JC sank into his bed, face first. Was he doing right with Dakota?
::Knock, Knock::
“Come in” he yelled from inside, still laying on the bed. Lance walked in the room and laughed. “Geez, man. You look beat!” he smiled, as JC turned onto his side. “Long day” he stated simply.
“Yeah, but fun though, don’t ya think?” Lance asked, smiling still. “Absolutely. I had a good day…” JC started. Lance smiled absent-mindedly and nodded. “You like her?” JC asked. Lance snapped his head towards JC. “Who?” he asked. “Who?! Court!” JC laughed.
Lance searched his head for the correct answer. “Yeah” he said rubbing the back of his head. “Yeah, I like her a lot. Is that ok? I mean…” “Lance! It’s cool man. You two have been making googly eyes at each other for years, I’d say it’s about time!” JC said.
“You’re honestly ok if I’d ask her out?” Lance asked surprised. “Yeah man. I’d rather it be you than another in the long line of assholes that she’s gone out with.” JC said. “Besides, she looks happy when she’s with you. I like seeing her happy.” “Thanks man. That’s means a lot.” He said, getting up from the bed.
“Jace?” Lance wandered. “Yeah,” JC said, picking himself off the bed. “You like Dakota, don’t you?” he said softly. JC seemed somewhat shocked by his question. Why should he be though. He hadn’t taken any measures to hiding his affection for her. He smiled.
“Yeah, I guess I do.” He chuckled. “Good.” Lance smiled.
“Good?” JC laughed. “Yeah. At least you’re not denying it” Lance said. “That obvious?” JC smiled. “Blatantly.” Lance said.
“Hey, did you see Justin talking to her earlier?” JC asked. “No, why?” Lance asked. “No reason. They just looked a little cozy.” He said worriedly. “I wouldn’t worry about Justin, man. He’s got his own woman, he wouldn’t mack on someone he knew you were into.” Lance reasoned.
“How would he know I was into her though?” JC asked, still worried. “Blatantly obvious, remember?” Lance offered.
“Right. I keep forgetting that.” JC smiled and laughed.
“Alright. I’m heading to bed” Lance said. “Alright, goodnight” JC said as Lance closed the door behind him. JC pulled down the covers and stripped down to his boxers. He crawled into bed, refreshed knowing that at least someone could tell he was into Dakota. If only she could tell. ‘Could she?’ He wondered to himself. He let visions of Dakota swim into his mind as he fell into a deep, deep sleep.
