Mercedes and Cassidy had made it home, and were now lying on their beds. "Cass, I want to talk to you. Don't take this the wrong way, but you and A.J. should slow down. You hardly know each other," Mercedes told her friend.
"But he's really sweet," replied Cass.
"I know. I just don't want to see you get hurt," she told her.
After thinking for a moment Cass said, "maybe you're right. Maybe we are moving too fast. I sorta fell head over heels for him. I'll talk to him when he gets here." Cass decided. "But how should I tell him? I don't want to hurt him."
"Well,I think you should just give it to him straight. You could say something like 'I've been thinking, maybe we should slow down some' or something like that," Mercedes said to her friend.
"Yeah, that sounds good. When do they land?" Cass asked.
"They land tomorrow at four at the LAX airport." Then Mercedes looked at her watch. " I'm hungry. Want to get some grub? It is three after all, and we haven't eaten yet," Mercedes said to her friend.
"Yeah I'm famishing! You know what sounds good? In-n-Out. I could go for one of those shakes. And if we get lucky maybe the guy giving us the food will be cute," said Cass to Mercedes.
"Sounds good! Let's go!" she said. It was a nice day, so they put the top down on their royal blue Mustang with cream leather seating. The girls pulled up to the speaker. "Hi. Welcome to In-n-Out. What can I get ya?" said the guy over the intercom.
"Yeah I'd like two cheese burgers, two fries, a large lemonade, a large coke, and two shakes, one vanilla, one Neapolitan."
The guy read the order back. "Is that all?"
"Yep."
"Ok, that'll be $10.00 at the window."
The girls pulled up to the window and got their food.
"Mmmm. This smells so GOOD! I can't wait till we get home," Cass said to her friend. When they got home, they dug into the food.
"Wanna watch a movie?" Mercedes asked after they were done eating.
"Yeah, what do you want to watch?" Replied Cass.
"How 'bout…'My Best Friend's Wedding'?"
"Sounds good."
After the movie had ended, the girls watched three more movies before
going to bed.
The next day.
"Nick come on! We're going to be late!" Howie yelled.
"Ok hold on! I'm coming!" he yelled back.
It was the next day and the boys were leaving for their flight.
"Ok, let's go. The limo is waiting," Kev said to the rest. They went down stairs and got in the limo.
"You guys. I want your opinion on something," A.J. told them.
"Ok what," said Brian.
"I've been think about the relationship I have with Cass. I feel like we're moving too fast. I want to tell her but I don't know how," he told them.
"Well, you could say something like, 'I'd like to talk to you.' And then you could tell her you feel like you're moving too fast, and that you think you should slow down." Howie told him.
"Yeah, but I don't want to hurt her feelings," said A.J.
"She'll probably understand. If you want, I could ask Mercedes what she thinks. Them being best friends and all," Nick offered.
"Would you? If I know she would be ok, I would feel a lot better about talking to her. She's so sweet, I don't want to hurt her." A.J. told them.
"Sure thing. I'll talk to her as soon as I can," said Nick.
"Ok guys, we're here." Kevin said to them.
They got out of the car, and went to a private waiting area. After about 15 minutes, a lady came in to tell them that they could board the plane.
"Mr. and Mrs. Littrell, Mr. And Mrs. Richardson, Mr. McLean, Mr. Dorough, Mr. Carter, the plane is ready for you to board now. If you'll follow me, I'll take you to your seats."
"Maybe now we can get some sleep. I don't know about you, but I'm tired," Howie said to the others.
"I can't wait till we land. Then I can talk to Cass. I hope she understands," said A.J.
"I'm sure she will," Kristen said.
"Please fasten your seat belts, the plane will be taking off in a few minutes. Thank you and enjoy your flight," came the announcement over the intercom.
They all fastened their seat belts and settled in for the flight.
