Chapter 1!

"Nick!" Nick turned around smiling.
"Hey, Mallory." He greeted, hugging the small blonde girl. "You've grown." He commented.
"You and I both know that I haven't but flattery will get you everywhere. Just don't tell Kev coz he'll kick your butt." She giggled.
"He certainly will." Kevin agreed.
"Damn, there goes number one on my 'things to do list'." Nick laughed.
"She's such a bitch, I can't believe she's done this to me again!" AJ's voice rang out across the stage.
"Is he still having trouble with Chelsea?" Mallory asked Nick who just nodded. The three of them watched silently as Howie walked over to see what was wrong with AJ.
"Where's Brian?" Kevin asked.
"He had to go and pick something up for LeighAnne. He'll be back soon, don't worry." Nick replied.
"I can't believe I came all this way to see him and he couldn't even be bothered to be here when I arrived." Mallory said, pouting.
"What do you mean you came to see him? I thought you were here to see me!" Nick pretended to look upset. Mallory smiled and pretended to push him.
"Y'know I love ya, Carter." She huggeds him playfully.
"Step away from the minor before I break both your legs." Brian's voice said playfully.
"Brian!" Mallory hugged him. "I'm not a minor anymore y'know." She reminded him.
"I know, but you're still too young." Brian said and Kevin nodded his agreement.
"Too young for what?" Mallory demanded. "Hugging people?"
"Getting with in a five mile radius of people when they're like Nick." Kevin stated.
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?" Nick demanded.
"You know exactly what it means." Kevin replied.
"Guys, guys. No fighting please. It's the first day of rehearsals, lets start as we mean to go on." Howie said in a pleading voice as Nick opened his mouth to speak.
"Hey Nick, you wanna go out tonight?" AJ asked. Nick looked unsure. "C'mon dude, it'll be cool."
"Sure, ok." Nick agreed. AJ'd hung out with him a lot when he'd needed him to, now was his chance to repay the favour.
"Can I come?" Mallory asked.
"Sure." AJ agreed.
"No." Kevin said.
"It's not up to you, I'm not a child." Mallory reminded him.
"You're still too young to drink." Kevin argued.
"Then I'll be the designated driver." Mallory said with a smile.
"C'mon Kev, we'll look after her." AJ said persuasively.
"He's afraid that we'll look after her too well." Nick muttered.
"What?" AJ and Howie both looked at Kevin who stared back at them defiantly.
"I'm gonna go and talk to 'Tima about these steps." Nick said, walking off.
"What did you say to him?" AJ demanded. Mallory glared at Kevin and then turned to follow Nick.
"You stay right here young lady." He instructed. Mallory ignored him and carried on walking.
"Nick, wait up!" She called. Nick sighed and turned around.
"You proably shouldn't be here. Since I can't be trusted to keep my hands to myself and all." He told her.
"Just ignore him, y'know what he's like." Mallory said softly.
"Yeah and y'know what I'm like so you should go." Nick replied.
"He knows that you're not like that and so do you and I. He's just being over protective." Mallory sighed. "C'mon, we'll go out tonight, we won't have sex, I won't get pregnant and then he won't have any reason to kill you." She grinned.
"Shame, we'll have to find some other to way to celebrate you being legal now then." Nick teased. Mallory coloured slightly. Nick knew that she was a virgin, he wasn't sure how he knew, he just did. She'd had boyfriends before but nothing serious so that was probably why. She's only turned 18 a month ago and with cousin's like Kevin and Brian she didn't have much chance to get any action.
"You can buy me an orange juice." She said, mock seriously.
"Come on, we'd better go back out there before they come looking for us." Nick said, turning and leading Mallory back out onto the stage that had been set up in an old warehouse for them to practise on before the tour started.
"Nick." Kevin called to him. He walked over reluctantly, leaving Brian giving Mallory about how she had to behave when she went out that night, no drinking, etc.
"Hey."
"Look, I'm sorry about what I said before. I know you're not like that." Kevin apologised.
"Not anymore. Go ahead, I know you wanna say it." Nick sighed. Kevin smiled sheepishly. "Look Kev, she's like a sister to you and she's barely 18. I wouldn't just sleep with her and then leave it at that."
"I know you wouldn't. I over reacted. I'm sorry." Kevin apologised again. "Do you really think it's a good idea for her to go out with you guys tonight? I mean, like you said, she's barely 18. I don't want her getting into trouble."
"She'll be fine. I'll keep an eye on her. Brian's over there giving her a list of things she can and can't do right now." Nick said, grinning at Mallory who was looking decidedly annoyed. She pulled her tongue out at him.
"Since when does she listen to Brian?" Kevin asked with a smile.
"I'll keep an eye on her. I'm only going out tonight coz AJ doesn't want to go out on his own. Don't worry. I won't drink too much and I won't let her drink anything other than soft drinks." Nick promised.
"OK." Kevin said.
"Where's she gonna stop? You won't want to wait up for her will you?" Nick asked, glancing at Kevin slyly to see if he'd take the bait. He did.
"She's not staying with you, Carter! Don't even think about it!" Mallory and Brian looked at Kevin like he was crazy. "You'd better give her a key then. You know what AJ's like. No telling what time we'll be back."
"Nick! Don't tease him or he won't let me go." Mallory whined.
"I'm already having second thoughts." Kevin agreed.
"How could you stop her going?" AJ asked.
"I'll tell her if she goes then she won't have anywhere to stay." Kevin said. Mallory smiled sweetly, she knew he'd never do that.
"Don't worry Mallory. If he kicks you out you can stay with me." AJ offered, earning a glare from Kevin.
"I don't think Chelsea would appreciate that." Howie reminded AJ.
"Screw Chelsea. Well, you could stay with Nick. I'm sure he'd be happy to have you." AJ added.
"You're staying with me, or Brian. No arguments. Come on, we're going for lunch." Kevin took hold of Mallory's arm and pulled her away. She turned and waved to the guys who laughed at her indignant face when Kevin refused to let go of her hand.
