Chapter 2!

"I can't believe they actually let you in." Howie laughed. He'd decided to accompany the younger three, well, it had been Kevin's decision really. He didn't trust AJ and Nick to take care of Mallory. Nick and AJ had seen through it straight away but Mallory hadn't seemed to.
"Come and dance with me, Mallory." Nick requested, taking her hand and leading her out to the dance floor. They danced and laughed for a while before Howie came over to take over.
"She looks good, huh?" AJ said, passing Nick a drink. It was apparent to Nick that AJ had had a little too much to drink already, but then he'd had quite a bit himself. It was proably a good thing that Howie had accompanied them.
"Yeah, she looks great." Nick agreed, drinking the whisky chaser that AJ passed him quickly and then moving onto his beer.
"She changed at your's right? Coz Kevin'd never let her out dressed like that." AJ laughed.
"Yeah, she came round wearing trousers and this vest top thing. Kevin hung around until Howie'd arrived, I think he knew she was going to change." Nick laughed.
"How did she bring the clothes with her then?"
"Kristin gave them to me before. They made me stay for dinner."
"They made you?"
"Yeah, Kevin wanted to make sure that I'd eaten something decent before I started drinking. Kristin brought them out to the car. She's gonna have to change before she goes home."
"When did she start looking like that? It's like, last time we saw her she was just a kid and well...now she's not." AJ commented, looking Mallory up and down as she danced happily with Howie.
"Tell me about it. If she wasn't Kev and Bri's cousin...." Nick said, turning round and ordering another drink for them both. The barmaid smiled at him and he smiled back, thanking her for the free shots.
"Hey, you didn't give me free shots." AJ complained.
"You're not as pretty as him sweetheart." The barmaid laughed. Nick grinned and downed his shot, AJ followed suit.
"What's her being Kev and Bri's cousin got to do with anything?" AJ asked.
"Well she's...She's off limit's isn't she? They kill me if I even looked at her like that. You saw what Kevin was like before."
"She is hot though. I can't believe you're going to let them stop you. You've never let them interfere before."
"That's because it was none of their business before. Those other girls had nothing to do with them." Nick replied.
"Yeah, and Mallory's got a mind of her own. She's not interested in you anyway." AJ laughed.
"She is!" Nick argued.
"No she's not. She sees you as Kevin's little brother and Brian's best friend. That pracrically makes you family. She likes you, just not in that way." AJ said, knowing that he was winding Nick up.
"She does too." Nick argued.
"You couldn't get her to look at you twice, let alone sleep with you."
"I could!"
"Wanna put you're money where your mouth is?" AJ asked.
"What?"
"You wanna make a bet?"
"No, AJ, that's sick." Nick said, shaking his head.
"Just coz you'll lose." AJ laughed.
"I wouldn't lose!"
"Prove it."
"Fine. How much?"
"You choose."
"$500." Nick offered.
"$500? That's nothing. Make it $1000." AJ demanded.
"Only if you promise to keep it to yourself."
"You too then. Kev'd kill us both if he found out."
"Deal." They shook on it, both of them too drunk to realise what they were doing.
"AJ, you haven't danced with me yet." Mallory said, pulling away from Nick.
"Come on then sweetness, I'll show you how it's done." AJ let her lead him out to the dance floor, turning and grinning at Nick. Nick had a sick feeling in the pitt of his stomach and it wasn't because he'd had too much to drink. Mallory was great, she was young and sweet and funny. He had no right to mess with her like this, she wasn't like all those other girls who were willing to sleep with him because he was good looking and famous. He couldn't back out now though, it wasn't the money, $1000 wasn't that much money to him really. It was the principal of the thing, he hated to lose and losing to AJ was the worst thing ever because he was not a gracious winner.
"You guys ready to go? I promised Kev we'd have Mallory home by three and she needs to get back to your house and change." Howie reminded Nick.
"Yeah, I'm ready. I'll go grab them if you want." He offered. Howie nodded and Nick walked onto the dance floor to Mallory and AJ.
"You come to dance with us Nicky?" AJ asked with a grin.
"No, it's time to go." Nick replied. "You need to change and we promised Kev we'd have you home by 3 so we need to leave now."
"OK." Mallory smiled and walked off the dance floor to Howie.
"No chance." AJ laughed, watching Nick watch Mallory walk away.
"Just have that $1000 ready, McLean." Nick said, following Mallory off the dance floor. Mallory sat in the back of Howie's car next to Nick whilst AJ rode shot gun.
"I'm tired." Mallory sighed.
"I'm not suprised. You didn't stop dancing all night." Nick laughed, as she let her head loll back against the seat.
"Can I come out with you guys again?" She asked, raising her head to look at him.
"Sure. I don't see why not. You'll have plenty of chance when we're on tour. We go out all the time." Nick replied.
"I know, you normally leave me behind." Mallory pouted.
"Hey, they used to leave me behind too. I would never have been allowed to go to a club when I was 18. Not even if Kev came with me." Nick told her.
"He must trust you more than you think."
"No, he doesn't. That's why he made Howie come."
"Mmmm." Mallory looked as though she was ready to fall asleep.
"Mallory, don't fall asleep. You need to get changed. Come on." Nick attempted to pull her up from the sofa where she'd sat down when they'd arrived at Nick's house. She brushed his hand away and muttered something unfriendly.
"Why don't you just ring Kev and tell him she's asleep? You can't wake her up and I don't know about you but I don't think it's a good idea for us to change her back into what she was wearing. We don't know what she's got on underneath that skirt and she isn't wearing a bra." AJ suggested.
"You been looking then, AJ?" Howie asked with a grin.
"You can tell, it's too tight to wear a bra with." AJ replied. "We'd be best just carrying her upstairs to the spare room and then calling Kevin."
"I'm not calling him." Nick said.
"I'll do it." Howie offered. You carry her up to bed Nick. AJ, you stay where you are, you're too drunk to move. Try and wake her up to put a t-shirt on or something, she'll be sweltering if she sleeps in that leather skirt." Howie instructed as Nick picked Mallory up. He carried her upstairs, suprised at how light she was, and placed her gently on the bed in one of his spare rooms. He went and retrieved a t-shirt from his room and then tried to wake her up.
"Mallory, Mallory." He shook her gently. "Mallory." He tried again, a little louder and her eyes fluttered open. She looked at him tired and disoriented.
"Put this on. You can't sleep in that skirt, you'll be too hot." He passed her the t-shirt and stood up. She looked at it stupidly.
"What about Kevin?" She asked suddenly, just as Nick had reached the door.
"Howie's going to call him to tell him that you're staying here coz you're asleep." Nick said with a smile.
He left the room and ran down the stairs.
"He said that it's fine. I think he was too tired to care as long as she was home from the club." Howie said, smiling at Nick. "C'mon AJ, I'll drop you off home."
"You guys can stay here if you want." Nick offered, following them to the door.
"Nah, it's ok, I've got stuff to do in the morning and he's had so much to drink I don't think he'll be feeling very sociable. Good job we haven't got rehearsals huh?" Howie laughed. Nick smiled.
"Yeah, see ya later then. Bye AJ." He called, to AJ who was already standing by Howie's car.
"Bye Nick! Be good!" He said, laughing wickedly.
Nick closed the door and locked up, checked that his dogs were ok and then headed up to bed, tiredly. He looked in on Mallory to check that she was ok. The leather skirt was flung on the floor but she wasn't wearing the t-shirt. She still had on her top and the t-shirt was draped across her legs. He walked over to her and his eyes scanned her body, he couldn't help it, it was just a natural reaction. Thank god he'd had so much to drink, it was too late for a cold shower now. He pulled the covers up around her and brushed some stray hairs from her face. It shouldn't be too hard to win his bet with AJ. He could have picked someone ugly, Nick reasoned. He'd work on it tomorrow. It'd take a while though, since she was a virgin.
