The next morning greeted Parker with the sun shining brightly into her room. “Ugh! This is a weekend, I should have to get up so damn early.” She complained, throwing the blankets back and placing her feet on the soft, beige carpet.
Picking up the phone she decided it wasn’t fair for any of her friends to sleep in while she got up and helped Eric move.
A few rings later a tired male voice answered the phone. “’Ello?” His deep voice grumbled.
“Awe, Draino, did I wake you up?”
“Like you didn’t know.” The young blonde moaned, running a hand through his spiky hair. “What can I do for you, at…” there was a pause, “10 AM Parking Meter?”
"Has Eric called you and told you he's moving in with me? He's being evicted so he needs somewhere to go and I have the space. Problem is, we've all seen Eric's apartment. There is NO WAY we're gonna be finished by tonight, so I was wondering if you and Tommy could come and help us out a little before you go picking up Reese tonight. Please Danny, I BEG YOU!" Parker whimpered in a voice that her guy friends have a hard time refusing. She heard Danny sigh on the other side of the line and bit her lip in anticipation.
"Yeah he called and told us, but we can only help for a few hours or so because I have to be at LAX by 7 o'clock, and Reese's flight from London comes in at 7:30. So I’ll help out as much as I can or call Ricky and see if he can fill in for me while I go pick up my boo. I really can't wait to see her, you know it’s been awhile since she's been here," Danny exclaimed.
Parker rolled her eyes. She wants Danny to be happy, but she just got a weird feeling when it came to Reese.
"Alright, give Ricky a call and tell him to meet all of us at Eric's, we're moving that bastard in by sundown.” Parker dictated.
"Okay fine. See you when we get there.”
“Listen you HAVE to be at Eric's in an hour. Aiight? Call my cell if something happens, I'll be there sooner. Peace." Parker finished before hanging up with Danny.
Scanning the apartment Parker decided to clean up a bit. “Not that it matters, since Eric will turn this place into a pig sty by next week.” She commented to herself.
After straightening up the place she got into the shower. Looking at her watch she saw there was a half-hour left before going to Eric’s. “Time for a donut stop.”
Grabbing her keys she left her apartment and went to the parking lot where her red Toyota Camery was. Getting into her car, Parker turned up the radio and headed in the direction of Krispy Kreme Donuts.
The tall blonde threw open the door and embraced Parker in a tight hug. “Parks, I owe you for LIFE!” He exclaimed before taking the box of donuts from her hand. “OHHHhhhh!! You got donuts, you are SUCH my bitch.”
Rolling her eyes Parker slapped Eric on the ass. “And don’t ever forget it.”
Indulging in donuts the two friends sat in a comfortable silence, waiting for Danny and Tommy to show up. Nearly forty-five minutes later Danny’s trucked pulled up.
Parker who had been pacing the floor noticed from the window as the two males exited the vehicle. “It’s about time!” She shouted, pushing past Eric and running out the door.
“What’s up Meter?” Danny said, his arms reached out to give his friend a hug.
“Don’t ‘what’s up’ me, Danny. You guys are almost an hour late!”
Shrugging Danny pointed to Tommy and walked past Parker. “Blame it on sleeping beauty over there.”
Glaring at Tommy Parker couldn’t help but let out a snicker. The tall man’s curls were sticking out in every which direction. His blue eyes had a glazed over look. What made it a picture perfect moment was the fact that he had managed to mismatch his clothes so badly.
“Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.” Parker teased.
Tommy scowled. “It’s not like I wanted to look this beautiful, I had no choice. Danny woke me up late and didn’t give me anytime to get ready. I should have never slept over his place.”
“AH HA! So it was Danny’s fault.”
Danny stuck his head out the window of Eric’s apartment and shouted down to the two friends outside on the sidewalk. “Whatever, can we just move Eric already?” He shouted down.
Shrugging Parker linked her arm with Tommy’s and headed back upstairs.
"ERIC! I'M GONNA KICK YOUR ASS!" Parker's green eyes filled with anger as Eric dropped a packing box on her foot.
Squealing Eric picked the box back up. "I'm SO sorry Parks, I thought you had a handle on that." Eric explained himself as he lifted the box and placed it into his truck. Then he tried to comfort Parker who was holding her foot and jumping up and down in pain.
"You guys, stop hurting each other and just help out. It is your stuff, Eric." Tommy growled as he walked past them to put a few lamps from Eric's apartment into the bed of the truck.
"Well, thank you, Tommy for coming here today when you could be online talking to what's her name again? Kenzie? Carol? Kryptonite…" Eric droned on and Tommy rolled his eyes at his best friend.
"Her name is Kay. Just, Kay. Not Kryptonite and I have no fuckin’ clue where THAT came from, but yeah, Kay. I WOULD be talking to her, but I thought since she's leaving Philly at the present moment and she wouldn’t be online, I'd help out my friend. Kapeesh?" Tommy replied with a glare in Eric's direction before turning on his heel back to the apartment.
Parker leaned into Eric's ear, "When did he become the No Authority don?" she whispered.
Eric burst out laughing, getting Tommy's attention, although it was only an evil glance.
Tommy rolled his eyes. "Why am I even bothering explaining online companions to those two?" He thought as he pressed the elevator up button.
When the elevator arrived on the ground floor, Danny stood there, trying to get a good grip on Eric’s bureau.
"Tommy, can you help me please?" Danny mumbled.
Tommy left his thoughts for later and assisted his friend with taking the bureau out to the trucks. Once it was secured in the bed of Danny’s truck everyone heaved a thankful sigh.
“Finally, we’re done.” Parker said, glancing at her watch. “And it only took us six and a half hours.”
"Reese arrives in an hour, Reese arrives in an hour, Reese arrives in an hour...YAY!" Danny sang as he and Tommy picked up the last two boxes, having all the furniture already downstairs and in Danny's truck.
Tommy laughed at Danny's enthusiasm and sighed.
“Eric, you can go lock up now and turn in your keys.” Parker concluded as she tied the last of the boxes into the bed of Eric’s truck.
Pausing from his happy dance, Danny noticed a box sitting by his truck.
"Oh Parking Meter! We've got one more box here.” Danny announced, handing the last box to the red head.
Parker's emerald eyes glared at Danny. "But I just..." She started to say.
The tall man just shook his head in exaggerated pity. "Just put it in one of the seats or something, don't worry about it. I'm sorry, but it’s his fault he's got so much shit!" Danny exclaimed as he threw a look of disgust at an unknowing Eric.
Parker laughed and got out of the back of the truck. "I know, I know. I’ll see what I can do..." She replied opening Eric's side door to put the last box in.
"All right guys, are we done here?" Tommy asked everybody as they sat on the sidewalk curb to take a breather.
"Yep, I just gotta turn in my keys to the landlady, and we can get to Parks place, unload Danny's truck first so he can get out of here and go get his bitch." Eric teased, patting Danny's back as he stood up and walked to the landlord's apartment.
