee that had ‘sexy’ written in rhinestone studs.
“Finally! Ash will love ya okay? Dan is a total genius, he knew you guys would be perfect for each other.” She exclaimed.
“Wait a second, I’ve never met Dan, how would he know me and Ash should hook up?
”
“Because I told him he should bring someone and him and Ash are tightest. Then he suggested a set up with you two. I told him it’d be perfect. Ashley is so your type.”
“You’re right about that one! Blonde haired, blue eyed hottie- definitely my type! I just hope he likes me.”
“He will! Let’s go!” We hopped into her silvery-green Bug (let’s just say it helps to be daddy’s 'lil girl to get that kinda ride). Anyway, on the five minute drive to the mall all Jess could talk about was Dan! She hadn’t seen him in two and a half months so she was kinda nervous.
“Okay, we’re here!” She practically jumped outta the car... “I can’t wait to see Dan!” We walked to the 2nd floor of the mall and met the guys by American Eagle. We got there and only Ashley was standing there.
“Oh my god, oh my god.” I muttered to Jess.
“It’s okay Mya, it’s only a guy. Now let’s go say hi.” My closest buds call me Mya. She pulled me by the arm to Ashley.
“Ashley! What’s up cutie!” Jess greeted him with a big hug. He looked amazing...wearing slightly baggy dark denim jeans and a mustard-y yellow Billabong long sleeved T-Shirt. “Oh, Ash, this is Myra.”
“Hey Myra, I’m Ashley.” He gave me a friendly hug and after I was just mesmerized. I stood there for a few seconds, just staring at him before I realized what I was doing.
“Hey, its nice to meet you. You can call me Mya if you want...if I can call you Ash.” I finally responded with a big smile. He flashed a flirty grin back at me. Man, one look at that smile and into those baby blues and I’m hooked. God, he was gorgeous.
“Of course you can call me Ash, only if I can call you Mya.” He joked playfully.
“Cut it out you two, where’s Dan? Jess asked. I didn’t know if she was annoyed but she sounded like it. Just then he came up behind her and put his arms around her waist.
“I’m right here baby.” He said as they kissed passionately. “I’ve missed you so much.”
“I’ve missed you like you wouldn’t believe!” She replied as they kissed again.
“Ugh! I guess we can kinda tell what today’s gonna be like” Ash whispered in my ear.
“Aww...I think it’s sweet. They’re in love, Ashley, what’s wrong with that?”
“There’s nothing wrong with it...I just wish I were in love. That’s all.” He said as he took a seat on a nearby bench.
“Oh oh, Mya I’m so sorry!” Jess exclaimed. “Dan meet my best bud Myra. Myra meet my boy Dan.” Dan hugged me and whispered:
“So what do ya think of Ashley?”
“He’s kinda...amazing. That’s all I can say, he is amazing.” I answered.
“Good, I’m glad you’re hitting it off.”
“Well, I’m glad you’re making Jess happy. Sounds to me like you’re a great guy to her. Keep it up.” I said as I walked towards Ashley’s bench.
“What’s the plan?” He asked as I sat down next to him. I totally felt comfortable around him and I really liked him. I hoped he felt the same way.
“I’m not sure. I guess I’ll ask the lovebirds over there...Hey Jess! Can we get movin’? How ‘bout we eat?”
“Good idea, Mya.” Ash said as he put his hand on my knee. “Where should we go?”
“I saw a Mickey D’s downstairs. Is that cool with you guys?” Dan suggested. He had his arm around Jessica protectively.
“That’s fine honey...I just wanna eat. I am starving!” Jessica replied as they kissed yet again. Ash and I looked at each other and started laughing. This was going to be fun!
