Lance walked with Courtney up to her door. He had picked her up at work since Josh he taken her in earlier that day. Now it was late evening. They had to make it an early night because of their departure time, early the next morning.

“I don’t believe you leave tomorrow already” Courtney said, taking a seat on the cement step. Lance followed her lead at took the spot next to her. “Hmm… It’s been a good couple of days though, huh?” he wandered aloud.

She smiled as she glanced over at him. “Yeah, it really has” she agreed. He returned her glance, and held their gaze for awhile.

He could think of nothing better to do at the moment than the next flow of motion. He took her face in his hands and swiftly brought his lips to hers. Almost just as quickly they parted.

Courtney sat in silence as Lance did the same a few inches away from her. She’d waited countless years for the moment that had just passed. Only one thought raced through her mind. It was all worth the wait.

“You ok?” Josh asked finally, as Justin’s driveway and Dakota’s car were in sight. “Yeah, I’m fine.” Dakota answered softly. “I was just thinking about what you said earlier.” Josh smiled. “That’s not always good.” he said. “No, it’s great. I’m not happy. It’s just that, without dancing, I don’t know who I am.” She said.

Josh though about what she said before commenting. “I don’t think you should try to keep yourself away from dancing. It’s too much a part of you. But it doesn’t seem like teaching six-year-old “mommy’s angels” is working for you.”

“You can say that again.” She smiled. “I miss it. The routines, the grooling ten hour days, the talent in the dancers and not trying to find that talent.”

“Well, then. I think you have your answer.” He said a matter of factly. “Simple as that, huh?” she smiled. “I didn’t say simple. But it wouldn’t be fair for your talent to go to waste. Besides, from what I’ve seen, and keep in mind I haven’t even known you all that long, dancing is too much a part of your life for you not to be a part of it.”

Once again, he got it. He hit the nail on the head before she could even find the hammer.

Josh walked her to her car after she grabbed her stuff from inside Justin’s and said goodbye to Joey, Chris and Justin. Lance was missing, but she had some hint of where he might be. Or at least who he might be with.

“I had a good time tonight, Josh” she said, stopping just short of her car door. “I’ll make sure to tell Justin.” He said. “I already thanked Justin. I was thanking you.” She said, smiling at him.

“Me?” he looked surprised. “All I did…”
She touched his hand, interrupting him before he could continue. “You’ve done more than you know.” She said simply, looking into his eyes that at present were pouring into hers.

“You’re welcome.” He said softly. Slowly, almost aquwardly he leaned toward her, softly touching his lips to hers. He pulled away, looking to her for some type of reaction.

Dakota opened her eyes and smiled, still surprised from his advances. He smiled a little seeing her smile. “I should get going” she said, pulling out her keys. “Will I see you again?” he asked, almost desperate for a quick recovery of his emotions. ”I’m not going anywhere.” She smiled.

“Good.” He smiled. “Very good.”

He shut the door to her car door once she settled herself inside. Dakota watched as Josh made his way back inside the house. She smiled. For the first time since she returned back to Orlando her life seem back on track. Finally.
