Chapter Five

Back at Parker and Eric’s apartment boxes scattered the living room, most opened and half-empty. Tommy had stuck around to help with the unpacking. Although at the present time the trio were sprawled out amongst the couch, floor and recliner taking shots to celebrate Eric’s new residence. There was a knock at the door and Eric sprang from his seat in the recliner to answer it.

“Riiiiiicky!” The lanky male screeched to his smaller companion. Before Ricky had a chance to speak Eric grabbed him by the arm and pulled him into the apartment. Met by the bewilder gazes of Tommy and Parker, Eric laughed loudly. “Look everyone RICKY decided to join us tonight!”

Ricky gave a shy smile and sat down in the chair that Eric had previously occupied. “Hey guys, sorry I couldn’t help tonight, but I was spending the day in Santa Monica with Gaby.”

“I hope you’re just keeping that seat warm for me.” Eric slurred, the drunken feeling slowly taking over his body.

Shrugging Ricky removed himself from the chair and took a seat on the floor with Tommy. Parker, who lay sprawled out on the couch, sat up and crossed her legs Indian style. “There’s no reason you guy should be on the floor. You can join me on the couch.” After making her offer she indignantly stuck her tongue out at Eric.

“Bitch!” The blonde man snapped the teasing in his voice obvious.

Blowing a kiss at her best friend Parker reached for the bottle of vodka and her shot glass. “Okay time to change the subject. Fifteen bucks says Reese gained weight!" Parker gambled.

Eric took a shot of vodka and shook his head. "No, no, she's too uptight when it comes to her weight. I bet twenty bucks that she...she...” He looked around him for ideas when it hit him, "found someone else."

Everyone's eyes in the room opened widely.

"You really think so?" Ricky asked him out of curiosity.

Eric shrugged. "It’s a possibility. It’s been since Christmas that they last saw each other. Reese is a pretty girl, ya never know...” He replied while taking another shot of vodka.

Parker shrugged. "If she does that to Danny, I'm gonna kick her ass. I've barely met the girl, and I don't know her, but that's a huge no-no to do to anyone."

"Don't worry about it, they've been exclusive to each other for the past two years, there's nothing that can change that." Eric concluded while thinking to himself that he shouldn't have made the bet about Reese.

Tommy shook his head and laughed. "You guys, right now, as we're talking about it, Reese and Danny are probably catching up for lost time in his apartment. I know her, she is very blunt, and doesn't hold much back when it comes to feelings. So, she would probably have told Danny before coming back. Or else why would she be here?" Tommy suggested as everybody nodded in agreement.

"Moving on then…” Parker said as she poured herself a shot of vodka. Knowing neither she nor Eric would have to drive that night gave them both an excuse to get as drunk as they wanted.

The night wore on and everyone had had his or her share to drink, other than Ricky, who volunteered to drive Tommy home.

The more Parker drank, the more she felt old feelings for Tommy coming back to her. She knew she adored him as a friend, but when alcohol entered her system, she tended to see him in a different light.

By 1 AM Ricky was stifling yawns and begging Tommy to go home. Tommy finally agreed and the two friends left soon after.

Being alone in the apartment Eric lifted himself slowly from the recliner and joined Parker on the over stuffed sofa. "So, Parks, how does it feel to have a male roommate?" he asked as he put his arm around her shoulders and they sat content to be in each other’s company. Parker busted out laughing.

"Why do you always call me Parks?" She replied, through giggles.

"Alright, never mind. I'm not in my right mind right now, don't ask me complicated questions." Eric groaned, rubbing his forehead.

Parker grinned and tightly hugged Eric. They held on, letting the hug linger longer then usual.

"I better get to bed, I’m going to have a terrible hangover tomorrow and I have rehearsals in the afternoon. I think." He mumbled to Parker as her doll like face pouted at him.

"You suck, you know this right?" She yelled after Eric.

I just stopped myself from hurting you, that really would have sucked.” He thought to himself as he undressed down to his boxers and flopped down into bed to fall quickly into a drunken slumber.
